  1. Suuuure your legit... (WINK) lol. Yeah I remember our lord Linus mentioning something about their decision to ditch the beige. Good luck with the build again mate!
  2. That's nice to hear. I have heard that dealing smack is good for your wallet! However I did also agree with one of the other intrepid respondents to this thread that the Lamborghini esque processor you have chosen might actually result in a loss of frames over some of Intel's cheaper i7's. The difference will be small though. I prefer air cooling too btw... More stylish. I'm too lazy to look back at page one but be warned that noc's fans look like poo... albeit, quickly revolving poo.
  3. WOW!! How much do you not want your money? lol I'm definitely no the most experienced techie on this form but I would bet my left ball on there being a more practical/suitable configuration of components to get better performance, if you are dead set on spending that much. However I would also say that its a nice build and when you have cash to set on fire... there are worse ways to so it. Also, when you start with this budget your getting more FPS than really matters in all games worth playing so nitpicking like myself and the rest of this thread is just semantics and personal preference. Good luck with your new PC.
  4. I sincerely apologise for my "nitpicking" c3p0... I forgot that the internet is a place for all of gods creatures too display their creations free from wanton criticism by louts like myself. I genuinely didn't see the section of the forum that you had posted in until moments ago. It is a lovely build log, worthy of the highest praise. Please accept my most humble apology.
  5. I have a bag of frozen peas keeping mine cool for the interim. My new build will have 7 not including the GPU fans (3). 4 x 140mm case fans. 1 x 120mm case fan 2 x 140 PWM CPU cooler fans.

I too am mildly interested in this. From the reviews I've seen however there is a theme of being disappointed in the screen real estate. Furthermore I was under the impression that it was a glare reduction surface not gloss but I could be wrong.
  7. Oooooo... who shat in your cereal? If you don't want comments then don't post your build. I'm much too polite to call you a dumb ass... It's a very pretty build. Good luck with it.
  8. Your avatar is disturbing but I agree with your question. Unless your getting a really good deal on that MOBO I would wonder why as well?
  9. I think you may have missed my point... Time will tell and Intel does not yet have nearly enough of a lead on AMD to relax just yet. However consumers are the biggest losers when they goosestep behind one big manufacturer. For example all of the new releases from apple were designed years ago before S Jobs died. I would bet that Nvidia has been sitting on the 900 series for quite a while too. Perfectly timed releases to maximize profits and minimize consumer awareness. ... Bloody hell, I'm really jaded huh! This crazy world...
  10. I wanna change my answer to this^ Better market competition! I don't want to see Intel become another "Microsoft" (emphasis on soft) style behemoth. They have been riding their unopposed laurels too long to make decent products anymore. You know when a company has gone soft when their product releases are exactly the same (or even slightly nerfed) with a ".1" after the name... lol.
  11. Then I would say Intel. If it mainly gaming and you want all the frames and fluidity you can get then Intel almost always comes out in front. The i5-4690k is the current cherry pick for gamers as it is the top tier before you begin to get a diminishing rate of gaming performance increase, relative to the price. Go with the 4690k. Good luck with your upgrade/build mate!
  12. I agree. For the price of a 4690k you can easily get the FX 8350 which is a great CPU for multithreaded applications associated with editing/rendering etc. Intel still gets the biggest slice of the gaming cake for almost every price bracket. AMD is still great for gaming but you will lose a few frames in certain games compared to Intel. Remember AMD is also spec'ed to run hotter and use more power relative to the 4690k.
  13. This but I would extend it to all games prioritize money, or rather their publishers do. Just do what I do when a script kiddy shows up and go for a surf or something till they get banned and have finished rage crying on TS.

That's the reason I changed my mind about the 25UM65. The 29 inch version looks to be a good compromise. Its the smallest I would go if I were still considering this path.
  15. GPU temps seems reasonable. No throttling there.
