  1. I feel really really poopy now... Nothing worked after pulling out GPU, RAM, CPU, Cooler, Fans, HDD's, Disk Drives, Power connections inside, Tried #1 on the list and guess what... EDIT!!! turns out that it was not the power cable that was causing the posting problems. It was one very moody dimm that it had in there. Popped in one from my test rig and bam the pc was working straight off on the first boot. Guess I got some ram shopping to do
  2. Ive started up the PC both with SSD and HDD plugged into the Mobo; and with the HDD plugged into two different external enclosures through USB 3 on front panel and USB3 of the Mobo
  3. Ive tested both SATA6G (Gray) and SATA3G (Black) on the 3TB and it did not detect on both except for the BIOS again. I know for a fact that those SATA ports do indeed work as its a brand new board which i've tested using my boot SSD. I have run list disk on diskpart - which was the only way that i could be able to see whether the disk showed up or not (It didnt btw, only my SSD showed), nor did any partitions. The HDD isnt molex powered, its SATA powered
  4. You can either go through Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+ESC) and go to the 'Startup' tab. You can view everything enabled to startup and everything disabled. Another directory you can check for other applications not shown in task manager is at: \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
  5. Hey again; I've already run: Recuva Testdsk Stellar Phoenix Diskpart Windows-installer Windows-explorer HDSentinel Only my SSD shows up in all the windows applications, but as soon as i check the Bios the 3TB HDD shows up there as a SATA device which i can even choose to boot from (Which does nothing as there isnt nor ever was an OS on it).
  6. Thanks for the reply. When i connected it up earlier to my test-pc one of the steps i followed was to go into Disk Management but to no help to the situation, showed only the boot SSD. I've packed away the HDD back into its enclosure for now - but am curious as to your first step, the Recuva program. What would the chances be that it would show up in there but not through windows or other data recovery applications? Since the initial post i've attempted to get the drive to atleast show up through running TestDsk (Only found the SSD); and to boot onto my windows-install stick - select custom on windows install and try to view the hard drive there - That also only showed the SSD, but the BIOS still shows the HDD being picked up on Sata port 3
  7. I have an ASUS B85M-Gamer motherboard that picks up a potentially dead 3TB on SATA3 (Which it is plugged into) but data-recovery nor windows detects it. Stellar Phoenix - Doesnt detect it HDSentinel - Doesnt detect it Windows Explorer - Doesnt detect it Disk Management - Doesnt detect it Theres roughly 2TB of games on the drive. They told me that it stopped working right after a restart ***EDIT*** It was an External Seagate 3TB HDD; I tested with a different PSU and different USB cable to no avail (Besides not allowing the test-bench not to boot the first time it was plugged in) I took it out of its enclosure and connected it up to my test-enclosure; to no avail I plugged it in directly to the test bench via SATA - But thats when it showed up in the BIOS but not in windows. My question is if there is anything else i can do to confirm that it is dead. There are no audible clicks or noise btw (besides the spinning platters)
  8. The first post's video is the exact same pinout as the one in the picture on the second post that was being discussed (from what i could make out atleast). Long story short, i paused the video in at its start and followed that pinout; and the result was great. I could LAN between the two test-computers Amazing. Thanks guys.
  9. Hey. I was asked by a friend to make a crossover cable for him, but a quick google image search shows various results and combinations in odd orders. Does anybody have a link for me to a legitimate crossover cable pinout albeit it literally "OW - O - GW - B" (and please specify if your pinout has the clip facing down and the pins facing up) Tx
  10. Really awesome project, loved episode 2; Just would love to watch Episode 3 and am willing to pay if an Admin got back to me about my floatplane subscription hint hint
  11. Not up to me that - I'm Returning the laptop on Monday; which is when he planned to sell it. I'll just tell him he needs a new charger
  12. His hard drives detected on my PC in my enclosure; however it is on 51% health which is still usable for the next estimated 421 days. I've powered up the laptop without the HDD but again nothing happens; not even a fan kick. Right now the charger being used - I wouldn't say anything about as it wasnt my choice nor my charger. If it was me I'd not even be sitting with this kind of laptop xD. The chance of this charger being just a single red LED with charging points; rather than a universal; is even a possibility
  13. We've got a reliable universal back at the shop that we use in the workshop; but this laptop has a charging point thats very scarce on even reputable brands' universals. Searching for the OEM charger isnt quite possible because of where i live as we dont have a large variety of options that is cost-effective and doesnt have more than a weeks wait time. The odds are that the charger would cost more than the current selling price of the laptop.
  14. Kingston HyperX Cloud II (If you dont have a good soundcard installed) Kingston HyperX Cloud (If you have a good soundcard installed its a huge +) Corsair Void Wireless/Wired I was in the same situation as you 2 days ago when my G930's broke. Ordered both the Cloud II and the Void the following day. Will arrive next week Gl with yours
  15. Hey everyone My co-worker spun me this story that his laptop he wants to sell; which according to him was working fine before he swapped out the HDD - after which he never tested if it worked again. Now when the customer came in to buy it earlier today he realized it didn't have charge in its battery and went to get a cheap-off-brand universal laptop charger from the regular run-of-the-mill dodge cell-repair shop (Seeing as our workshops universal-charger did not have points that small). He proceeded to plug in the laptop; setting the voltage on the charger and plugging it in to power. No lights appeared and the laptop refused to turn on, plugged in or off. End of the day he gave the laptop to me and paid me some cash to take a look at it for him. I've opened it up and saw no visible-to-the-naked-eye damage to internal components; but proceeded to check the power rating of the laptop on google. I searched for the HP Mini 210-110s power rating on google and found its power rating to be 19V DC, up to 40W - 65W max The off-brand charger he bought's packaging (has a voltage-switch), is rated at 70W at 20V; but the laptop is 19V; so when switched on 19V its running at 3.5A; which equals to 66.5W. And as you can see above ^ Thats above the recommended setting - and the laptop isnt turning on. Could this be a result of the higher wattage?
  16. Thanking you kindly. Wasn't aware of that. Would they be able to help out or just be refering me to someone else?
  17. Hi Ik i've made a post before but i've posted it in the wrong section and got 1 reply as a result of it. I cant make purchases for Floatplane even though i have a verified Paypal account and more than enough funds available. I get the LTT order email and then a "Your automatic payment did not go through" email from Paypal just stating "We couldn't process your automatic payment. Please contact Linus Media Group Inc. to pay what you owe." without any further errors. It doesn't get as far as reaching my bank account. I'm paying with MasterCard which is a supported means of payment via Paypal and hasn't failed me in the past 4 years that I've been using it. I'm able to enter an e-mail address and an amount to Pay too via Paypal directly, but thats as far as it goes. You'll honestly be surprised by the amount of times i've tried now, days inbetween each other. Same result each and every time
  18. If I lived somewhere where public-transport was trustworthy, so - everywhere other than here, I'd +1 your idea.
  19. I've attempted to purchase a floatplane monthly subscription twice now. It takes me to my paypal where i sign in, double checking my banking details and purchasing it. It doesnt take any of my money and i get a paypal email back saying that the payment failed and that i should contact LMG. Is this something i need to check with my bank? I have far more than the required amount in the account its paying from
  20. Thats what im trying to let them notice
  21. Hey guys - probably not the right place for me to post this (please move to right place if your a mod Thanks) I was watching for the VoD version of this Friday's WAN Show and was pretty confused when there were two of them; One that was posted on Friday and one posted last Friday; but both with the same date in the video Thanks guys
  22. The last time i used their trial for a small side-business I just preferred something that was on the local machine rather than online. Freshbook's just didn't have the local-support options i was hoping for it to have as i dont live in any of the countries nor continents their support is located on.
  23. We've been renting out a couple of properties for a while now but due to recent circumstances we'd like to introduce an accounting program that can print invoices and allows us to print and mail or save as PDF and email their accounts + balances outstanding. For the while regular Office invoices have worked out (and lead up to the creation of one insane-mega excel spreadsheet with the different accounts in), but what we want to use it for; Office just doesn't feel suiting anymore. Please give your suggestions? Preferably programs that dont automatically assume your currency as US without giving you an option to change it Thanks and kind regards Flashie
