Clone IP address' on two devices on my network. So I made sure my ipv4 was set to automatic and reset my computer to get a new ip.

I would put the one with the better cooler on top as the top card is going to be hotter since the second card is basically sitting on the fan. So yes those temps are normal, but they can be adjusted by switching the cards as i suggested.

yep, but found out it wasnt entirely stable so i backed off to 4.9. but it may have just been that i was starting to hit the ceiling of my psu so i may try again later tonight. and disregard that benchmark too, hoped up dual psu's and got a higher score

The 970 would be your best choice. It does use less power and isnt as loud or as hot. Depending what your monitors refresh rate is, be it 60Hz or 120Hz or 144Hz, will affect your in game setting. Because of course if you want to use a 144Hz monitor the settings will probably be around medium/ high. But if you have a 60Hz monitor you should be able to play almost all games at pretty high settings and still maintain 60fps. As for manufacturer, it depends on which 970 you would want. If you got a basic reference type it doesnt matter, it only matters if you would want a 970 that comes oc or not. Either way I would personally go with EVGA.

-Yes I know, before someone else mentions it, I have PNY gpu's. I did this cause I bought the reference cards and EVGA was sold out.

Yeah I know, at the time of my build I didn't want to spend a whole lot on my cpu. But I do plan to get an i7 early next year.

Ha yeah, if you don't oc then what are you doing. I cant wait to get my second card tomorrow and I will definitely be submitting my SLI score to the Unigine thread once im finished fine tuning in my gpu's oc. Hopefully my second card can handle the 215/600 so itll make oc'ing easy tomorrow.

Oshtro got a reaction from LogicalDrm in first 5min OC temp
Im just saying that temps during a stress test are kinda pointless, its more of monitoring so you dont melt anything. And i meant in my earlier post for 24/7 use i personally dont wanna see 70c or higher on my pc, which also happens to be intels listed temp that you shouldnt go over for 24/7 use. So i usually aim for a 24/7 max temp of about 60c, which is why im at 4.5 GHz and not the 4.7GHz i know i can do.

With the max temps shown for the topic being stress testing temps, he will probably only hit about 50c maybe even lower. If those were real world application max temps I would back off a bit.

Regardless of our little banter though, he is perfectly safe to continue pushing the cpu further.
