If anyone was interested, I decided to keep my desktop

Nope he's local and lives in the same suburb, plus i live on gumtree aust where he posted it lol, he only posted it yesterday and he has 2 seperate ads, 1 with the laptop for sale at $1999 and another with a offer of trade for high end gaming desktop. where as my desktop has been listed for sometime with pretty much zero interest.

does anyone think this is a risk worth taking?? and no i'm not talking ebay haha

it to get a trade up, put it this way...... i want to sell my desktop to build a newer better build but mine only cost less then $1200 for me to build a year ago, so i could not sell it for all that much now, But this laptop was bought for $3000 a year ago and currently sell for $1750 minimum 2nd hand here..... i want to clean swap my tower for the Alienware 17 R5 sell it in the used market for around $200 less then any other going in the country with these specs 2nd hand and with those funds build my overclocking i5/z97/gtx980 or 970 build... see my thinking now lol hope that explains it better it's late here.

Ok so here's my dilemma peoples, I have an opportunity tomorrow to swap my gaming desktop(tower only) for a gaming laptop......... why you say? ok here's the thing... i see a opportunity here to possibly end up with the new desktop build i want if all goes well and you guys agree, Keep in mind i'm in Australia so i will list all the values according to Aust dollar. My desktop was built a year ago now and the specs/cost is as follows: Thermaltake Level 10 GTS case, CPU i5-4570, Asrock B85m pro4 motherboard, Asus GTX 680 Direct CU II OC 2gbddr5, G.Skill ripjaws x 8gb 1600, Samsung 840 120gb SSD, Antec HCG 620w PSU, cpl bitfenix fans and a Coolermaster hyper 212 evo. now this cost me $1152 australian to build a year ago What the guy is happy to swap me is a as new with all accessories/case, seen it and had a play with it today all works perfect and in fantastic condition. Alienware 17 R5 i7-4700mq 17.3" full hd 4th gen gaming laptop in excellent condition in box with original purchase reciept $3000 Australian a year ago 17.3" 1920 x 1080p 4th gen i7 4700mq 2.4-3.4 ghz x 4 4 cores 8 threads 16 gig ddr3l ram 2 x 750 gig wd 7200 rpm hdd plus 64 gig msata ssd all in raid array 3 gig ddr5 nvidia 770m graphics The cheapest one of these for sale 2nd hand here i can find with these specs is $1750aust, Now i'm thinking sell this quick for say $1600Australian and build my new Z97/gtx 980 desktop?? thoughts plz any help appreciated thanks very much.

Well this is an easy one, I have been using my username since around 2004, the x is used as a space and WN stands for Warrior Nation my old clan from early Battle for Middle Earth 1&2 days, i was one of 3 Founding Fathers of the BFME 2 section for the warrior nation and had been using the name DeMoNiK for a long time so was an easy choice.

Well i have to agree with most your points, but will we see a WoW 2 i don't think so, they can just continue to build on a already successful platform with many established players/subbers(as we see once again with Warlods of Draenor soon to be released). but i am exited to see just where Blizzard do go next now, always been a Warcraft fan and now maybe a new really well designed modern Warcraft RTS would be awesome!!

Well to clarify that i'm not counting old Atari's/Commodore 64's etc, but my first actual pc was a pentium 386 then a 486, I was a big Warcraft 1 & 2 fan needed the 486 for Warcraft II i think lol.

Hi guy's my name is Steve and i thought i should introduce myself to the forum as i expect i will be quite busy/active in the near future. I just completed my first ever ground up build about 9 months ago, as it was my first build i went for the easy no fuss, non-overclocking single GPU build for my gaming needs. now i have always been into computers/gaming just never attempted a build before, in saying this my non-overclocking system is wearing thin on me now and i'm about to start a monster build very soon, so watch this space in the near future for my next project and i can't wait to get any more advice and tech help from the current forum members and give back what i can. cheers for reading.
