Yes. Newer card supported by newer tech but I believe the 290 is also compatible with DX12.

It's probably running firefox OS, which I've got on my new TV (also a panasonic 4K TV) and it's actually rahter nice and smooth, easy to understand, although it doesn't have many apps compared to android TV, which you'll need to look to sony for at the minute really.

I never plan to SLI more than two cards. I currently have 780 SLI, so I would definitely not get 980 SLI. Yes, they're faster, but you're at a dead end because you already have two and scaling beyond two is simply not worth it. 
 
You can SLI a Titan X down the road and pull WAY ahead of 980 SLI.

Find another hobby. Go do something else. Learn a new skill, language or something. Too much of something always dulls the experience. You can't depend on something too much to always give you that release, that hit, that high.
I play guitar, video games and MMA. Even those activities get stale and I find myself looking for something new to do. So I tried mountain climbing,drone flying and some dancing even to entertain myself.
Some time away from my gaming actually made me want to play games again with a refreshing view. I'd have the curiosity to play and complete the games I've never touched on my Steam Library. It's what getting older does to you. You can't hope to be experiencing the same things throughout. We're all jaded enough.

I personally dislike first person games but I have no problems playing them.
I like to see the animations and movements of the character I'm playing.
But that's just me and I've always found first person a very awkward and odd view.

The only rebrand would be the 290 and 290X, wich are excelent cards that are actually 4k ready in multi gpu scenario (better then the 970 in many cases), and the 285 ... so one year old cards being rebranded, more precisely 3 cards.
To release cards just with the purpous of releasing new cards with subpar performance (in comparison with the competition and previous gen), like the 960, I think it's better to release better perfoming cards even if they have worst TDP.
If they price the 380 and 380X right, they will be competing with the 960(ti) and 970 respectively, (much like last year). The 390 and 390X will be in competition with the 980 and 980ti/Titan.

Just because you've got bigger guns doesn't make you a better nation or ppl. It makes you more of a bully.
You can't solve problems by forcing good old American "freedom" all the time.

Ubisoft at this point should just shut up. Properly optimise and perfect their games and release them without too much PR and marketing. People already have them under microscope criticising their every move. They don't need anymore attention.
They just need to focus on making better games and removing the crappy Uplay.
The games will speak for themselves if they are done right.

But the consoles also have very good exclusive games and sometimes being able to play with your friends who own consoles is awesome.
PC gaming and all its advantages are clearly being advocated here but it doesn't mean console gaming is complete shit.
