Windows Defender is kind of like the default CPU cooler when you're trying to overclock. Except worse probably. You definitely need an anti-virus. Avast is beyond great. I have a license, but they have a really great free version too. Just be careful which one you download, I think they have different versions for the free antivirus and the trial/premium. Also get Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for malware and all the other garbage. You can also get CCleaner, but that's not really much of an antivirus, more of a... cleaner (obviously). I need to edit a face on to the 500€ bill. I thought I could easily find some sort of generator/template with a Google search, but quite that's not the case. I found some stuff, but nothing like what I was looking for. What would be the best/simplest way to do it? Do I have to use an editing program and do everything from scratch or is there a simpler solution?

I want to get a controller for my PC, but not sure which one I should get. I play GTA V, JC3, Rocket League so a controoler would be lots of fun for these games. I also play BO2, CS:GO... but I don't really intend to play these games seriously on a controller. So that said I want to kind of avoid 3rd party remappers and stuff like that. I want to just plug the controller in and play. This is not my first time researching this topic, so an XBOX controller would probably be better than DS, right? And if so do I get one for the XBOX One or should I get the 360? I would rather have the XBOX One, because the 360 is kinda old and I'm more of a PlayStation over XBOX, but that doesn't really bother me as long as I get a good controller. Which one should I get?

I'm shopping for a business laptop. The budget is $400, screen size from 11 to 14 inch. I have been browsing on Newegg and I'm seeing a bunch of refurbished 3rd generation Intels. But isn't it better to get a newer lower tier CPU than an older higher tier? I mean 3rd generation, that's 4 years old... And since this is a business laptop, the CPU is the most important. I'm out of ideas on how to find the best value for the $300 - $400 price range. Any ideas? Recommendations? Please help me... Also I'm buying for US.

Maybe you have to change the default monitor. Try unplugging all but you primary monitor, then turn on the PC. You might have to do something in settings, but then just shut down your PC and plug in the other monitor(s). Not really sure what you're supposed to be doing, but I had a similar issue and I somehow fixed it. Hope I helped.

I bought Windows 10 Pro and Office 2016 Pro over a local marketplace website for really cheap and I was shipped 2 home burned DVDs, no codes. I updated my rig to Win 10 and everything works fine. I tried installing Office, but during the installation process I got an error that some file was missing. I can't install Office. I'm pretty sure both the Win and Office are somehow pre-activated, because I didn't get or need any codes. Is there a way I could get the Office product coed and install with like a downloaded installer or something? Is there anything I can do? (besides contacting the seller) Thanks for helping.

Definitely some nice ideas. Looks like I forgot to mention the NAS in my thread, but it would be really interesting to see one, especially because there probably aren't many useful ones on the use market. Would most likely have to buy new drives in that case. -

With the commentary in between the show and everything else this almost looks like a TV show or something... Perhaps it could become one some day. It definitely has a lot going for it. I absolutely love what you did this season and I can't wait for the next one. For me, the Scrapyard Wars alone was probably worth the yearly Vessel subscription. Beside that I also got some ideas for the next seasons (not all are good, but some are worth thinking through): most "futureproof" PC Nvidia vs AMD (one team only uses Nvidia graphics and the other one AMD; there are more variants of this, for example Intel&Nvidia vs all AMD, Intel vs AMD CPUs... tho I kinda feel like that would give one team an advantage) only allowed Intel/AMD CPUs or only Nvidia/AMD graphics (similar to the previous one) most compact/portable build best Editing build (IMO the best one here) Let me know what you think about these. Also @LinusTech @Slick when approximately is the next season coming?- 202 replies

I need a new LCD panel for a S24D390. It's a PLS monitor, 24 inch, 1080p and the screen is broken (something hit the panel, now there are black, red, green and blue lights in a wide horizontal area where it got hit and a few vertically). I tried googling it and came up with nothing useful, also nothing on eBay. Where else could I try? Is this model just simply to new to have replacement parts? Thanks for helping.

I have this really awesome Blender intro template, but it's in ugly green. Is there a way to change this? My experience with Blender is about none. I know how to change the text, but that's about it. I am however quite skilled with Vegas, if that helps. Video: Thanks for helping

Really nice headphones IMO, but they kinda fall out of the price pool. Tho I gotta say I like them a lot especially because there's a dbrand skin for them. And drband is the best. EVER.

Hi! My friend is looking to buy new headphones. He is looking for something wired, from a nice company (good quality) and preferably with a microphone (could also do without, if it's a really good deal or something). They are meant for gaming and casual computer use, but also for some DJ-ing (not a main factor, he only goes once in a few months). All this under 50€ including shipping to Slovenia OR something for an equivalent price in $ (including shipping) in the US - to be brought to our country by friends or family. Any idea where I could find something like this or perhaps any suggestions? The local retailers have very little good, quality products and even those they have are expensive. Thanks for helping ;D

I am helping someone with a project. They need an open book that is not sideways to put their own text in it. It also has to be copyright free (to be used in a website). I was wondering I could quickly find something like this or maybe if there a way to get a 3D book model to then insert text and render a genuine-looking image. Thanks for helping.

I have a solid side panel, but since I very recently bought a new mousepad (ozone, 450mm x 900mm), I kind of do the same with my desk. I put everything away so now there are only the keyboard, mouse and a giant red and black piece of rubber/foam.
