  1. In case anyone cares. Ultra preset with motion blur off.
  2. Alright I'll get it then. Looks like the 650W PSU won't be an issue either. Thanks for the help!
  3. I thought even a 3070 might be overkill. As in, the 3300x might be a substantial bottleneck. Is that the case or should a go for a 3070 Ti?
  4. Hey. I finally have the means to get a GPU. Time to retire my 7 yr. old second hand R9 280x! Looking for some advice on selecting my next GPU. My current specs are: R3 3300x Gigabyte B550M DS3H 16GB RAM @ 3200 Antec 650W PSU I want to play Shadow of the Tomb Raider and the Horizon Zero Dawn series at max settings at 1080p (no RTX). Would like to get ~165 FPS since that's my main monitor's refresh rate. I have two other 1080p 60Hz monitors with HDMI and VGA inputs. The main one has 2x HDMI and DP. I'll need a solution to connect all three of them. My upgrade path with this system would be to get a Ryzen 7 5800X3D and more RAM with a beefier PSU, but that's a bit down the line. I'm looking at the 3060Ti, 3070, 6700 or the 6700XT. Given my current specs, does it even make sense to look at the 3070? Note that I'm looking at these two retailers, the prices on amazon.in seem whack: http://www.costtocost.in/list/pricelist.pdf https://mdcomputers.in/ I don't (or rather can't) want to wait for the Ryzen 7000 series or the 4060 to reach me as my poor old GPU is giving up the ghost as we speak. I also don't want a second hand GPU. Thanks in advance!
  5. https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B550I-AORUS-PRO-AX-rev-10#kf Found this on LTT forums. Only two RAM slots tho.
  6. Thank you for the SSD recommendations. Any idea on what motherboard should I pair with the 5600G that has 3 display outs?
  7. Thanks for sharing the price tracker. Also, could you suggest an SSD as an example? You've been of great help!
  8. Ah! Almost forgot about the X3D line! Great! I have some viable options now. Just waiting on some comments on this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mjNBbK I think this can work.
  9. Really appreciate your reply. Here, please comment on this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mjNBbK Also let me know if there are latency advantages to be had by getting Optane + a HDD or is a regular Gen 3 SSD sufficient. I do a significant amount of tiny reads from the disk.
  10. Should I then use my sister's Q6600? /s Jokes aside, I develop multi-threaded backends in nodeJS. I have worked on a 6100, then on a 3300x. The improvement was noticeable. Just want to get something modern with an upgrade path in case I want to bring it back home for some gaming.
  11. 5600G, 16GB DDR4 3200, 500W PSU, B550 Motherboard. How does this work? Also, what is my upgrade path here? 5900x + a dGPU?
  12. Budget (including currency): 50k INR at most. Country: India (INR) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Web Development, Adobe Illustrator, Figma, NodeJS Server Development. (Win 11) Desired Display Output: 2x 1080p (secondary monitors) + 1x high refresh rate 1440p / 4k (primary monitor) I have all the peripherals minus a primary monitor. This is not included in the budget. Hi, super excited to build a web-development PC for office. Please advice the best bang-for-buck while keeping future-proofing in mind. Here's what I have been thinking: Opt. 1: 12100k with no dGPU Opt. 2: 3300x + GT1030 Opt. 3: 12100F + GT1030 Opt. 4: Ryzen 4650G > Please ignore these options if they don't make sense. Idk how will I connect 3 monitors without a dGPU. 16 GB RAM will be sufficient for now. DDR4 or DDR5? (I am not a monster, I open at most 5 tabs of chrome at a time) Suggestion for a motherboard & PSU? Case suggestions? For storage: Going with intel gives me the option to use Optane. I don't need much storage. I'll prefer speed over capacity. 2.5G LAN will be a nice to have. Not necessary at all. Will my workload benefit from more cores? Any full-stack developers? Thank you.
  13. Seems reasonable. I'll get some 'MAC 97A6 M922's I guess and give it a shot. Thanks a lot!
  14. Given that it came from China where cost cutting is the name of the game, and my Dad said the same thing; I should have thought of that on my own. Anyway, would you recommend replacing this burnt component, or the entire PCB?
  15. Hi all. A beginner here. I'm trying to fix this lava lamp and I noticed this three-legged component kinda molten-ish inside the on-off knob. There is a brown tint underneath the PCB too. I have two questions: (1) Is this thing bad? aka. will replacing it do the job? (2) Do I even need this PCB? Can I directly plug it into the mains AC? This knob seems to only turn the lamp off or on. I don't see the lamp getting dimmer by turning the knob. Better to ask before committing arson on my own house. The bulb is fine. Its an E14 R39 rated for 30W.
  16. Yeah this looks good. 2666 Mhz is as fast as your CPU supports. This should net you a couple more FPS. You can look into overclocking your CPU next, but watch out for the temps.
  17. Can you share a screenshot of your PCs CPU-Z results? You can get CPU-Z from: https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html Mine looks like this. You can see that the DRAM frequency is about 1600 Mhz. This means that my RAM is running at 3200 Mhz. Also note the CAS# Latency - Mine is 16.0. If we can speedup your RAM you might be on your way to popping heads with more FPS.
  18. 200 FPS isn't the stopping point for the Valorant engine. I get about 320 FPS with a very old GPU (R9 280x 3GB). PS. Valorant loves fast and tight RAM.
  19. So I didn't want to undo the cable management, so I have put insulating washers between all motherboard screw points and the standoffs. I also removed the IO shield. Currently writing this message using my PC. Has not crashed yet. If it does not, then I'm calling it a success.
  20. I can try different RAM although I doubt that's the issue since my RAM is new. I don't think its the drives because a drive failure (non-OS) would at most cause a BSOD. I'm getting a complete shutdown. To answer your question, the behavior is that the power LED remains on, no blinking. Thanks for the well-wishes!
  21. Will try that. Gonna be a hassle, just did cable management last night!
  22. Hello Readers. Since yesterday, my PC has been turning off on its own. Not in any specific application. It turns off even when inside BIOS. No bluescreen, just turns off. Steps I've taken: 1) Deep-cleaned the entire PC. Removed all dust from fans, case, slots, and cables. 2) Fresh thermal compound on both CPU and GPU. 3) Reseated the CPU. 3) Tided up the cables. 4) Tried with one stick of RAM. 5) Removed the Wi-Fi card and tried. 6) Tried a different GPU. (Used a GT 1030) 7) Downclocked the RAM to 2133. 8) Completely took out the motherboard and put it back in. 9) Tried with side-panels off. 10) Reset the BIOS 11) Plugged directly into wall power. I normally use a UPS. Important Info: 1) Windows Reliability Monitor has no useful info. 2) When the PC turns off, the Power LED on the case stays lit. Pressing the power button does nothing, but holding it down turns it on again. 3) It's not like it turns off after a certain time period - sometimes I'm able to game / work for about 40 mins, other times it turns off within seconds of turning on. 4) With the current config and overclocks, the PC has been running rock-solid for a long while now. 5) Recently did a fresh win-10 install. 6) PC Specs: Ryzen 3 3300x (Ryzen Master's auto overclock) (Stock cooler) 2 x 8 Corsair LPX rated for 3000mhz, running at 3200mhz synced with the fabric clock. Gigabyte B550M Sapphire Radeon R9 280x 3GB - No OC. Antec 750W PSU Boot drive - WD Green 120 M.2 4 other SATA drives. 3 x HDD, 1 x SSD. My haunches: 1) PSU Issue? 2) CMOS battery? 3) Short-circuit somewhere, underneath the motherboard or on the IO shield? Help pls.
  23. Hey all, I'll keep this short and straight to the point. My PC turns off when there is a fluctuation in the wall-power. Not only is this annoying, but I'm afraid this can cause corruption to my OS and hard drives. My current setup is as follows: Wall power (230V 50Hz) -> UPS -> PC (750W Antec PSU) Link to my UPS: https://www.intex.in/product_details/ups-protector-725 I'm thinking I need a better UPS, or perhaps a stabilizer. Or a surge protector? I don't know what that is tho. Please advice. Thanks!
  24. Thanks dude! I have decided to go for the 3300x with an amazon renewed ASRock B450 Pro4 which I found for 8,499. I will make a no compromises PC in the future when I have the money for it. For now, a 3300x is a huge upgrade from my 6100.
  25. Will the B450 Tomahawk MAX be compatible with the 3300x? Also just for future planning, what GPU would you pair with this config? Something like a 1660Ti?
