  1. Not a device specifically, the wiring for the 5 gb port runs through our attic and into my office into a wall plate (not rj45, but one of those big boys that I can't recall the name of that has a rj45 connection on the other side like a normal port) which as of right now I have a Netgear 1 gig switch hooked into that feeds into my gaming rig, work laptop, and mac studio (and rPi once I decide to clear some time to get that set back up with pihole and a personal vpn). The sfp+ port is what's being used to connect the gateway to the att fiber connection.
  2. Currently using the provided gateway from AT&T which is the BGW320-500 and one of the ports supports up to 5gbps which is the one I have wired to my office (only have the 2 gig plan). Basically just trying to get the speed from my wall (2000mbps, usually over for some reason at 2.3 down and up) to two of my machines while the others would be fine with just 1000mbps. Budget would preferably be under $150 USD since after reading your reply I haven't been able to find a cheap(ish) one.
  3. Are the Flex Mini's able to be used as a standalone switch without any other Unifi products or a controller? My current switch is 1 gig only and I have a 2 gig connection through ATT Fiber (possibly looking to upgrade to 5 gig soon) and would like to actually get all of the speed to my gaming rig and work station. I do plan on actually having an entirely Ubiquiti setup in the near future (cameras, door access, etc) but right now am just in need of a switch.
  4. I was actually looking into getting the previous pro model (the highly expensive one) just so I could stream my PC games to my downstairs TV. Is that still possible with this new updated version? If so I will pick one up the second it's in stock as it's even cheaper and I need to replace my old chromecast anyways.
  5. Just now having the time to come back in here and reply! So as it turns out I went with a totally different build LOL. I got the 8 core base build and upgraded to 32GB Ram, the upgraded GPU and kept it at the 1TB SSD. I may try out the free trial of Final Cut (i'm an adobe nerd and love premiere) but may also try out Davinci Resolve as well.
  6. Thank you! Is there any benefit for my needs what so ever to get the higher priced model that comes with an 8 core cpu?
  7. Yeah I'm wanting a Mac for my laptop needs (wanting to start developing iOS and iPad apps one day soon after learning Python which is actually coming along nicely). I also don't want another windows machine when I already have that for my desktop and gaming needs.
  8. Hey all! I'm currently looking into getting the new Macbook Pro that just recently came out in the past few months. I will be using it for programming (pycharm, other IDE's, vscode), video editing, and a few other adobe apps as well alongside the other basic stuff (internet browsing, email, media consumption, etc etc). I am wondering if the one I have specced out will be enough to handle this all.
  9. I hope this is in the right place. I recently purchased a second monitor. It's an Acer VG240Y. Whenever I turn the monitor off by the power button Windows 10 acts as if it has been unplugged and disconnected from the GPU (2070 super) and every window goes back over to my older monitor as if only one monitor is hooked up. Is there anyway to fix this at all??? It's really really annoying to have to resize and reposition all of my windows to where I like them. This only happens when it's connected via displayport, it doesn't happen when using HDMI (I'd rather not use HDMI as I want to use freesync with the monitor).
  10. Thank you very much! I actually love that build list after looking it all over. I may end up picking a different case but that all depends if I find one I like a lot. The soundcard actually looks decent (I think, I also know nothing about them). I may just go post in the soundcard forum here to find out which one to get.
  11. I would agree as well. I think both console and pc gaming should be used for their respective eSports discussions
  12. Alright I need some help planning out my new build. I don't really have a budget, recently started a new position at my job that gives me a huge pay increase. Currently I have: gtx 780 i7-4790k some power supply Ive had since 2012 8gb of ddr3 ram 250gb intel ssd 1tb hdd 500gb hdd I forgot which one it is but the corsair liquid cooling product And a motherboard that I don't think supports nvme I'm wanting to build a new rig and keep the current one for what ever needs and purposes I see fit later down the line, maybe a dedicated streaming rig or maybe just a server. My new rig needs to be suited for gaming at 1440p with goals of max settings also at 144hz. Also want to use it for video editing, photoshop, after effects, programming and other basic tasks. And in case I don't use the old pc for a streaming rig I'd like for it to be able to record and also stream gameplay at either 720p or 1080p 60hz at the same time. Now I'm not sure where to start. I know I want an nvme ssd that has a high amount of storage space (want to use it for booting and also keeping some games and programs on there like pubg/gta v/rdr2/cyberpunk/league of legends/all adobe programs that i'll be using) and I also want to upgrade away from my current HDD's that I've also had since 2012, for those I'm looking to have a total of like 5-10tb of space (I store all of my movies to use on plex on my hdd's). Graphics card wise I'm not sure what to get. I'm thinking of the 2080 ti or maybe something amd? Processor is the same. Leaning between the i9-9900k or something amd (I haven't paid too much attention to amd lately to know what compares and what could be better). Motherboard I'd like to have something that can also do Bluetooth so I can connect Bluetooth devices like controllers etc without always needing a wire. Power supply I'd love to have something fully modular. I'm terrible on my current build when it comes to wire management and that's partly due to the excess of cables from my psu that I just shove in there. Probably something 850w or more. Ram I'd like to have ddr4 and at least 32gb or more (trying to future proof for games a bit even though I know that's stupid, and because I like to have a lot of tabs open in firefox) Cooling I'm probably going to stick with corsairs liquid solutions but upgrade to one of their newer ones as mine is showing it's age (have had it for maybe 3 or 4 years now). I'd also love to have a dedicated sound card if that's smart at all. I've always thought about it but have never actually looked into what I should get or what's best. Other than that I'm not really sure what else I would need or require that's a must. I love RGB though so if any of your suggestions could have that as a factor that'd be nice lol.
  13. And with that kind of attitude have fun not making anything more online when your channel is killed off due to youtubes policies
  14. Yeah Kai doesn't contain all of the fillers Personally I'd just watch the original. Kai ends at the Cell saga and then you'd have to switch to the original to finish the Buu saga and continue onto Super which also uses the original voice actors (so you'd be watching up to the cell with different ones then after that the original). You can just skip filler episodes yourself.
  15. The free Batman games are for use only on the Epic Game Store. So for PC. Can't get them on console.
  16. That has nothing to do with this thread not being about Linux. Just like there was a 10 ways OSX is better and then this video there will most likely be a 10 ways Linux is better. Wait to comment until then.
  17. It's up to you to provide your source on claims you make, not anyone else's. I've checked 20 store fronts (major ones, non major, key resellers and the likes) and haven't seen one listing for $20.
  18. So a personal trainer may actually be good for you. I had the issue at first when I first started going back to the gym (I did power lifting and sports in highschool then stopped caring from 18 to 25) and I had forgotten everything was had anxiety going into the gym (that's where my girlfriend came in and helped me, she's actually a personal trainer herself so I'm very fortunate). From what I've read and even experienced myself I would suggest both weight training and cardio. In that order. Your body has two, I'll call them reservoirs, of energy it can use. The energy you get from the protein you eat during the day and then that of whats stored in your body in your fat cells. Now cardio will burn through most but not all of your protein intake if you do it first and it also doesn't use it as efficiently as weight training (protein is a huge factor in muscle growth). So by weight training first you use your protein to help fuel your body and grow your muscles and by the time you get to cardio your body is ready to use the other energy in your fat cells to burn through to keep you going during that. Also yes your diet is a HUGE VERY HUGE factor. You can workout 7 days a week for hours on end but still see very little improvement. Your diet and what you eat is 70% of the solution. You can start tracking calories with an app on your phone that lets you scan the products barcode to get it's information. You also need to stay away from huge amounts of sodium and fats. I only cheat on my meals Friday nights and Saturday all day. Every other day is healthy and meal prepped for the week. Your teach is smart and right when he/she makes you do that. Being able to do one amount of weight at one rep isn't going to help. Now doing a lighter amount for a huge amount of reps is what will. For your muscles to grow you need to tear them apart which is what weight training does and then allow them to recover and repair themselves. And repeated actions will help greatly with that. For toning your body and defining your muscles you always want to do lower weights for high amount of reps (for instance on shoulders I do shoulder press, lateral raises, side raises at 4 sets x 12 reps at 20 pounds). For growing muscles you want to go from lower weight with high reps to higher weight with low reps (example shoulder press: 12 reps at 20 pounds, 10 at 25, 8 at 27.5, 6 at 30) and when you start getting stronger you keep raising the weight for each set. Now your shoulders hurting from deadlifting shouldn't be happening and could be due to form. Deadlifts are for your legs and glutes. That's what you should be using to lift the weight, nothing else. Your hands and arms are there only for you to hold the weight to lift it. Depending on how many reps though your arms/shoulders can be tired from holding onto the weight for so long.
  19. My girlfriend and I go 4 times a week, more if we are bored Our usual workout routine is Monday - Leg day Tuesday - Shoulders Wednesday - Leg day Thursday - Biceps, triceps, back and anything else we missed On all days we also do 15 minutes of cardio (usually HIIT or walking on an high incline at a steady speed) and abs. I've been attempting to cut my weight for the past 2 months or so by only eating one meal a day (usually under my amount of calories for maintenance). Haven't fully been able to lose my belly yet though but I am at 195 pounds. Was over 200 back in January. Now though I'm trying to bulk though. So I eat a meal comprised of two chicken thighs, a cup of brown rice, and some green beans for lunch, then a bowl of pasta with alfredo sauce and one chicken breast for dinner. I am also about to start my supplements back up with creatine and protein powder.
  20. The forum doesn't use phpBB but yes there should be something for IPB if I remember correctly.
  21. Frist off you'd still have access to your account that has the games on there so you wouldn't need to re buy them. Secondly you're the one asking advice on how to keep buying from a company that wants you to be a victim of fraud so it seems you're alright with that from the get go so I don't see why that's a problem with you.
  22. Microsoft has stated all Microsoft Games Studios games that are made will be available on the PC as well through the windows store. Steam most likely not (kind of surprised Gears 5 is going to be on there) and then Halo also being on there is pretty awesome too but I don't see other games being on there. Now I'm not sure if the forza dev's are owned by Microsoft to make them a ms games studio but if they are forza will be on the pc.
  23. I'm too lazy to go back and find the post you said in Australia it's illegal to have any moving objects showing on your phone screen while driving (besides GPS which is allowed) You're progress bar for the song is moving, so that means it's illegal. Quit complaining about not being allowed to fiddle with your phone while driving and keep your eyes on the road before you run over someone's innocent kid because you were too busy trying to look at some stupid cover art for a song.
