DarkDragon2 reacted to jakkuh_t in BOINC Pentathlon 2019 Contest
Hey everyone!
I'm here to talk to y'all about BOINC. I'm sure many of you heard about or participated in our contest last year for Folding, which is another awesome way to help push forward medical science. This time around, it's using a platform called BOINC, which supports many different scientific ventures!
With your gaming PC, laptop, server, or really any computer, you can donate processing power from your CPU or GPU when you're not using them to help run calculations on a vast number of distributed computation projects. This massive shared computational power can help researchers learn more about these diseases in an effort to better treat them, or how numbers really work, and it can make a HUGE difference in the fight to conquer them.
Using BOINC, a simple software you can run on your PC, you can automagically use your processing power when idling (or full time if you desire) for the previously mentioned calculations.
In exchange for your valiant processing effort, we're going to give away a PC game (up to $100 per), to 3 lucky BOINCers, in support of the cause.
CONTEST ENTRY FORM: https://forms.gle/DEnxDgWB4k2xkhw88
Check out the official Pentathlon 2019 thread for more information, and the quick start guide below for how to easily participate.
Contest entries will be handled by a Google form, and will be based on your BOINC activity in the World Community Grid project (specifically OpenZIKA).
I will post the contest form Monday, May 13, 2019 at noon PST.

DarkDragon2 reacted to cTurtle98 in uncut LMG roast vod

linus said that the uncut lmg roast will only be available live on floatplane
currently wan show is available live on floatplane but the VOD is only on youtube and not floatplane
will the uncut VOD for the roast be available on floatplane or will it be gone forever after its streamed and only the edited VOD available on youtube?

DarkDragon2 reacted to Mira Yurizaki in Which is quieter? Air cooling or water cooling
Ultimately it depends on how much air needs to move through the system and how much of that air current is allowed to escape unaffected to you. Water coolers are quieter by virtue of not needing as much air flow. But air cooled systems can be made really quiet if you have a large enough heat sink. And with some sound dampening and other things in the mix, you can have a virtually "silent" computer (as in, it doesn't generate appreciably higher noise than the room's noise floor)
Even then, noise can be affected by where the computer is. I had a computer under my desk and I could barely hear it even when it was working until I poked my head under my desk.

DarkDragon2 reacted to Senzelian in Mouse often double clicks when pressing the mouse button once.
Yes, they must be bad on all three mice.
The DeathAdder is from 2014, the Mionix from 2016 and the Logitech from 2017
I am sure, that a new mouse would have the exact same problem.

DarkDragon2 reacted to MeDownYou in Single Color Wan show logo? (Photos updated!)
Curious IF you were to have a wan show logo in only one color what would it be?
Additionally, where would you put a wan logo if you had one?
Here is a Black one (I have orange coming this week it has arrived., which seems to be the general consensus.)
Decal of the wan logo is here in ORANGE!

DarkDragon2 reacted to Lightning in Skyrim paid mods are gone

It's a win, but the battle isn't over it.
We now know that they may have to power to potentially DRM mods. We will also never know when this will come back. The damage is done.
I wonder what would happen if they monetize gta v mods.

DarkDragon2 reacted to ahhming in Bored pilot draws penis on FlightRadar with private plane
The scene took place over Florida airspace. Though the mystery pilot has not confirmed that they intended to draw the male member in the sky, it seems like an odd flight path to be coincidental.

DarkDragon2 reacted to STRMfrmXMN in psu for this system
The difference between the 80 PLUS gold/platinum is the efficiency. It's more just marketing gimmickry to make you buy it, but I'll let this video decide for you.
Watch all of it too because I think people really don't understand how different power supplies are different.
