https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/965477-community-standards/ Also, ""Don't be a dick" - Wil Wheaton.". Im just saying, and just because me and everyone else did it once, doesnt mean anyone who comes in here should, so unless youve already read the rules, ill just point out the ones your neglecting right now. -
You better restraint that wild eel of yours, you wont be wanting to swing it in the middle of a crowd of people wearing 5000€ suits....

Has gaming decreased your pleasure of watching movies in cinemas?

You mean Popcorn time? Uh, you heard nothing! -
I must disagree. Im not gonna try to make this a counter argument, as much as it is an overview of what we experience and live upon today, based on how i live my life. The technology involved in the creation of watches, is in its essence, linked to how our computers operate today, which allowed for finers tools and learning experiences for artisans and designers, but at the same time comes to show that the level of precision and reliability, matches or exceeds, even the most well built computer components, because in the end a watch is a computer of time, and as long as time exists, theyll always exist, wether some people see them as unecessary or simply an eye catching piece.

Yeah Dash, i was looking forward to, if to aquire a high end mechanical watch that is, to try and keep the price at most in the 4 digit numbers, and on the lower side of those. I suppose i wouldnt mind a really good digital watch, as long as the batteries could last for a 1 year or 2 and they retailers are able to supply with replacements, without too much hassle ofc. I also agree with you in the part that, low voice brands are sometimes not the parts providers (even when they allegate theyve been certified, by whom that is), when looking onto making a serious investment and when looking for the finest parts. Thanks for the reply about the other brands, i wouldnt mind something more water friendly to come along with me sometimes, be it rain or wave ehe. I would also like an atomic watch, but the small loan of a million dollars wont cut it xD.

Hmm, im not sure . I dont think im a watch enthusiast, but i do have really strict rules on which timepiece i should aquire, and like i said, the world of mechanical watches is enormous, and for 400-500€, i wouldnt be surprised to see someone advertising a watch with some sort of mechanical movement, and ending up with some sort of a Quartz engine or a hybrid hyped Quartz one... There seems to be a difference, and the main one lies in the fact that i would rather not have to deal with eletronic batteries on a watch, as much as i would with a mechanical watch, automatic or manual movement. Also theres the fact that it would need to be aproved by COSC, as Swiss made and i quote how precise that is: See my dilemma :p? Only 3% of all watches in the world would match my criteria, which i presume are still several thousand different models, but the pricetags i presume are no less than 800€, bare minimum.

Lynda.com, seems to be running out of ideas too.

Yeah i know, its really what makes the whole process complicated. I mean, one might argue that the Rolex submariner that can survive at a depth in excess of 3900 meters on the Deep-sea watches, which i suppose do have a purpose for divers, for example. I personally wanted a watch, because like i stated above, its more of a collectible item that would make me proud of having, but then the pricing, branding and reputation comes to mind, and honestly, ive heard so many bad things about watches sub 1000€, without even counting fake Rolex, Audemar Piguet, Patek Philippe, Bremont, etc., in terms of how theyr built, theyr failure ratings, lack of costumer support and alike. Picking a watch is not like a computer, we get one because we want to, and rarely because we need to, but thats the problem, i want a really, really good looking, well built, swiss automatic mechanism and from a brand that doesnt like im throwing my cash onto a rose thorn field, but above all, one that would last me, until my time to set sail from this planet, literally. Like i said above, this is not the right place to be making such questions, but honestly i dont know where else i could go, where a thread like this could take months to get just 1 reply. Smartwatches sorta of fix all the problems i have in mind with the luxury watches, where the usually pack great hardware, utilities and aesthetics now with the Gear S3 Classic for example, but theyr still based on batteries and they dont last very long, so it would definetly not withstand the element im looking to stay above with the product im seeking, that being time, hence why i questioned if it would be better for me to get a timeless watch or a timerestricted one. Sorry to bother you with such a long reply :/, you dont need to reply, but if you dont mind :p, could you tell me what you think of my prespective and what should i do? Should i ask somewhere else, given the nature of the subject and you got any leads on where i could search for people interested in these types of products like me? "Do the art", :p, i want to do the art of my life, and that to me, is aquiring something that will paint time, as something that should be looked upon and respected, showcasing a piece that stood with me for my life, remending me that it is always good to have a loyal masterpiece on your wrist, when the lights go out, or batteries...

Well, i just checked them out and well, im not sure what to say :p. Theyr pricetag matches that of smartwatches and theyr all Quartz based movements, rather than mechanical self winding, so i presume that € per €, id rather have a smartwatch. But hey thanks for sharing, i think i might just end up forgeting the Rolex, Patek Philippe and whatnot dream and just get something functional, with style, rather than prestige and probably not appreciate it later (sigh, i would if i had the cash right away tough). Thanks!

Decent GPU, bad PSU and SSD uh? Okay, lets all cry for peace xD. -
Hey, thanks for replying :P. Well its that, i would really like to have something on my wrist that could prove to be helpful at least, so maybe a smartwatch would simply be the best option? Nonetheless, thanks for the reply, but im assuming pocket watches are just as expensive and not as compact :p.

Alright guys, so i want to make this not too long and straight to the point. Im currently using a pleb Casio F-91W watch (Very cheap digital rubber watch, that hurts my wrist after long time usage), and i have already talked to my parents about this and they told me that ill have to be patient and get my toughts on the right place before doing something i might regret, quite badly financially. Lets just say im interested in something that will give me the satisfaction of lasting for a long time or something that will simply last long enough, for me to find it useful and to be well kept for one human generation period, at least. Altough im gonna say, i have received recently an S7 Edge and ive always expressed some interest in smartwatches, particularly the current Gear S3 variant from Samsung, since i suppose it not only looks good, but it has a lot of features that are useful for me in the long run (i constantly miss calls and notifications on my phone, because always in silence, so a watch that would replace it, would surely be nice). On the other hand i have the option to save some money, and invest into a real man watch, and by that i mean a watch that uses a mechanical automatic "swiss" made contraption, with sturdy, stylish and certainly fine and exquisite materials (its my niche, and so it will depend from person to person), and theres honestly two levels im considering right now, as it follows: Swiss made, ranging from high-end watches to luxurious masterpiece watches, but not legendary ones that have been passed down by royalty and that cost over +100,000~500,000€, heck i dont even want to get to the four digit mark, so 10,000€ is not even something im currently thinking of. Okay, its getting too long and i dont want to bother you guys, and i believe ive made a similar thread like this before, but this is the real one (i have a separate money accounting tab, so to speak, just for a watch investment, if necessary). I believe time is the most powerful element of them all, and i honestly want a product that will be associated with time, from the hands of the most seasoned craftsmen, or just something really good that has an intelligence factor. State your opinions if you may please, i would really appreciate your phrasing in here. Sidenote: If you can find something that packs these specifications, at under 10,000€ and the brand is reputable enough, please do post: "Platinum dials/housing or Ceramic casing/dials, sapphire display, titanium strap, ATM level of 5-20 or more, with an automatic mechanical mainspring and at least 40 hours of power reserve." Seriously guys, if youve read it all then i thank you and i understand this is a bad forum to post such a sensitive topic, that i may have repeated more than once, but this time its for real and i want to know what direction i should take for the future, wether that is thinking and feeling the luxury on my wrist or staying with the smartwatch market and be happy that it will improve my lifestyle, while still being relatively exquisite.

Well, but the release date xD!
