Because AMDs IPC or simply single thread performance sux dix compared to intel and like 90% of programs / games prefer better single thread performance over more cores.

Completely legit, turn off G2A Shield to save money as I have bought 15+ games and never needed it

If you ever go to Micro-Atx PLEASE don't get the Aerocool DS Cube. It looks great but it's a little bitch to build in and trouble shoot.

To be fair, most opinions come from people who have never had an experience with Alienware while this man has.

    Yes it does.

It's only a maximum of like 5fps difference from a card half it's size and air cooled vs water cooled.

Match clock speeds and maybe they perform the same.

Does it really matter how long it lasts? The purpose of extreme overclocking is to see how far you can push things, not to baby it with 1.2v and say "omg i can do 4.8 ghz 24/7!"
As long as the CPU is nice and cold while you smash it with tons of voltage, degradation isn't as big of a deal as on ambient cooling.

I don't see your point about the modules.

The i7 is a similar technology, it is not a con.

New stuff always costs more, Haswell will be cheaper until it runs out. Skylake is technically better(raw performance), however its not like it was a huge improvement from Haswell either.

If you wanna play the space game, it takes just as much power as 2 290xs (more actually) and takes a 120mm fan slot as well.
a dual gpu is not like a 'dual core' cpu or anything, it's literally 2 cards running in crossfire duct taped together.

If NVIDIA decided to release a dual titan x (oh god) it would smash this, given they weren't as retarded as they were with the titan z (which was 2 titan blacks and was a complete failure)

Make no mistake. This is 2 290xs duct taped into once nice unit. The differences in performance of  a dual gpu card over 2 single cards is only determined by any minor difference like potentially lowered clock (lol titan z) and terrible cooling (titan z and 7990)

Perhaps you forgot about that monster 7990?

Cause this is basically the same thing as the 295x2 with 7970s, just whoever designed the 295x2 had the smarts to offload the cooling to an AIO
I almost bought a 295x2 myself, they finally had the balls to water cool a reference card and it turned out nice. In fact, I will likely buy the next dual GPU card AMD does if it's not a 4GB card and they did everything right liket he 290x. Would go nicely in my 380t. (I had less budget and got a 970 reference -.-. Would have been nice to fold on one 290x and game on the other)
But it 2 cards and operates as such. Games must support crossfire, or a work around must be present. It won't use both cards in a non-fullscreen game. Some games have micro stutter issues still. Just like sticking 2 NVIIDIA cards in SLI, there are benefits and there are issues. The nature of the performance is not the same as a single gpu. It has one card draw a frame, then the other. You can only run 2 of them in the same machine for crossfire, well because that's 4 cards. They CANNOT perform better than 4 well cooled 290xs . And 4 of whatever NVIDIA is limping to the barn with would beat 2 290x2s (4 gpus vs 4 gpus, the best possible performance you can attempt). The 295x2 is simply 2 cards in a nice convenient form factor
If a game doesn't support it at all or for some reason it only uses 1 gpu, it's still a 290x, which is pretty damn good so worst case scenario any sane game would run great with crossfire disabled.

Dual gpus are their own category, and AMD smashed NVIDIA with the 295x2 compared to the titan z, which had potential to be faster and cost twice as much on launch(which adds to the embarrassment ).

    You're both right.
It is a single card yet a dual GPU.
    P.s if dual GPUs count , 980 SLI > 295x2
