right clicking on my sound icon and clicking on the sound mixer option, i found that the sound settings for mozilla was muted, so i just had to unmute mozilla there.

After looking at my brother RX 6900XT, and having a 5700 since early 2020: Never use Optional AMD drivers. Always go with "Suggested only" drivers.
 
But don't kid yourself, even with officially "stable" drivers, you will still have issues here and there. But the biggest troubles will be solved by using only stable drivers.

I'm looking at getting a new case. I'll use it for my current build but probably be upgrading in February with the 7950x3d. I don't want it taller than 575 mm, ATX motherboard compatible, Capable of holding at least 1 hdd preferably 2. full size PSU. At least 1 sata ssd. and fit a full size GPU currently using a reference 7900xtx, I'm also not 100% on what cooler I will be using in the future. I'm currently using a deepcool 620; i might be getting an assassin 4 if it comes out soon enough or i might be going AIO in which case I'd probably be going 240mm or 280mm. Also preferably all metal panels
 
Right now the most tempting case is the Fractal Pop air. But I have no idea how much space is on the side. I also have a bad taste in my mouth for Fractal as the case I'm currently using that I want to move out of is the Fractal Torrent Compact. Which i've found the top panel to be cheap, flimsy, and break easily. The side panels to get jammed and stuck easily. And inconvenient amount of space on the back panel for all the wiring.

are there many laptops for $600 with a 4700u? It seems like getting a higher end cpu and having to like, get 8gb of ram instead of 16 is going to be worse long term.

Yes, I have high pressure 120x38 fans all over my case. I love them so much I've been using them since 2005.
No they aren't, not by a long shot.

Warning!
1. Installing the D15 when motherboard has been installed in the case will give you pain in the fan installation (clipping the fans onto the heatsink).
 
2. Installing the D15 on the motherboard outside the case before you install the motherboard in the case will give you pain screwing the motherboard to its mounting inside the case.
 
Both gives same pain.
 
 
So prepare yourself and do handle with extreme care as D15 is huge and heavy and the working space is narrow.
 
I can say this because I faced the same problem on installing D15 inside Phanteks Evolv ITX. I think the H200 will be more difficult to work because its top of the case doesn't have as much space as the Evolv ITX has, to install the cooler fan after the motherboard has been installed inside the case. I can remove the Evolv ITX top modular fan mounts to get better access on installing the D15 fans, while NZXT H200 doesn't have roomy top section to work with.

I've seen people comparing the 2600k to the 8700k or the 7700k and there is always small improvements going with the newer CPU, but I think a better test is comparing it to lower end CPUs. If my overclocked CPU is outperforming a non overclocked CPU with a retail price of around $250, then don't i already have a very high end modern gaming CPU? So like if my 2600k outperforms a 7600, then upgrading from my 2600k makes less sense than upgrading from a 7600, right?

i don't think the question is how doable it is, but when do you start shortening the life of the CPU

However, if you're open to the idea, i would probably recommend a AMD system over it.Even in the worst games for AMD, its pretty even between a 7600k and a 1600 and then there are plenty of games and other programs that will take advantage of the 12 threads of a R5 1600 AMD system where it will demolish the 4 threads of a i5 7600k or 6600k. And Ryzen has more things controlled on the chip, so the motherboards tend to be cheaper.

If you want the most future proof CPU, i'd get a r7 1700 or 1800. If you want the cpu with the best average gaming performance right now, i'd get an i7 7700k. If you want the best bang for your buck, i'd get an r5, probably the 1600.

gamer's nexus video is up. Overclocks about the same at the r7, 3.8-4.0Ghz. Gaming performance seems to be pretty identical to a 1700x. So like good, clearly capable of gaming at a high level, but clearly behind most i7's. Outperforming the i5s in games that do a good job of taking advantage of more threads, and in games that don't take advantage of more threads, beating all I5s except the 7600k.
 
So if you want the CPU that will result in the highest benchmarks of today's games, then the 7700k is still the best option. If you're debating between a i5 7600k and a r5 1600, then its tough to make a decision based on today's games, and i think the r5 1600 is a better choice while taking into account future games.

I'm trying to find different options for like 27" or larger 1440p monitors with at least 120hz refresh rate. And like, every monitor website is hell to look through. In the specifications page, it often doesn't mention the refresh rate. You don't know the resolution until looking at the spec page... And like before doing any searching it makes you select a category of monitors. Bitch, i don't care if you call that monitor a work monitor or a professional monitor or a gaming monitor.

my wallet just thanks the mobo makers for sucking at their offerings for Ryzen. I preordered the 1800x then cancelled looking at the current mobo offerings. Now i'm leaning towards just buying an AIO putting it on my 2600k and waiting 6-18 months.

I agree that at the low end it looks like Intel will be very strong but, we still really have no idea how its going to play out. The problem is right now we're basing this off of very limited leaked benchmarks. The benchmarks are close enough where honestly IPC could swing slightly in either brand's favor. We honestly don't know what kind of single core performance difference we're going to see. We also have a little idea how well the 8 core Ryzen's will overclock, but zero idea how well the 6 and 4 core Ryzen's will overclock.

I think Intel will primarily rely on brand loyalty. They might do a small price drop, and i think rumor is they'll release a new I5 with hyper threading that also has a slightly higher clock speed. I would expect Intel's main response to be their from their next line.

yeah, they've announced the x300 chipset which should be enthusiast and mini itx. I am in the same boat as you, want a mitx board with a ryzen CPU. They announced the x300 along with the x370. Keep in mind they have only just today shown the 3 of the CPUs, out of like 12? AMD is keeping things pretty close to the chest. I wouldn't be too concerned about not seeing an x300, i doubt its going to be too long before its out. If it doesn't come out by the 2nd, i'd look at it as an opportunity to wait until Ryzen is thoroughly benchmarked by third parties before ordering.

Might be the first time Intel and AMD are working on the same size process. Intel has clearly been shifting their focus away from desktops over the last 5 years, while AMD has been working on a CPU to target high end desktop for the last 6 years and their efforts will finally materialize in less than a month. If you won't consider Ryzen, you lie and you don't care about money. We haven't seen third party benchmarks but a sub $500 underclocked Ryzen chip is outperforming a $1,100 Intel chip in AMD benchmarks. If you care about money, you have to take that type of thing into account. Maybe it was manipulated and real world performance won't match that, but there is also a possibility that it wasn't.
