I would suggest the SAMA IM01 instead. Since it can fit mATX, you don't have to spend on expensive ITX components. And it is actually not that much bigger.

I would go with a cpu that's easier to cool since you already are getting a 4090. There's rarely a use case for CPU only rendering in mainstream render engines.

Here's the lg v10 in comparison to a modern oled screen from a cheap xiaomi phone

Whats odd to me is that you seem to be fine carrying batteries and bulky wired headphones but a compact powerbank with wireless charging and a small dongle are a no go? I'm not asking you to change your phone before it breaks but too many things contradict your preferences. You'd rather not have a notch or a cutout for the phone but you'd have the home/back navigation cluster still in your screen? You'd carry headphones and batteries but a dongle and a powerbank is too much? You like the high quality recording but a modern phone that can record in higher bitrate is not good? You'd take a minute of reboot but the 5 second it takes for you to place the small powerbank behind the phone for qi charging is too inconvenient?

LCD vs OLED, its not even close.

The LG v10 unfortunately loses out to phones older than itself when it came to recording audio. Although impressive for its time, phones these days also have stereo and can record at higher bitrates than the lg v10.

A hole in the screen means a screen to body ratio that's closer to 90% compared to the v10's 70%. I won't be missing the secondary screen if you ask me.

Minor correction, I do believe that the v10 did not get the quad dac. Only the v20 and up. It is still an impressive audio setup. Specs wise the quad dac on my v30 would have beaten the apple dongle but sonically they sound the same. I had no problems powering my gear with the apple dongle, which is telling since they're also highly praised by the audiophile community. The gear can be high impedance but as long as they are sensitive enough the apple dongle will be fine.

Battery tech has come along way so these days you can have small high capacity powerbanks that are also wireless charging capable. What's more mobile and convenient would be this option cause then you wouldn't be needing to shutdown your phone whenever your battery runs out.

I disagree, the v30 was the phone where LG introduced many well thought out features. Content creation on this was truly a step up from the previous 2. You can even shoot in LOG. This was wayyyy before apple introduced the proraw feature.

You should be fine with the AMD CPU. Ultimately you will want to base your decision off of price:performance regardless of the brand. I would however suggest you to get 64GB of ram. 32 wasn't cutting it for me. I do deal with heavier scenes and assets often.

It is possible that the user did indeed have the connector plugged in fully.

One thing I've noticed on my 4090s is that the clip is on the bottom side of the connector. So if the GPU is horizontally mounted onto the motherboard, gravity pulls the whole cable downwards. This happens even if you have the 12pin fully seated with a "click".

So even if the side of the connector is seated flushed, the top isn't. Over time gravity itself might have loosened the connector. Doesn't help that the pins are so short too.

Definitely do check your cables from time to time and make sure it is plugged all the way in.

Warranty on those units is 10 years. I wouldn't change the PSU. Those things don't lose operational capacity as they age that easily when you buy something of quality. I another PSU that's 12 years old and its running that same as it did on day 1.

I would safely run those things till the warranty is over.

someone sent a message asking about the waterways and fin denisty. The fin denisty is not that important, this cooler has similar fin denisty to mass produced products from companies like ekwb etc, and not even their hig end stuff. To get a great design you need a path in wich the water is in contact with as much surface as possible(fins), thats why more fins generally equate to bigger surface area, however you want the water to do so in the least amount of time, because as the water goes over then fin, it can only pick up a couple of degrees. Anyone can build a really high fin denisty block, the key is to make a block that can keep good flow. the limiting factor for the BL design is not just the center block that distruputes the water, its also the gpu cooling block, way to restrictive in flow. the biggest problem with the senter block is that it distrubutes the water to the cpu and gpu in series not parallel.

I share the same sentiments. What Billet Labs have produced is essentially a full cooper $800 cpu + gpu block. I'm am not on LTT's side here but I do take issue with GN's move to make Billet Labs the ultimate victims in these fiasco, I believe it should be the viewers.

A closer look at the block would already tell you that this is an absurdly priced product that performs marginally better than cheaper solutions at best. The testing from BL themselves do not have standardised ambient temps when testing against competitors which would make it seem like their product performs much better. Competitor products have been tested with higher ambient temps but the highlighted green boxes on the BL product would make it seem like they were performing much better.

Any competitor wanting to produce a similar block would be able to do so without that price tag and the actual product from billet labs.

Their move to reject the original prototype that they were disappointed loosing also weakens the IP and competitor arguments. This part of the argument should never have been made. GN themselves have no problems advertising companies who have made products that were copies of products from smaller companies. The move to also advertise their "cheaper" products on the same breath as their official response it does not make a good look too.

There can be more than one shady player in this fiasco.

Here's another option for your consideration. Maxed out the budget with dual 4090s but you can remove one of those if you really don't have the need for 2.

CPU: Although it doesn't render as fast as the 7950x, you're not doing that with the CPU. Animation playback in the viewer for maya and blender really favour the fast single core of the 13900k. Physics baking would also also favor fast single cores.

Cooler: You may wonder why the air cooler and that's because you'll probably be running this for long periods and the pump of an AIO isn't really going to hold up nor will it be the quietest in operation. Since you are unlikely to be stressing all the cores on the CPU anyway the noctua would hold up nicely.

Case: This case is big enough to accommodate multiple GPUs. It does also include sound dampening material in the case. So all the buzzing and coil whine from your high powered components will be less audible.

These are the components I'd pick for my personal workstation at home. They're chosen for minimal noise during operation and the most performance for the generalist workflow. The rest of the other builds above would be fine too.

There's editing, rendering and compositing 4k footage in Resolve/Fusion as well but I don't really forsee it being heavy enough to warrant a second GPU. But the suggestion was still a good thought experiment for me so thanks.

Kinda Bottlenecked got a reaction from Uttamattamakin in Microsoft lays off an ethical AI team as it doubles down on OpenAI
If what the "sources" say in the article is true, then it is concerning. Having the team would likely help with a smoother adoption of AI in society by weighing its impacts. Prioritizing profits over that is risky for sure. We've seen the bad side of AI tech as much as the good ones and in order to progress, society itself has to decide the code of ethics for this tech.

Else, it might just be the typical organizational restructure. Or if not, they might have gone ahead to form an external organization that governs AI ethics.

It is the name "AI art generation".

Thanks for the lengthy reply but I do feel that you are also agreeing with me slightly.

This very phrase would agree with me because both you and I know that the AI does not give you any instructions, it does it for you. The current law would say that one has to be the mastermind of the scene. Which unfortunately for this specific case the author of the comic did not achieve.

There is a slight misunderstanding here, what I meant by "machine assisted human creation" can also involve an AI, so if one uses SD or something else in the pipeline to achieve a final piece that is a derivative of the SD generation this would be counted as a "machine assisted human creation" because I am not bound by set parameters and I am working "upwards" to build a final composition.

When purely using AI art generation you're working "down" from the millions of images that the model has been trained on to then choose the one single image from the seed that you fancy the most. This an entirely difference process altogether.

When you point and shoot, you're the one deciding your subject in frame and you're the one in charge of the composition.

No I have not. Which is why I specify that in this case where the author has done next to nothing to transform or alter the AI artwork is more of a "human assisted machine creation". If you're looking carefully at my posts you would realize that the way humans are interfacing with AI art generating model currently is too limiting and does not ensure that the user is the one masterminding the actual composition is what I'm driving at.

What you have done here is decide that for me, which is exactly what all the AI art generation models do now.
