I want to start off by saying - I've been using the low profile for about 2 months now - on and off and comparing it to the Blackwidow Elite - with yellow switches and the the Corsair K70 Rapidfire
I like everything about the Corsair K70 Low Profile - Except the " feel " of the switches -
Compared to a blackwidow Elite with linear yellow switches or to any other Corsair with Normal cherry linear switches - the low profile switches feel like damp newspaper -
They are tiring to type on and feel like you're in a constant fight while typing and also - the low profile cherry switches are slow to return after a key press -
To sum it up - IMHO - Cherry dropped the ball big time - they tried to do something good and instead took a step backwards - the low profile switches suck - Period -
If u want a damp newspaper feel - go buy it -
I love K70's and have 2 that I use on and off -
The low profile K70 is going to be sold asap - After using my Blackwidow Elite and K70 Rapidfire - there is no room for a damp Newspaper K70 low Profile -
Sorry Cherry - but your low profile switches suck  - better luck next time
Although I like Corsair and the K70 in particular  - I strongly suggest to everyone reading this that if you're  considering getting into mechanical keyboards to go try out the new Razer Blackwidow Elite -
Yellow switches for linear and green switches for clicky - Overall best pre built mechanical keyboard IMHO

actually it's a GREAT board for typing - it just takes a bit of getting used to -
The BEST thing about this board is that there is ZERO !!! key wobble - literally - Every switch has it's own stabilizer bar and eliminates key wobble completely.
I own 3 Corsair  K70 models with red , speed and blue switches and a Razer BW V2 and I can honestly say once you experience the huntsman and feel the zero key wobble switches there's no going back to wobble cherry switches with Rattling space bars
The huntsman comes out the box 100% ready - no need to customize - lube the stabilizers etc .. - it's just perfect .
as for the comment about the squeaking stabilizers - that has to be an isolated example - I've personally tried 3 different huntsman keyboards and they were all 100% perfect

I have to admit - I put a lot of effort into this review because i feel after all the negative stuff in the keyboard community regarding the older Razer QC issues over the past few year s - Razer has gone the extra mile and put a lot of research into creating an exceptional product -
I truly am unbiased in what I've said in my review -
I own 3 Corsair Boards - with Red's , silver and blues - and I love them - but the space bars on all 3 boards Rattle and feel loose and mushy compared to the huntsman -
there is something else that I found on the Corsair K70 Lux RGB with the Cherry MX blues which bothers me - but I only noticed it after using the huntsman -
the long keys on the K70 Lux with the blues - the keys with the stabilizer bars are not easy to bottom out - they work just fine and actuate with no problem but it requires a lot of force to bottom them out -
This is due to the fact that the Cherry Stabilizers were not installed correctly or there's a QC tolerance problem - The stabilizers on ALL the long keys required a hard forceful hit to get them to bottom out -
I myself like feeling the keys hit the bottom lightly when I type -
I can honestly say that after a few hours on the Razer huntsman elite - there's no going back to a corsair board anytime soon - Unless corsair fixes the QC issues -
Like I said in my review -
anyone that enjoys Mechanical Keyboards - Even Razer Haters - you MUST check out the Huntsman Elite - it really is something special

To anyone thinking about getting the new Razer Huntsman Elite keyboard - here's a quick head's up .
Just a quick background about keyboards that I own and have used over the past few years as a reference point for comparison.
    1. Corsair K70 Vengence - Cherry MX Red
    2. Corsair K70 RGB Rapidfire - Cherry MX Silver ( Speed )
    3. Corsair K70 LUX RGB - Cherry MX Blue
    4. Razer Blackwidow Chroma - Gen 1 - Khail Green switches ( Razer Branded )
    5. Razer Blackwidow Chroma  V2 - Greetech Green Switches ( Razer Branded )

    Razer Huntsman Elite

    Pros
1.Excellent build quality - Way better than ANY other mechanical keyboard I've ever used
    2.Aluminum top ( Metal )
    3.Excellent RGB Lighting
4.Best feeling Mechanical switches I've ever used - Bar None - Goodbye Cherry MX Blues - or any other clicky tactile switch - these opto mechanical switches are off the charts -
5.The switches are light to press - they're advertised as 45g but they feel more like 40g  - very satisfying and very even across THE ENTIRE keyboard - wherever u press the keys feel the same
6.ZERO KEY WOBBLE ON EVERY KEY - yes you heard right - Razer has actually managed to eliminate key wobble - Finally - a mechanical switch with ZERO !!! key wobble - EVERY SINGLE SWITCH has it's own dedicated stabilizer bar.
7.Excellent key caps - IMHO - although people swear by PBT Double shot keycaps - I find they make the keys sluggish on the return after the down-stroke - lighter key caps allow the key to return faster - more responsive
8.Excellent RGB implementation - GREAT Brightness to the LED illumination. - all round illumination - multi Zone including the wrist rest.
    9. the space bar has ZERO rattle compare to the Corsair space bars I've used - which ALL have some form of rattle and are noisy and irritating and mushy feeling
    10. 100 million keystroke lifespan
    11. lazer actuation - ZERO key-chatter - and the click coincides perfectly with actuation
    12. - very fast key presses are possible with this switch which surpasses all others I've used
    13. no finger fatigue after long gaming sessions compared to Cherry MX switches -

    Cons
1.some of the keys have a very slight pinging sound due to the spring - but this is very minor compared to other boards on the market -
2.Wrist rest is uncomfortable because although it has nice padding - the metal sides cut into my wrist - I like the design and like the fact that it's also metallic - but in practice I find the the edges cut into my wrist and therefore I've made my own wrist rest and am not using the included one - even though it has lighting etc... I cannot get used to it
3.Another issue with the wrist rest is that its slightly too low  - but that's something I could learn to live with -
    4. Synapse 3.0 is still in beta stage and is kinda buggy - but it works and I'm sure will improve

    Purple Opto-Mechanical key Switches
Razer have included a stabilizer bar on EVERY SINGLE SWITCH which COMPLETELY eliminates key wobble  - which plagues 99% of mechanical switches on every keyboard out there that I've tried.
the key switch design also incorporates a lazer which means there is NO key chatter or double letter actuation when doing fast double taps in gaming applications - this is another huge plus for this switch
the purple switch used in this keyboard is clicky and tactile - kinda like a cherry mx blue but it's silky smooth and less force is necessary to press down- I have a board with Cherry MX blues  and I can honestly say that the purple Razer switch is superior in EVERY way  - buttery smooth - , 45 g as opposed to 60 g ( cherry blue ) and ZERO KEY WOBBLE - and even actuation across the entire keyboard

    Space Bar
I have to make a special mention regarding the excellent space bar on this keyboard - there is ZERO rattle or wobble associated with this space-bar -
On ALL my Corsair keyboards the space bar rattles and is noisy and also has a mushy feeling - this is in part due to the cherry MX Stabilizer design - but it's mainly due to the fact the QC on the Corsair boards has slipped considerably in the last few years - it's sad that success and popularity causes greed and manufacturers let tolerance levels slip just to make sure demand is met -
the quality that made a name for Corsair keyboards isn't there anymore in my experience - I have 3 corsair keyboards and after using the huntsman I will NEVER go back to the rattling space bar of the Corsair keyboards -
I have to say that I still love the Corsair boards Design but unless they fix the flaws and Rattling components their fan base will go elsewhere where quality is better

Overall the Razer huntsman Elite  is easily THE BEST  Mechanical keyboard I've ever used - Build Quality , Opto-Mechanical switches , key feel when typing or gaming ,LED lighting - metal top - volume control / mute switch / media controls - NON RATTLING space Bar , even feel across the entire keyboard , light feeling actuation , Longevity ( 100 million lifespan )
all this combines into the most professional looking and feeling keyboard and the switches and typing experience  puts the huntsman into a class of it's own -
Corsair , Ducky, Poker , Wasd.... and any other keyboard Manufacturer that has aspired to " The BEST " title has been dethroned by this keyboard IMHO -
this is easily verified - Just go into a Store that has these in stock and try one out and you'll see - these switches are on another level - and the build quality of Razer has gone up 100 %
FWIT - I live in South Africa and have NO affiliation to Razer in any  form whatsoever  - this mini review is my personal opinion
Also - the keyboard isn't on sale locally yet - but will be in a few weeks time -
I imported it directly from Amazon  USA after reading a few reviews from RandomfrankP and Brainbean and a few others
Anyone that loves mechanical keyboards - you HAVE to check out this new offering from Razer - which has had many skeptics in the past - they have lifted their game and have produced a winner in every way

I don't Hate Logitech - I LOVE the G502 mouse - - but after using mechanical keyboards for about 5 years now - I have to say the truth about how I feel - it has nothing to do with hate or rage in any way - I just really feel the Romer -G switches are complete rubbish - Period - they have almost ZERO tactile feel and feel mushy like damp newspaper.
the only good idea about the Romer G switches is the light pipe in the center which ensures an even distribution of light in the center of the switch .
the feel of the switch itself has no character and feels like damp newspaper to type on - that's " my " opinion - if other people like them - that's fine -
I would recommend anyone thinking of buying a Romer G equipped keyboard to first A-B it with a cherry MX Blue, Red or Brown switch side by side and then decide if you like damp newspaper or a proper tactile switch -

No problem dude  . When you boot into the bios, you can update it directly from there, so yea I'm on Ver 1.80.  If you are planning on just keeping it at 4.7ghz, you could then slowly lower the voltage. that's what i did, I started at 1.25v and worked my way down. Funny enough, I've just upped mine from 1.21v to 1.22 on 4.8Ghz and its pretty stable.

I don't know much about the cooler, but i can vouch for the motherboard you're using, I have it myself

I haven't come across any issues with it, the bios is easy to use and setup an overclock. There is pre-set overclock profiles, so you could use them, thought they have voltages set way above what they could be for less.

For other coolers, I would consider looking at some of these:
    Noctua NH-D15
    Dark Rock Pro 3
    CRYORIG R1 Ultimate

I have the 8700k at 4.7Ghz at 1.21v and I'm happy with it.  Expect great performance from it. I came from an i5 6500, and i could easily see the difference in performance all across the board.

I personally wont go for 5ghz as i don't really see the gains from it.

Jessop got a reaction from Velcade in Razer Blackwidow Chroma - V1 vs V2
To all the people that want to know all the differences between V1 and V2 - this is for you
Firstly - I just want to say up front that I have had my V1 for about 2 years and the V2 since Dec 2017 and I've used it almost constantly for about 4 months .
    I also have a Corsair K70 Rapidfire RGB  and a K70 Vengence since 2015.
Ok so firstly - the original V1 Blackwidow had many issues with the khail - Razer green switches -
Many people compared them to the cherry MX Blues and the Khails came up short in many ways -
Inconsistent feel and click ( sound ) across the keyboard - many switches failed after a few months and stopped clicking and started to feel like MX Browns
Another big problem with the Khail Greens is that they have quite a bit more key wobble that the Cherry MX Blues
also - the display on the top right for caps lock , scroll lock and num lock was almost hidden under the plastic face-plate and was hardly visible
So to recap - the main issue with the Original Blackwidow Chroma was the key switches -
    now onto the V2 -
The Razer Blackwidow V2 was improved in quite a few ways but i've noticed something that I haven't seen in any review so far .- but I'll get to that in a moment
to start off - the display on the top right for caps lock , num lock ... was improved and was given a clear plastic section with clear indicators - Nice .
Also - the font was made slightly smaller and looks better to many people - but to me I think it was a step backwards - here's why
By making the font on the V2 smaller less light is allowed to shine through so the RGB LED's are not as bright as on the V1 -
Secondly - the key caps are a bit different in shape - its hard to explain exactly how buy they are - I've done extensive A/B comparisons and the keycaps on the V1 feel more comfortable over long periods of time -
to someone using a V2 without having used a V1 this may not see apparent but it's there.
Thirdly the key switches were changed from Khail to Greetech - here's the good and the bad.
anyone who has seen my earlier posts about the V2 will see that I praised it and elevated it above the V1 but after 4 months I'm going to backtrack and explain why I find the V1 better to type on and actually prefer the khail key switches over the greetech's.
Overall - the khail's have less key wobble and feel more stable - the V2 has developed really BAD key wobble - I suppose one can get used to it but if you've typed on a well build MX Blue keyboard you will immediately notice the difference - ZERO key wobble on the cherry blues compared to VERY wobbly Greetech ( Razer Greens )
The plus of the greetech switches over the Khail's is that they sound and feel more consistent .
anothe thing I need to mention is I prefer costar stabilizers over the Cherry stabilizers
Finally - the thing I haven't seen anyone else comment on is the following .
if you type on a V1 and V2 side by side you will notice that the V2 almost sounds like its a bit hollow - almost like an empty box with switches mounted onto it . -
If any of you have both a V1 and a V2 please try this out and type side by side and you will immediately notice that typing on the V1 doesn't produce any hollow noise but the V2 does -
I would like to hear from anyone that has opened up a V1 and a V2 to see what the difference in build is -
The weight of the 2 boards is almost the same but there is definitely a difference in build -
NB - as a side note - if the V2 is placed on a rubber mat and isolated from the table surface it seems there's less resonance and hollow sound so it's not all bad -
but I still feel a good Cherry mx blue keyboard will be better overall because of the key wobble issue on the Razer -

Jessop got a reaction from Phantonex in Razer Blackwidow Chroma - V1 vs V2
Just took Delivery of the Corsair K70 RGB Lux - Cherry MX Blues -
Very impressed with the Blue switches compared to the Razer Greens  ( Greetech + Khail )
The most standout Difference is the Sturdiness and quality of the cherry switches - almost ZERO key wobble -             they on another Level completely to all other makes that I've tried
The Razer switches are not bad - neither are the Khails - it's the Key wobble and inconsistency that lets them down
I would even go as far as to say that I like the Greetechs very much.but the Key wobble is a deal-breaker -
Cherry Tolerance levels are really tight and don't let anything sub bar through the manufacturing process -
The only negative I can say about the K70 Lux RGB is the rattling MX stabilisers on the space-bar -
Compared to the costar on the Razer board the space-bar rattles quite a lot - but its not a deal breaker -
to anyone wanting to know the key difference between cherry and Razer / khail - its all got to do with key wobble -
Cherry comes out on top by a HUGE margin - very sturdy feeling key switches.
another thing is it seems the switches will take a few weeks to break in properly as they feel kinda new and tight - but i'm extremely happy with the K70 lux -

I've been using a Corsair K70 Vengence  with reds and K70 RGB Rapidfire  for over 4 years and yes Corsair is great - But I must add that my new Razer Blackwidow V2 is awesome and on a Par with the best out there - the build quality of the V2 is on another level compared to the older V1 and the new Razer Greens amde by greetech are as good as cherry Mx anyday -
My hats off to Razer for upping their game
Razer Blackwidow V2 is on a par with the K95 Platinum - tried the K95 in store for about 15 min and the Blackwidow V2 quality is on a par - just different features and keyswitch types

Jessop got a reaction from Cpu1234 in Razer VS Corsair
I have to tell you - I had a Razer Blackwidow Chroma V1 ( 2014 ) and the key switches were total crap - Massive key wobble , very inconsistent feel , and some of the keys stopped clicking after a few months .
    but that all relates to the  V1 ( 2014 -2016 )
the new 2017 V2 is another story .
True I've only had my Blackwidow Chroma V2 for a few days so it might develop problems but I can already tell the key switches on the V2 model are on a totally other level compared to the originals - or maybe I just got lucky -
I'm a Corsair / Cherry mx user for about 5 years now so I can testify to Cherry MX quality - no doubt cherry MX is tops
But I'm very impressed with the New Razer Greens made by Greetech - the feel of ALL the keyswitches is very consistent across the ENTIRE board - the clicking / sound and feel is  even right across the board - if this last's Razer will have redeemed themselves after the Khail Razer switch fiasco
