The Face reacted to Linx105 in ISP recommendation (Saskatoon)
Your best bet will be Sasktel. You might find other company out there but most likely they will be a resale company selling you a Sasktel service.

I think SaskTel has, or will have FTTH through the entire city. No caps.

The Face reacted to hobodozer in I made a thing.
So I was rather bored this morning and had a machine on hand that had rampant overheating problems. I decided to remedy this with some stuff I had lying around the house and the end result works surprisingly well considering what it is. No leaks....yet.
My temps went from 190+ to sub 100 with this setup. This machine is by no means good, just an experiment if anything, specs are as follows:
AMD Phenom x4 9850 Black Edition @2.5GHz
8GB DDR2 800MHz
ASUS M4A785-M motherboard
Random crap mechanical drive running Windows 7 x64
What do you guys think?

The Face reacted to iruixos in New Platform Launch Feedback & FAQ
So new signups for Vessel get a year free, but the existing users don't? I've seen this trick before.
If that's the case, then I already dislike this service.
EDIT: Support says existing users should get it too, but I haven't - not sure if it has affected other people.
EDIT2: All fixed. Now the player won't work on Firefox when HD is set to 'on' but it works in Chrome

The Face reacted to dfsdfgfkjsefoiqzemnd in hdd/ssd Hot swap capable , PCI/PCIe expansion slot
Not if you want to quickly make a clone or backup of an internal SSD.
There are also some other possibilities. If you have an identical setup in 2 locations (divorced parents perhaps?) it can be handy to just put the OS and programs on an SSD and put such bays on each PC so you can use the same OS wherever you are.

This was awesome! It reminds me of the adventure I had trying to build my PC last summer. 100% interested.

As much as multi-part videos make me want to smash a table... This series could be amazing. First episode is really promising.

The Face reacted to Opcode in Netflix On Linux (No WINE Or Silverlight)
Here, I am going to make a in depth guide of how to run Netflix on Linux without WINE or Silverlight. This means no Netflix Desktop or Pipelight.
First off we need to establish that you are running a Ubuntu 12.04 LTS or 14.04 LTS based distribution (or newer) with the understanding that you will have to use Chrome in order for this to work.
The first thing we need to do is to ensure that the Network Security Services packages are up to date (skip for Ubuntu 14.10).
dpkg -l libnss3 If you have a version above 3.16.2 then you're ready to install Chrome.
Otherwise if your version is below 3.16.2 then you need to run the software updater and install the latest updates (should give you version 3.17.1).
cd /tmpwget http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/n/nss/libnss3-nssdb_3.17.1-0ubuntu0.14.04.1_all.debwget http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/n/nss/libnss3_3.17.1-0ubuntu0.14.04.1_i386.debsudo dpkg -i libnss3* cd /tmpwget http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/n/nss/libnss3-nssdb_3.17.1-0ubuntu0.14.04.1_all.debwget http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/n/nss/libnss3_3.17.1-0ubuntu0.14.04.1_amd64.debsudo dpkg -i libnss3* cd /tmpwget https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.debsudo dpkg -i google-chrome-stable* -

The Face got a reaction from MatazaNZ in Co-op games for long distance couple
If your down for some serious dungeons and dragons style role playing check out the divinity series. Divinity: Original Sin is about 2 source hunters (guy/girl) who can get up to anything from solving a murder, to helping a feline brother hook up with his lady friend. It's more of a long term game, but can be picked up and started again in small doses.
