Kiraaaa got a reaction from Skyfire in How are Cherry MX Blues for gaming?
Yup, Blues have the double tap issue because of the fact that they don't reset at the actuation point. They actually reset a bit above the actuation point.. so even if you tap twice really fast and hear the switch "click" twice.. it might not actually register the double tap. This is a huge issue for me especially when gaming. So I wouldn't recommend it.
If you like the Razer look then try their Stealth keyboards, I'm pretty sure they are just a Brown switch version.

I have blues and I regret them a little because they spring slowly and sometimes have their weird "double tap" (I don't even know how to describe it) thing when I play RTS or MOBA. Just really screws up with my skills when I try to cast them quickly or something. Wouldn't recommend Blues for gaming anyhow.

Kiraaaa got a reaction from ShearMe in Mic for Mechanical Keyboard?
??
Every switch has that same "clack" from bottoming out. But Blues (and Greens) have that annoying loud "click" at the actuation point which is what the OP's problem is.
o-rings will not solve that problem

Kiraaaa got a reaction from ShearMe in Thoughts?
He's probably planning on using the USB connection, so the soundcard will be bypassed anyway.
Beyerdynamic makes good headphones.. I'm pretty sure that's just a DT880 with a mic attached to it. The DT880 is a very good set, but if you want you could go with the DT770/990 PROs which are a cheaper alternative and you could end up spending the rest of the money on a decent DAC/sound card if you don't already have one and you could end up with a better audio setup.

Kiraaaa reacted to ShearMe in Gaming Head Phone vs Audiophile HP (Question)
"Gaming" and "Audiophile" are labels slapped on products for marketing. Because sound is sound, a headphone that sounds good playing a movie or music will sound good playing game audio.

Thanks. I'm not saying that they're guaranteed to be trustworthy but it seems like they are. Let's hope all goes well

Brown switches are generally the best switch to start off with. They have a membrane keyboard feel but without the mushiness.

just to be safe you should go for browns. If you go for blues chances are he is annoyed by the clicking, especially if he is not much of a keyboard nerd like most people in the peripherals area.
What key layout does he use? I am not sure how that works in Israel, so make sure you get one with a familiar layout.
As far as brands go, have a look at cmstorm, ducky and filco, and just so he feels comfortable using the kb get a full sized one, a tenkeyless is very impractical for many people.

If you get the 710+ make sure to tell him to remove the o-rings ;)

Browns are a safe bet. People generally have nothing bad to say about browns, so I don't imagine your cousin having any complaints either.
Whereas Blues are not for everyone because of their loud clicky sound and Reds can feel too "mushy" to some or the Black to be too "heavy".

I was actually surprised at how light the actuation is on my blues, coming from membrane

Your company logo reminds me a lot of the Corsair logo, haha. Good luck with your business

Lol if a keyboard breaks from falling off a table, it deserves to be replaced anyway.

I really don't like orings. I tried them all (WASD sampler kit) on my quickfire TK and I just prefer the feel of the "naked" keycaps, because you feel the bottoming out much more thabn with any orings. The slim red ones give some feedback when bottoming out, but not nearly as much as without any.
Conclusion: If you need the absolute quietest mechanical keyboard get orings(try which suit you best first!), otherwise just stay with no orings.

There's been a hoopla over in the other thread about Armaggeddon using China made red switches, an off-the-cuff remake Slick had made, which is true for the MKI-3 but not the one I have. Anyway, I do hope more KB makers, including Ducky and Filco, follow Armaggeddon's lead....their wrist rest is quite comfortable actually.
Oh yeah, I had gotten the Ducky wrist rest simply because I'm anal about looks.....Ducky wrist rest is a 'must-have' for my DS II 78 Version.

Kiraaaa got a reaction from Langdon in Mechanical Keyboard Club!
It's honestly personal preference. Is there a store location where they have keyboards out on display for you to try?
Yesterday was my first time typing on a red switch, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Both have an actuation force of 45g, so they're actually pretty damn similar for someone like me who is used to bottoming out the keys (I barely notice the tactile bump of the browns).
I haven't spent enough time with a red switch to make a real decision, but right now I would go with browns because I know for sure that I like them. I would be happy with reds though too, since it seems like they're easier to attain since they're very commonly used in "gaming" keyboards.
I actually still really like my G15 membrane keyboard the most.. LOL.

Just bought two keyboards today, a brown and blue (even though I always hated blues and knew they weren't for me...)
I will say that if you are planning to game, browns are the way to go. Gaming on blues is just... so wrong.
I know that some people say that they can game on blues... but there is a reason Cherry MX Blues are commonly considered "not for gaming".. I learned this the hardway/first hand after spending $180 today on mech keyboards. (Have fun trying to double-tap on blues.) Well, at least I have a better idea of what I want now, I guess lol.. All this time I stayed away from reds, but turns out I actually don't mind them.. I actually like them and I might actually end up getting a red switch kb.
Anyways, I would recommend the Corsair K70. They're only available in Reds at the moment, but Corsair has announced Brown and Blue switch versions.
So the K70 has dedicated media keys, has red backlights, and will be available in red, blue, and brown switch types.

Kiraaaa reacted to Danimacl in Speakers for Home Theater Setup
Here since people didn't seem to want to answer your question, the pioneer SP-BS41-LR Speaker system about 500$. Then just pick up a used receiver, use the optical audio out from your computer or PS3. Personally though I would go with more expensive 2 channel setup rather than a cheap 5.1 channel system. Look on local audio forum IE Canuck Audiomart for great used stuff... Alot of the time $300 vintage speakers will sound as good as like 700$ new speakers. This might also help. http://www.audioholics.com/buying-guides/system-buying-guides
