Koroka's Achievements

  1. I'd prefer the (poorly named) New Razor Blade 14 since it fits in more with my usual computer use.
  2. After doing some quick measurements of where I was planning to put my computer it will only have about 4" clearance from the rear and top exhausts. Will this be enough? The other option is to turn the tower where you'll be able to see all the cables
  3. Daily deal for those who missed it Black Friday. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=17-438-017 I'm on my phone or I'd make this post fancier.
  4. Yeah, I grabbed the 750 G2 when it was on sale. It's a bit overkill for me unless I pick up another 970 and even then it should be fine.
  5. I'm looking to get some decent in-ears. I'm hoping to spend under (but near) $100 but will pay a more to get in-line mic, detachable cables and a decent portable case for taking with me to work. Comfort is pretty important as I'll be using these about 80% of the time I'm at work, 6-11 hour shifts. I think I have small ear canals but I'm just basing that off the old style ear buds like the apple ones that start hurting about 5 minutes after I put them on. Use environments would be @work (tv/music/calls) with an iphone @home (gaming/music/voice chat/tv) with PC As far as sound profile or whatever I'd prefer more of a flat line with a little bass emphasis as opposed to the V shaped that seems pretty popular. My music taste is just too all over the place to focus on too much. For styling... Dark colored? I work at a mall kiosk and have a lot of down time but don't want people to be afraid to interrupt me. The white ones from a galaxy s5 stand out a bit too much.
  6. One of today's deals on amazon is the new Borderlands game. It will be about $5-10 cheaper at various places on Black Friday but this is Amazon so free shipping (with Prime at least) and also includes PC codes which I have not specifically seen listed on any Black Friday ads. Deal ends at midnight PST if I did my math right.
  7. The KÜHLER, it fits in with the parts I'm putting in my next build.
  8. Oh this would be rather nice, would love to not have to buy the CPU for my new PC! Thanks for doing this even if I don't win!
  9. Thanks for all the input! This is what I figured, it's been a while since I've built a new PC so just wanted to check in before spending a large chunk of my budget. Yeah, I was even originally going to get a 750 ti but then the Nvidia released their new cards and the price to performance for the 970 made it very appealing. While the GTX 970 is way overkill for WoW, even with the new models in 6.02/Warlords, its all I play right now because its all this computer can handle other than Steam ports of some phone/flash games etc. My Skyrim install had almost 100 mods but I was installing low res texture packs and turning down view distance and near the end going well below even 30fps most of the time. A new monitor is in the plans but probably more like early next year since I'll be needing two of them and the ones I've been sort of looking at are a little expensive when you double the price.
  10. The PSU in my long in the tooth gaming PC's died and took just about everything with it...so I've been buying some parts for a new build and am trying to figure out which processor to buy. The build will be a fairly budget gaming rig, part list here. This will be my new every day PC as well as being used for games. The only game I'm currently playing is WoW because the PC I have right now doesn't even meet WoW's new "recommended" specs to let you know where I'm at, lol. I'll be getting back into modding the crap out of Skyrim and probably working my way through some of the more "demanding" games in my Steam/Origin library like Tomb Raider and Batman Arkham 2 & 3 etc now that I can play the off near minimum settings. And I'll probably pick up the new Borderlands soon™. When playing WoW and other games that don't take me a lot of brain power I do tend to watch tv shows, movies, LTT videos I'm catching up on since my limited amounts of free time means I need to stack my entertainment. I even watch a lot of my videos at 1.25-1.5x speed when I can. TL;DR  gaming PC I like to watch HD videos/streams while gaming video encode/stream rarely but might do more in the future two monitors (if it matters) Would the 4790k be worth $80 more to get hyper-threading and higher clock speed or is this level of multitasking child's play for a lightly-moderatly OC'd 4690k?
  11. I love the GTX 900 series and these two cards look nice. At first I thought they were over priced until I realized that they'd already sold out direct from amazon and were being jacked up by resellers. $380 for Omega and $410 for Extreme actually place them fairly well with their performance increase over the STRIX version at $350 (sorry if my prices are off). My pick for appearance goes to the Extreme though I really wish there were more LED options. Green and red make sense considering the under load color change option... but since my rig is (going to be) black with white and blue accents, blue and white LEDs would have me actually turning them on.
