  1. right clicking on my sound icon and clicking on the sound mixer option, i found that the sound settings for mozilla was muted, so i just had to unmute mozilla there.
  2. sound works in google chrome. Somehow it's only my headphone sound not working and it's only not working in mozilla
  3. so my headphone sound stopped working in my web browser (mozilla) but it works in discord. and my speakers work in my browser still. So i know my headphones work, and i know the sound in my browser works, but I can't get my browser sound to work with my headphones. And I've tried rebooting the pc and replugging in my headphones.
  4. yeah, I was a bit hesitant of the zenfone 10 because I use Verizon and even the unlocked ones say they aren't compatible with Verizon. But after doing more research it sounds like the lack of CDMA support which is why it's not supposed to be compatible with Verizon is only an issue with Verizon's 3g; so if my area is using Verizon 4g, I should be fine? i think my pixel 5's battery is about to die, less than an hour of web browsing usage and it's below 20%. So it's either risk it with the zenfone 10, suck it up with a bigger phone, like the pixel 7a; or try to replace my phone's battery which doesn't look particularly easy looking at a video on it.
  5. budget is $1200; i don't mind paying a little bit of a premium, but don't want to bush one of those ridiculous super high end phones. I currently have a pixel 5 phone, so something not much bigger than that with a noticeably longer battery life. what I do with it is web browse, use discord, watch videos, use it for directions on how to get somewhere.
  6. are there any phones that are like f it; we're going to put in a less powerful CPU but give you really good battery life?
  7. i'm not seeing the option in Malwarebytes to do that
  8. hmm, well i downloaded it and gave it a go. One thing is, it doesn't seem like it takes very long to do a scan; I suspect it's not doing a very thorough scan. I wonder if there is a default setting i need to change somewhere.
  9. i've tried scans through windows threat protection. Is there a better option?
  10. super high end PC, 1300w psu, 13900k, 7900xtx, 64gb of ram. 75% usage of ram and i don't even have a web browser open. When not doing anything. Mouse cursor is stuttering even when just using discord or web browsing. No singular program seems to be consuming a lot of ram, but there appears to be a lot of processes with Service Host the beginning of the name. I'm wondering if this is some kind of virus.
  11. RMA'd the card. Actually right before I sent the card back, I literally could not boot into windows with the card installed. Used a gtx 970 with no drivers installed when I was waiting, and it worked fine. New card (i assume it's a different card they sent me) still has some occasional stuttering. I noticed with the previous card and persistent with this card, that when i noticed videos in firefox would stutter, even when not playing videos, just moving more mouse when browsing my computer, the mouse would stutter. So i'm pretty sure it's just piss poor drivers for AMD causing the issue. I have only noticed Adrenaline crash once with this card so far though.
  12. I don't think I've had a game crash on me in awhile, but there are a couple performance things that might be related. It's not uncommon for for videos on Firefox to become very choppy; and I tried a bunch of things to do with firefox to have that to stop be the case and none of them seem effective at doing so. Occasionally there will be discoloration on a picture, I think usually there like being a purple splotch when there shouldn't be that rebooting seems to fix. There is sometimes a screen dooring effect on my main monitor and often times if i check my refresh rate, the refresh rate would be 60hz instead of 270 with no option to set it back to 270hz. I used to suspect my monitor was dieing despite being about 2 years old, but my second monitor would also be stuck at 59.940hz with no option to set it back to 144hz. So I suspect it's software related and no monitor related. Also right now my second monitor is stuck at 59.940hz.
  13. ok, did all that last night and again on boot up this morning, amd Adrenalin crashed
  14. i did, to the first 2, but i'll give it another go! Also, never used powershell before
  15. Most times i reboot my PC I get a notification as soon as windows loads that AMD adrenaline has crashed. And then I frequently get a notifcation when just web browsing. This has happened since i bought the 7900xtx at launch and I've kept my drivers up to date religiously with none of the drivers being particularly stable. At the beginning I figured whatever, new videocard problems; but it's been about 6 months now, I don't know why this is persisting. windows 10 64 bit 7900xtx z 790 Aero G motherboard i9-13900k 32gb x 2 1300w seasonic psu
  16. I updated bios now the computer won't turn off. I turned off fast startup in bios and in windows. I literally have to unplug the PC to have it off. And then if I plug the PC back in, it will turn on without me pressing the power button.
  17. yes, trying another power strip doesn't help. grounding in the house is fine.
  18. to describe the problem first. mic just makes a bunch of static sound now. If I unplug the audio interface and then plug it in the static is much quieter and then slowly ramps up. The volume of my speech does not ramp up though I have a Earthworks Ethos Condenser microphone plugged into a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd gen USB audio interface. Which is then plugged into my Gigabyte Aero 790 motherboard which is powered by a 1300W seasonic PSU. I'm using Windows 10. I have tried adjusting the volume level set through the audio interface and through windows, lowering the volume does not remove the static. There is also no microphone boost option. I have tried unplugging both ends of the cable from the microphone to the audio interface and back again. i have tried unplugging and replugging in both sides of the usb cable between the audio interface and the PC. I have tried plugging the usb cable into 3 different motherboard ports and have tried plugging it into a usb hub plugged into the motherboard, I have tried updating drivers for the motherboard and I have installed software for the audio interface. I have plugged in my old at2020 usb mic in one of the usb ports i tried with the audio interface and the old mic works fine. I'm starting to think the audio interface might have died.
  19. I'm looking for a android phone with wireless charging and a long battery life. A nice camera, and fast wireless charging wouldn't hurt. It being smaller would be nice as well but that's not a priority.
  20. I'm looking at getting a new case. I'll use it for my current build but probably be upgrading in February with the 7950x3d. I don't want it taller than 575 mm, ATX motherboard compatible, Capable of holding at least 1 hdd preferably 2. full size PSU. At least 1 sata ssd. and fit a full size GPU currently using a reference 7900xtx, I'm also not 100% on what cooler I will be using in the future. I'm currently using a deepcool 620; i might be getting an assassin 4 if it comes out soon enough or i might be going AIO in which case I'd probably be going 240mm or 280mm. Also preferably all metal panels Right now the most tempting case is the Fractal Pop air. But I have no idea how much space is on the side. I also have a bad taste in my mouth for Fractal as the case I'm currently using that I want to move out of is the Fractal Torrent Compact. Which i've found the top panel to be cheap, flimsy, and break easily. The side panels to get jammed and stuck easily. And inconvenient amount of space on the back panel for all the wiring.
  21. i mean, I saw the exact same thumb drive same price on amazon and newegg, so thought it was likely legit. ordered it off newegg because i didn't see any indication it was a third party. And it was fake. I did get a refund at least.
  22. Any tips for picking out a thumb drive that is actually the size it says it is?
  23. yeah, i'm leaning towards an i5, but like, is an i3 really going to need to be replaced? Like how many people are really having issues with a modern i3 bottlenecking their games?
  24. thanks, I was leaning towards the 12400F honestly. I am in the US. Money isn't super tight, it's just not a burning money type of thing. I don't want to be like oh yeah, you need to spend $400 on a CPU.
