  1. Well i have the same headset and i need to use the front panel jack because it's the only audio port amplified for headphones. If i plug them directly into the MB the volume is too low and the RealTek drivers don't let me change it.
  2. The Z333 came out just last month but i can't find any information on them, review-wise. Other than that they're cheaper than the Z523, much prettier, and the subwoofer has exactly the same power delivery. Also, the volume knob that comes with the Z333 is really handy.
  3. OK, so i settled on using my front panel ports while i don't buy an external DAC, but now i've just noiticed that Reaktek HD Manager is switching my Front Panel Mic In with my Headphone Out Front Panel, which means that when i connect my Mic in the Mic In port, the driver just assumes i'm connecting my Headphones, but when i connect my headphone into the Headphone port, a pop-up windows asks me what kind of device am i connecting. The connecto on the mobo is solid and only goes in one way so i know that's not the problem, and no, i haven't switched the mic and headphone cables by mistake.
  4. Correct. The software is from RealTek, i'm not at home at the moment, but i guess it's not the software, when i connect something into any port a window pops up asking me what kind of device did i connect, and i select 'Headphones' so no, i don't think it's the software. And it sounds really strange to me that a motherboard that uses its 'exceptional' "AudioBoost" built-in sound processing as a main advertising point isn't powering the back ports. It doesn't make any sense to me. Hell, even my iPod is capable of powering the headphones, i mean they're 80ohm, any audio 3.5mm output port should have more than enough power for them.
  5. So, i recently bought a pair of the fairly recent HyperX Cloud headset which have an 80ohm impedance. My motherboard is Z97 MSI Gaming 7. My problem is, when i connect the headset to the back panel ports (directly into the motherboard) the volume is way too low and i have everything set to max, but when i switch to my front panel connectors (my case is a Corsair 540) the volume suddenly goes boom and everything sounds as it should. This is very strange. The motherboard even has a dedicated sound card built in, i really don't what's going on and i hate having cables coming out of the front of the case. Here's the back of the mobo: Does anyone know what might be causing this?
  6. Nice build but I would've spent a little less on the PSU and buy a 4670k.
  7. A little sneak peek. Still missing one monitor, keyboard and mouse. Using my brother's Deathadder and an Apple keyboard.
  8. lol, that was it. I'm embarrassed . Thank you vey much!
  9. CPU power connector? I have the CPU Cooler connected to the CPU fan if that's what you are saying.
  10. So i just finished my first build but when i turned it on, i just boots for like two seconds and then it shuts down. When i remove the CPU (i7 4790k) from the CPU socket, the computer turns on fine, so the problem is with the CPU. I already tried both my H100i and the stocj cooler, and it just fails. I have no bent CPU pins i already checked.
  11. What about the U2414H? It has an even thinner bezel than the ASUS and loads of ports. I'll probably try to stretch the budget a bit and get that one.
  12. So, i'm currently building what's going to be my next computer. I'll be going for a dual monitor setup and i've already ordered a dual 24" monitor stand. My main monitor is going to be a BenQ XL2411z for gaming, that's already chosen, but for my second monitor i want an IPS display since i'll be using it for video and photo editing as well as a regular second monitor for extended resolution, for having, for instance, battlelog opened while BF4 is running on the BenQ etc... I've been looking at these two: The ASUS VN248H and the DELL P2414 since they're both IPS, have VESA support and cost about the same at the online shop i'm going to order the monitors from, problem is, i really don't know which is the better option. The ASUS only has HDMI but still, since i'm not going to game on it so i don't see a problem there and the DELL really looks a little bit more sturdy and overall better built than the ASUS, but then again, the ASUS has a much thinner bezel which would be nice knowing the BenQ already has a very thick bezel and the monitors are going to be standing side by side. I would really like to know more about the image quality though. What do you guys think?
  13. Haha, yeah it's a pretty common build nowadays i think, this CPU/GPU combo is pretty much spot on right now and the case is just glorious!
  14. Oh i also forgot to mention, it's not just for gaming, it's going to be a heavy video editing machine, with lots of After Effects, High Def rendering, 3D rendering, 3D tracking, etc... I'll also have my Lightroom and photography al stored in this PC . So that's why i went with the i7 and the 16GB of RAM. edit to reply to other user: I really don't think that the 980 is worth the extra money in comparison to the GTX 970. The performance while better, it's not that much better, and i'll probably be better off buying another 970 in the future for a lower price and destroy a single 980's performance.
