falsedell got a reaction from T.Vengeance in Pop or Soda?
I've lived in Kentucky my entire life. for 20+ years I called it Pop. Then I graduated college and remained in Lexington...I've started calling it Soda. I had an ex-girlfriend who called it Coke. I wanted to punch her in the face every time she said it because she very rarely drank a Coca-Cola.

    What follows is personal opinion...

To be shooting for 2000+ on the SAT and 30+ on the ACT, you have to be decently intelligent. If you are borderline, enroll in the cheapest course possible. I never enrolled in any course, and I think I did pretty well. I mean, I had parents of other kids asking me to tutor their children. All I could tell them, and all I can really tell you, is, eat a good breakfast. The last thing you want is to be in the middle of the exam and be thinking about food.

My first time taking the ACT I didn't eat breakfast and ended up getting a 26 as a 14-year-old. By the time I was 16 I realized I needed plenty of sleep and to eat breakfast...ended up with a 33.

I don't know how they've changed the SAT, the high score was 1600 back in my day, but sleep and breakfast is still my number one key.

It definitely could be. But I bottleneck the network adapter on it almost 24/7, so gaming, and especially gaming online would be near impossible.

Maybe it will be when I can save up enough funds to build an HTPC, but thanks to Student Loans, that won't be happening for quite a while.

I'm using an Ikea Galant Left Corner desk with an extension on the left, a quarter round extension on the right, and two Galant shelves to put my towers on display.

Heck, I haven't even updated this thread with a current picture of my setup. I've cleaned it up a bit. I'll do that when I get home from work.

Absolutely. The system on the left is my main rig. The one I use for everything except gaming/streaming. The system on the right is to be used for gaming/streaming. I decided last night that I wanted to start streaming my gameplay, mainly as a reason to force myself to play the games I've purchased.

So I want to stream using ShadowPlay. It seems a lot easier to me than setting up the right scenes/screens and all that mess. I ran into a bit of a problem that took me quite a while to figure out. I could stream to Twitch using ShadowPlay on my main rig, but not my gaming rig. Come to find out ShadowPlay won't stream at resolutions higher than 1920x1080. Thus I was forced to rotate my gaming displays to landscape. It sucks because it takes up a TON more room on the desktop. Three 24-inch monitors in landscape stretches a little over 5 feet. I now have TWO of those set up.

I'm actually running 2 systems. The one in this thread is my gaming rig. The "other one" is my main rig. My main rig is running with the help of 2 EVGA ACX 760s.

Both systems are running at 5760x1080.

Thank you. If the weather stays clear, and I don't have to work on Saturday, I'll be making a run to Ikea to get another shelf for my desk. I will promptly attached said shelf and raise both of my towers up to show them off.

Don't worry, I've measured/weighed everything. I should have no problems making sure everything is safe.

It is very difficult. The day I completed this build, and thus the first night with this setup, I didn't go to sleep until 6am.

I've come a long way since I fried the integrated GPU in my laptop by constantly hooking up a 2nd monitor.

I've looked, but I can not find what the limitations of this warranty are.

Quality: 5 of 6 are in perfect, brand new condition. The 6th does have some top edge light bleed, but it is only noticeable on a solid, dark screen which I almost never have up.

Warranty: I'll be honest, I don't pay attention to warranty after 30 days. If it lasts more than 30 days before it messes up, it is usually my own fault. The only product I have ever had start messing up after 30 days that wasn't my fault was my iPhone 4. I know there are always accidents, but take care of your stuff and you are golden.

falsedell got a reaction from Teletha in 780 SLI how to configure with surround
The main thing is that you plug all displays you want to be used in Surround into the top card. In the nVidia Control Panel you need to set up Surround using a single GPU (it defaults to the top card in my experience). The surround setup will use the DVI-D, DVI-I, and DisplayPort for the surround. If you have a display plugged into the HDMI it will be an auxiliary display. Any displays connected to the bottom card will also be auxiliary displays.

I am currently running 2 EVGA 760s in SLI with 7 total displays connected, so I speak from experience.

EDIT: If all three displays you want to use for Surround are using HDMI inputs you will need 2 DVI-to-HDMI converters and a DisplayPort-to-HDMI converter. The two DVI displays can both be plugged into the bottom GPU and work as auxiliary displays.

EDIT 2: Since you will be using HDMI, I'm guessing all displays will be 1920x1080. You should be able to use either Active or Passive converters for that resolution. I read that on an article for Eyefinity, so I hope the same is true for nVidia Surround.
