  1. Thanks! The t470 looks like a good suggestion, I didn't realize how cheap they are nowadays.
  2. Hi, I'm looking for a good laptop for inventory management in a workshop. It needs to fit the following criteria: - dust resistant - can run windows 10 fluently - decent wifi - decent trackpad and keyboard - affordable - can be used / older model Battery life is not important as it will be plugged in most (if not all) of the time. Is there anything you guys would recommend? I'm not really sure where to look for something like that.
  3. The B550-A Pro is not available in Germany and B550 Tomahawk is 175€. What about the Gigabyte B550 Gaming X? It's 50€ cheaper (130€)
  4. I chose x570 to have the possiblity to upgrade to a newer CPU down the line - Is B550 upwards compatible aswell? The MSI X570-A PRO AMD X570 So.AM4 Dual Channel is around 150€
  5. Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade my 3570k build with a Ryzen 7 3700x. I need it quite and have a restricted budget. My plan is to use the following parts. Is there something in it I should reconsider? Parts List: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X MB: MSI X570-A PRO AMD X570 So.AM4 Dual Channel RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3600 DIMM CL18 Dual Kit 16GB Not sure whether there is something to look out for in mainboards and ram for this cpu. I've chosen them, because they're inexpensive. I'm going to reuse the rest of my system as GPU is not important to me. Budget (including currency): 550 € Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Development, heavy multi-thread calculations, Docker
  6. I checked out their geekbench scores and the pentium got 2900 Points, while the i3 got 3900.. so that shouldn't be a factor. Surfing the web is actually fine on the asus, but startup time and snappiness (if that's even a word) of the OS is just much worse
  7. Hey guys, yesterday I my neighbor called me to help her with her laptops. One of them is an Asus X751LD with an i3-4030u and 4gigs of ram, the other one an old Lenovo ideapad with a Pentium and 8 gigs of ram. Both are rocking HDDs, win10 and installed/startup programs should be nearly identical (now that I cleared all the bloatware :D). The newer Asus is so much slower than the Lenvo, although it should be the same speed or faster. With faster I mean OS responsiveness and startup time. A fresh install of the OS is not really an option since my neighbor doesn't really know what files she needs. GeekBench-Scores: Asus: 3900, Lenovo: 2900 Does windows 10 need more than 4gigs of ram? Taskmanager showed me 2.5gigs in use and 1.4 free or something like that. Did anyone encounter the same problem or have any ideas? Thanks, megabikerjoe
  8. I've been using a Thinkpad T430 for one year now which I bought for 230€ used on ebay. I am also studying computer science and it's really powerful enough for everything you're gonna do there. I upgraded it to a SSD and 12GB RAM and the biggest battery. I can get through most of the day on a single charge (7-9h) and never had any problems with it. Many fellow students with newer rather cheap laptops struggle with compatibilty issus with different OS's whereas I've never had any issues with it. The only real problem I see with it is it's TN Panel which really isn't great.
  9. I did for a while, wasn't too great of an experience. Using Lightroom 5 with an AC-Router and a synology ds411j
  10. Temperatures are good and CPU-Z also shows this low frequency. Tried changing the frequency with amd Overdrive now aswell, but it stays at ~1,37
  11. Hi, my Dad recently bought a HP Pavilion 550-130ng with a A10-8750. Now I noticed the CPU only clocks to about 1,37 GHZ under any scenario although it should normally go up to 3,6GHZ . I disabled all power saving options in BIOS and Windows 10 and have no clue how to fix the problem. Any suggestions what could help? Thanks in advance, Joe
  12. Nope it didn't The Problem is back but changed a little bit. When the Connection is lost and you go into the settings, the Wifi Adapter is already deactivated..
  13. looks like this fixed it - Thank you!
  14. No it's an Intel Wireless-AC 3165
  15. Hi, a friend of mine recently bought a new laptop (HP Pavilion 15-ab120ng). Everytime after rebooting the wifi works for a few minutes but then stops. It looses connection to the network and only deactivating and reactivating the wifi adapter helps. After that it works flawlessly until the next reboot. Has anyone come across similar problems on his laptop? What could help solve the problem?
