I think the i5 will do just fine.. CPU is seldom the bottleneck for most titles. especially if he is gaming at higher resolution.

Yea I just saw it. Really good bargain.. Hard to trump this one on the price/ performance.

I really like Portal 2.. Completed the both single player and co-op mode. There isn't a lot of replay value though, once you have all the solutions. Besides, I don't think her on-board graphic can run portal 2.

    Hi,

Am looking for good Co-op games suitable for couples. Nothing too graphically intensive, must be something that  a a Intel HD4400 can manage.

Any suggestions? I tried Left 4 dead but it just isn't her type of game.. meaning no FPS/ shooters.

My first build is finally near completion. Waiting for the LG Panel to come in from Korea within the next 4 - 5 days.

Got a hole in my pocket now but it's totally worth it

The decision to build this is strongly influenced by the people in this forum. Big thank you for those who gave me so many good suggestions.

    1. Budget & Location US$3,000   I live in Singapore but I intend to buy all my parts from the US because PC parts like graphic cards are generally very expensive in Singapore. As far as I know, Newegg/global/sg is the only site that ships to Singapore at a decent price, but the options are fewer compared to the main Newegg site.
    2. Aim   My aim is to build a system that can run modern games at 3440x1440p resolution at the highest setting for all the modern games at a good fps. I don't want to just stop at 60 fps.. I want more than 60 fps because I hope the future proof my gaming rig as well. I play all kinds of games, some of which are quite graphic intensive like metro last light, shadow of mordor and watchdogs (just to name a few). Apart from gaming,  I will also be using my rig to watch movies and listen to songs. A sound card would be nice if it can fit into my budget.    3. Monitors
I pretty much decided on the LG 34UM95 ultra wide monitor though, after watching the review video by Linus. I have not bought it though, so that deduct from my budget. I am also considering that standard 1440p monitor though as long as they are IPS because color accuracy is very important to me.

    4. Peripherals   I will be re-using some of the stuff from my current build.  1. Logitech G502 Gaming mouse, 2. Corsair K70 cherry MX brown with red LED 3. Samsung 840 PRO 250GB (Might get one more of this considering that 250GB is not really enough for my gaming needs at the moment) 4. Corsair Vengeance 1400 (regretted not buying 1500 instead) 5. I got a few mechanical hard drive, including a hitachi desktar that I bought a few years ago. I have 3TB of mechanical storage at the moment which is actually quite sufficient.      5. Why are you upgrading?

I am upgrading so that I can give my existing build to my girlfriend because I want her to play games with me. Besides, since I graduated and have a decent job now, I can afford a build that is better.

    Thanks.
