First time trying drifting with an automatic (Ford Mustang, don't know which year model).

It felt so weird without the clutch, you only relied on the throttle and ebrake.

It was much easier to drift at first (you just floor the gas during a turn or just yank the ebrake), but maintaining the drift was harder in my opinion.

I usually do a clutch kick whenever the car starts to grip the track again....

That time...

If I added more gas...

  • If the car gripped, I'd crash so badly.
  • If the car did maintain drift, I'd spin out.

If I yanked the ebrake the car would slow down and went off course (this case I'd hit the cones).

I decided to let off the throttle and let the car gripped the track again and redid my run, the next attempt went well.

wow thats pretty cool though on a spiritual level drifting in an automatic hurts me...

    Never drift a muscle >_<

So damn hard to control, I legit almost hit lots of cones (at least it wasn't the crowd).

But it's very easy to initiate the drift, V8 powaaah (I thought it was an EcoBoost for a second, oof it was a V8).

It was a bit awkward because I'm used to drift at around 6000-10000RPM (still used to the rotariiies) while this, around 4000-5000RPM was already more than enough.
