  1. Tried to reset the CMOS? I've had this issue at one point. Could be as simple as that?
  2. Probably not. The PCB of the RAM stick is made partly of glassfiber, it's likely just scraping due to size tolerances and will be "made to fit" ! If it works, don't touch it?
  3. Try contacting MSI support? Maybe they could help ? Maybe your AMD software (where you can also control the fan) is overwritting your MSI Afterburner setup?
  4. Did you check the bios version? Could it be that it has some custom mining bios on it or something? Where'd you get the card?
  5. Would it be an interesting video to do a cooler comparison of f.x. a given GPU at the same RPM and see if the card weight determines the cooling performance (more weight more alu?) I just noticed myself filtering a gpu by card weight on pricerunner and got the idea.
  6. Hi guys, So privacy is a big thing for some people in my family, so due to this regular cloud storage is not possible. If it was necessary to have our own storage solution at home, which we can all access from different locations using login info and IP address or simiar, what kind of solutions/software etc. would you recommend?? Currently I'm just thinking a regular PC with 2x2TB harddrives in it in Raid (mirror), then ethernet connection with (sleep reaction/enable) on, so that it can be asleep unless it's accessed. This pc sitting in a basement somewhere Any ideas? Preferably this PC will also have folders with passwords, so each part of the family also can have their own private photos (from parties or other events which the rest of the family isn't part of), which the other people without the password can't see. (optional, as we can just store the private photos on external harddrives.)
  7. Not bad at all lol. I'm currently running windows 11 on a cheap ass mobo which definitely doesn't have tpm and running 7600k. Just get rufus and install the latest original windows 11 iso from microsofts own website. Only problem I've run into is CSGO external ladder anticheat apps etc. don't remember what it's called ,very popular here in DK. But that thing required secureboot and TPM 2.0 or something and wouldn't run. Anything else works just fine, and I'm also getting updates through windows update.
  8. Another easy solution is just to connect a USB cable to your phone and then to the PC. USB internet sharing is known and very easy today - at least on samsung phones. Then windows update could find the drivers for you pretty quickly I bet.
  9. Hmm, use case of course makes sense to a point. You wouldn't build a supercomputer to run minecraft RimWorld or other not-so-demanding games. A possible problem I see with this is your use case can easily change over time. Let's say you wanna run RDR2 at 60fps 1080p, you build from that -> good. Then suddenly you wanna play some other more demanding title that just came out, or that you just got interest for, now your PC might be struggling. So I think the pricepoint building comes from a basis of, where hardware is today, compared to how things are evolving. High end expensive hardware will keep up for longer, mid-end will start struggling earlier, so these were as far as I can tell, divided into price brackets of typical price/performance over the years. So to a certain point, they do indeed make a ton of sense for the average consumer. But if you're a special consumer that for example doesn't typically play games, but you just saw the civilization game and cause of nostalgia or whatnot just feel like playing THAT specific game and version, (f.x. Civ 6), there's of course no reason to buy the latest and greatest, you could just buy a setup for that particular game and call it a day, while saving a TON of money? - But these people I think are very few. Keeping "the options open" is probably something most of us want.
  10. Okay so I ran the test. From pressing PLAY on steam to main menu. Active mods: 332 SSD time: 7:11min HDD time: 9:48min SSD was 26.7% faster than the HDD in loading up the game. So pretty big difference in terms of percentage but was hoping the SSD would be like half the time or something similar. So, I'm gonna keep it on the HDD as doing something else for 2-3 minutes isn't a problem for me. Tested SSD: 120GB 2.5" Intenso SATA III SSD Tested HDD: 250GB 2.5" 5400RPM laptop drive, Hitachi HTS542525K9SA00
  11. Can recommend, if you like colony building or similar games, it's got quite a lot of potential regarding mods. Base game itself is also quite fun cause it's challenging. Personally I really like it and the fact that it's not limited Human skin chairs, kidnap raiders and take their kidneys for repurposing into your own colonies or sales haha! It's insane if you think about it.
  12. Hi! So to clarify. I have a 120gb SSD which i put big games or competetive games like CSGO on, which is pretty much full. RimWorld is currently also installed on that SSD but I was wondering if it even makes a difference, or if I could just free up a few GB for the SSD by moving it over to a conventional harddisk drive So I'd have to time it on the SSD, move it over to HDD, restart pc (clear any memory), time it on HDD, figure out if it made a difference or not. So to save me the hassle I thought i'd just ask if anybody already had it tested. regarding 200-300 mods, yeah it's quite a lot, but often its small mods like weapon addons, vanilla expanded, genetics, animal mods, food/cooking mods, some simple UI mods and some quality of life mods, scripts etc. So unless I have like 40-100 colonists, I haven't experienced a huge problem. Regarding cpu limit, tried RimThreaded, helped quite a bit, but it's just waaaay too buggy, often conflicts with some of my other mods, so I just replaced it with Rocketman which also helps a bit, no conflict problems so far.
  13. I already have it on SSD, but it still takes longer than 5 minutes to load. So was wonder if anyone's got experience with it, before I move it over and test it.
  14. Like load times etc. Feels like it's still loading a loooong time with 2-300 mods using SSD Like 5 mins or more
  15. What would refurbished mean technically in this case? They're still used and worn right?
  16. Which alternatives are there (cheaper/better)? Anything you could recommend for a NAS that has 8x20tb capacity? They cost 3000dkk ~ 416USD incl. tax here.
  17. At the end of last Friday's episode a message came in about a hypersafe lithium ion batter phone for dangerous environments, like mining. Phone company should supposedly be based in Europe. Anyone know the name of this phone companyor better yet, the supplier of the hyper safe li ion batteries?
  18. So for example if a company uses 2 step verification for example to allow you to login on teams etc. But requires you to verify using your own private mobile phone number to receive an sms verification code, how unsafe/unprofessional is it and why ? Please be realistic and not too hypothetical.
  19. Hi guys, So If I'm connected to the company WiFi, but have activated the VPN PIA, can the company see that I'm streaming netflix, or can they only see data going out to the VPN?
  20. If you have an integrated you, try removing your dedicated gpu and try shutting down. Could be a faulty power supply or motherboard that triggers some voltage and "reactivates" the system when you try to shut down. Maybe it doesn't happen in safe mode because all non essentials are turned off. Even video drivers so gpu isn't pulling any real power peaks ? Grasping at straws.
  21. Since it works in safe mode, it sounds like it's corrupt/buggy drivers. How To Fix When Windows Restarts After Shutdown (technewstoday.com) Maybe you could try deleting the Wifi card drivers, restart / shut down and see if it works? Then troubleshoot each driver like that. Doubt it's video drivers, likely to be accessories or network card maybe? Unplug any devices if there are extra USB devices connected, check if that helps anything. It's a really annoying problem it sounds like, which likely is to be tedious to solve / pinpoint.
