I was complaining about my internet speeds (1 down, 0.2 up, 625ms latency <.<) and my uncle pipes in and says that he has 300 Mbps. I asked him if he had fibre and he replies: "No, I have normal internet, the company said it was 5 Mbps but I tricked them into giving me better internet because I bought a 300 Mbps router." I walked away and then died laughing...

Are you sure you didn't increase the load on the CPU? I'm going to take a guess and say the humidity in the room could've affected your PC.
