  1. Well what is a pokemon adventure without Team Rocket...
  2. Yea, an upgrade for the cpu/mobo is on the cards for early 2015, and il probably be going for the 3258. As for the SLI suggestion, thats a no go, as the board has only the one PCI lane as it, at the time, was a budget board. To the guys suggesting the AMD cards, I was avoiding them on the ground of the higher heat output that seems to come with em, the enclosure is micro atx so managing thermals is a concern. If you don't think this will be a problem then please feel free to say so Thanks for all the replies
  3. The price isn't much of a concern atm, so much as knowing where the choke point is going to be with a newer gpu paired with an older low end cpu.
  4. Hi guys, have an old system with an i3 540 (4ghz oc) with a gtx 460 which is starting to choke. Was wondering what gpu model i could switch up to before this rather aged cpu starts to hold it back? The mob only has a pci-e 2.0x16 slot which I'm aware isn't a problem as it's the same as a 3.0x8. My Feeling is maybe a 760 is going to be the limit, but debating wether to scale it back to a 750ti. Thanks guys.
  5. I would think she would only need 2 or 3 buttons on the side. the thing she doesn't like about the Naga is it's height, which is around 44mm high from what i've seen. For anyone whose used it, it has a pretty pronounced curvature, which is no problem for my big hands, but she finds it a little uncomfortable from what she tells me. Will Follow from now, my bad! Thanks for the replies so far, will check out the suggestions.
  6. So my significant other has asked for a gaming mouse for her birthday so I am looking for some advice. From what i can tell she's a palm gripper like me and has used my Razer Naga quite a bit. She says of the Naga, that she likes the buttons on the side cause she likes that she can use them to make her wow character jump (rite? >.>) but she says theres too many buttons on the naga. She also says while she likes the length of the naga she finds the height of it a little uncomfortable. So, any lady gamers here (or dudes, no sexism in gaming here) who might be able to recommend a suitable mouse at around the £50 mark? Cheers .
  7. Not entirely sure how i feel about this one tbh.. DLC for COD isn't exactly news is it...but locking an entire mode (a very popular mode) of play behind a paywall seems like strong-arming people who normally wouldn't buy the DLC content into buying it. Thats just not cool...Seems like games that become hugely popular lead developers to believe that they can just get away with whatever they want. So whats next? pay £40 to buy half the campaign, then £40 more to get the rest of it?
  8. Can't say i've ever been in a lobby on any COD game where theres been strong trolling against women...lots of trolling and asshat behaviour for sure, but not specifically directed against women...
  9. So if this turns out to be true, will Nvidia and AMD wade in to this?
  10. Is it really necessary to punish pc users like this who spend 2x 3x 4x the price of a console on a gaming rig? Really? I don't know why console makers are acting like the margins in graphical quality are so important. Consoles will always have the advantage of being cheaper, and less hassle. Consoles are straight out of the box, fit for purpose, no hassle. PC's may well be more capable of producing better gameplay experiences, but we, especially self builders, are faced with the potential for things to go wrong, and when they do, we have to figure out how to fix those problems. I find it hard to believe the pc will kill off consoles any time soon because pc gaming still has this air of uncertainty and mystery for people who aren't that tech savvie. Console makers, back away from our stuff, or your going to make me upset
  11. You can use crystal disk info to check out the status of your ssd if you're worried about it.
  12. When i made the post originally, i was running memtest already, i stopped it after 9 passes (roughly 8 hours) and there were no errors there. I tried running driver verifier which caused a blue screen with IOmap64.sys to blame for it, which is as far as i can tell part of asus ai suite 3 so didn't know if removing this from my system was a good idea or not as I'm already running the latest version, so i can't update it.
  13. @TheGamingBarrel CDi says my ssd is good 100% hdd is also good...
  14. Ok So I had another BSOD today although this one was a different errors, this time i had a process or thread crucial to system operation has ended. As before, i'm finding no errors with Disks or memory so I'm not convinced this is a hardware fault. I ran driver verifier and within a matter of seconds i had a blue screen which blamed IOmap64.sys. From what I have found, this is part of the Asus AI suite 3, and after checking the asus website, I am already running the latest version of this software. So, whats my next step guys?
  15. Gotta say I was disappoint. Not so much the game itself...it's about as much as you'd expect from a smash game, i just don't find it lends itself too well to the 3DS. The screen is too small (don't know if this is any better on a 3dsxl) and if you get the slightest bit of sweat on your hands it's like trying to play smash on an ice cube, it just feels awkward and clunky. The online side has gotten -alot- better than it was with brawl, but it still suffers from a little lag for me.
