I am interested in both the hardware and software sides of computers, I haven't gotten into any hardcore programming though. I have built 4 computers so far, one for me, bro, and a couple friends, and I find that very entertaining.

  1. Well, that pfp really aged well.

  2. I would go with a 960 over the 380 due to less heat and power draw, as far as which one, the gigabyte one has the highest core clock while still maintaining two fans, so might be quieter?, so I would go with that one.
  3. What is your budget/price range? Something like the asus pro art monitors would fit your needs fairly well.
  4. If you can raid 1 the two 3tb drives they will be more secure than one 5tb drive though it might run slower EDIT: saw @TheKDub's post and if the seagate's have high failure rates then yeah go with 2 western digital nas drives, 2 in raid 1 would almost certainly be more secure than one large drive if security is what you are looking for
  5. Oh okay, so I did the disable scaling thing and yeah, now the program just shrunk everything. I guess I'll try to contact Native Instruments' support and see where that takes me. Thanks for the help!
  6. Hey, so I recently got a dell xps 13 which has a 3200 x 1800 display. I've had problems with text in programs such as skype and spotify being blurry but just assumed it was scaling problems in windows 10 and it would be fixed in the future. However, I installed the program traktor to my laptop and the scaling is unbearable, as seen here, it barely takes up any of the screen and I cannot re size it. If anyone has any recommendations on how to fix this that would be much appreciated.
  7. 30-40 idle isn't actually that much, that's what my computer idles at. Your computer would have to be hitting 80 and above degrees celcius in order for it to be a problem with temperatures. It might be a bios problem but I don't have much experience there, have you tried overclocking your computer at all?
  8. Oh ok well if you don't want to do a full upgrade on everything then you might just be better off saving up until you can or getting an ssd like you were planning before
  9. I agree with ANewFace, get a new mobo, cpu, ram, you might be able to get the hdd's but if they are fairly old I would recommend replacing them
  10. What temps are you getting on your cpu at idle and under load(use a program like core temp to find that out)?
  11. I don't think you'll need 6tb of storage for gaming, 3tb or even just 2 should hold you up just fine, and just to save some hassle and money I would get a single large ssd rather than two small ones. Other than that, get rid of the soundcard, I would recommend upgrading headphones before upgrading your soundcard and besides, most integrated soundcards these days are good enough. Use the money you saved to upgrade your graphics card if you can or rather get a larger ssd.
  12. Would you say the dayton sub is better than something like a polk pws10 or are they around the same as far as clarity and sound range goes. Just asking since they are around the same price and I'm considering upgrading my current speaker system
  13. What is the proper way to throw away this battery and how to I get a replacement?
  14. Oh jeez ok well ill keep it in my garage or something while I go out and get the tools to remove the battery I guess
  15. Oh ok sorry I didn't see that, thanks for the help!
