  1. Hi My Dell Vostro 3700 (I know its very old, and a very cruddy* laptop) has recently been giving me one up to 5 BSOD's a day. I have no idea why it is happening so many times now, but its recently started happening on my new Kingston SSDNow v300 120gb SSD. It has happened many times before as well, but i have absolutely no clue what is causing it, and Microsoft's forums just keeps redirecting and redirecting me to "Fix"s that lead to absolutely nowhere. Here is a log i have of the very most recent BSOD: The laptop is currently not running a version of windows 7 that i have on my dedicated boot memory stick but rather the CD version that i got with the laptop - Just incase anyone is wondering ^. I have not tampered with any of the windows files since except for the Explorerframe.dll, but i have recently also changed it back to the original backup i had of it. If someone could help me out to find the cause or evens fix this, I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks in advanceFlash
  2. Im very curious about it, but i would rather not risk damaging the headset itself. If need be, i will send an email to Prestigio asking for a wire-layout guide, or evens if they will still allow their team to fix it for a bit of money
  3. Not happening to me. Ever considered that its your web browser? A re-install might be worth it
  4. Hi Quite a long while ago, I was having a late night gaming session and my favourite headset's cable wrapped around my chair's leg and when i got up to fetch some water, i tripped over the wire - sending me falling flat on my face - which snapped the cable right loose from the in-line microphone and sound controller. This headset was by far the best one i've used for gaming, evens though it isnt wireless. I would just spend a few more bucks to buy a replacement of this headset, but Prestigio discontinued the product, so im no longer able to find it for sale in my country. A day after the whole cable incident, i decided to wield my soldering iron and fix the mess ive created. Unfortunately, before being able to accomplish anything, i grabbed the wrong end of the soldering iron and wound up burning a few of my fingers on my right hand, so i was out of action for a few days after. Today i tried again, but no soldering iron. I opened up the part where it broke loose, and before being able to do anything, noticed that there are 5 solder points and 5 wires, but the only problem would be, that there is not a guide as to which wire goes to which point. Im hoping that anyone of you's know or can help which colour wire goes to which named point in the picture below. I'f someone could assist me in knowing how to strip the cable's covering without stripping the actual wire under the protective cover, that would be appreciated too. Thanks in advance. Flash
  5. So it isnt a case of it only being my computer? I was just wondering if there isnt a computer out there that can join these type of game servers without the 5 minute added wait-time
  6. Sadly i've done both to no avail
  7. Hi For since i can remember, playing any valve games on steam such as Garry's mod, TF2, CSS, CS:GO all give me a "not responding" fade for a minute or two till it sends client info, and then it does the not responding fade yet again, and finally i am able to connect to the server i want to play. This is a error i took from Garry's Mod while joining a server: This has been a problem ever since i can remember. If it is a hardware problem I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me which piece of hardware is causing it. Ive got a Dell Vostro 3700 (I know I know... i was 11 when i bought it). Here is my laptops specs Dell Vostro 3700 CPU - Intel I7 Q740 1.73GHz Graphics: GeForce GT 330M 1GB RAM: 2x 2GB 1333Mhz Storage: 1x Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB SSD 1x 2.5" 2TB Seagate external HDD Motherboard: Dell Vostro 3700 Nirvana V954F If anyone has any idea what is causing this or why its happening and if it is a hardware problem - what to replace, I'd appreciate it very much as it would make me very happy to play my game without 5 minute delays before joining a server. 8. I use window cleaner on a dust-cloth and rub the monitor in a circular motion
  9. Thanks for the help guys, im going to go ahead and have that 120gb SSD ordered so i can get back to my laptop
  10. Ohohoho lol, Sorry i just googled what a spacer was, boy was i wrong. Currently my disk bay has this in it, Sorry for bad quality i used my phone.
  11. Yes, a spacer i've got, the drive slot also has a anti-static material that it sits on to minimise the static. If i am correct, the picture below is a spacer right?
  12. Hi I own a Dell Vostro 3700 and yesterday, while ingame, the whole laptop just froze. On reboot it did not get further than the "Starting Windows" folder. I rebooted the laptop again in an attempt to get it started, once that attempt didnt work i tried the startup repair. The startup repair was not able to help and its problem signature 07 was "Bad Disk". So in curiosity i took the little 2.5" drive out, hooked it up to my external enclosure and plugged it into another computer. I could access all the files, but when i wanted to transfer a file over 50mb's over to back it up in a last attempt, the drive would simply restart and soon after the head makes a clicking noise. Im very much willing to lose the files on the drive if it means a upgrade to an SSD as all my files that i run off of daily is on an eSATA external drive. So what im basically trying to find out is, will a 2.5" SSD be able to replace this HDD? Will it fit in its 2.5" SATA slot? Will the power supplied to it be too much, too little or just right? Thanks in advance Flashie
  13. Yes, I just tested out the teamspeak one and thats the exact type of thing im talking about. Is it possible in a VoIP or ingame chat? Would one perhaps need something like a soundcard or external soundboard? I'd love to know, this is fun
  14. Thats an awesome headset and has a tonne of features but its not quite got the feature i'd like in it. While im gaming i'd like to be able to talk to the other players via the voice chat through my mic, you know, using my actual voice, and say someone else says something that really crosses the line or breaks the mood, then i'd like to use this sound effect : : but for everybody to be able to hear it, not just me.
  15. Hi, id firstly like to state, im not the most understanding guy when it comes to audio tech, computer tech is more my cup of tea, so go easy on me with all the fancy audio code signs there are out there I've been wondering for a while now whether or not its possible to talk in game on a game that allows voice chat, or evens just a VoIP like Skype, if its possible that one can talk on a mic, but play sound effects that the people your talking to can hear, sorta like sterio mix, without turning off any other recording devices and other unneeded sounds. I hope you guys understand what im trying to say. Thanks Flashie
  16. Im pretty sure his talking about a drive as in something like an external hard drive, or at least a hard drive connected to a computer via USB/Enclosure. The ISO file is a image of a operating system (eg. Windows 7 pro 64-bit; Windows 7 32-bit) that can be downloaded over the internet. I will link you to a site that has all of the ISO images on it. I am not 100% sure about the booting from the hard drive this way, although i will link a guide that i've found to it aswell. ISO Images - http://www.techverse.net/download-windows-7-iso-x86-x64-microsofts-official-servers/ Installing a OS on an external drive - http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-install-windows-7-to-usb-external-hard-drive-must-read/ _____________________________________________ Feel free to correct me if i've made a mistake or misunderstood somewhere.
  17. I may not be the best person with computers but im quite smart when it comes to things like laptops. It sounds like the hard drive has died. What you can do is hook it up to a external enclosure and see if you can recover some of the data from it on another computer. Best option would be to get a new SATA drive, unless you really do want to get your sis a new laptop Goodluck!
  18. Commenting for my entry I would love this GPU as im currently in the market for a good one for my custom rig. I love the way that the 970 and 980 Extreme and amp looks, i like the Amp but i would prefer the Extreme Gaming
