Pelikan's Achievements

  1. I have a custom loop with a 4690k at 5.2ghz 1.36v.. Never goes above 60. Even with a heavily OCD 290x in the loop
  2. EkWB makes solid blocks. Great quality so your on the money there. Rads are pretty much all the same. Copper internals with aluminum fins. Fins per inch is the only difference between rads and that will depend on rad thickness. 30mm thickness on the top of the case and 60+ everywhere else. Can't go wrong with the Liang D5 pumps. They flow really well and have a 5 year continuous runtime rating. I currently use a copper ek supremacy evo CPU block and a nickel plated GPU block. Nickel is a non reactive so you're good. I'd recommend for best thermal dissipation to use DazModes anti corrosion/biocidal fluid with distilled water.. simple and effective. www.dazmode.com - best water cooling site imo and great service
  3. Keep this thread going. I'm super interested in following the process and seeing the outcome
  4. Yes there were 2 capacitors on each end of the block obstructing fitment. It was honestly easy, just nerve wracking at one point because of one the spots was pretty close to the water channel lol. All went well though
  5. My whole excitement was around the fact that I modified this block to fit my PCB and to my surprise it cooled an 88-90 degree card down to 45 degrees with no issues. Not saying it out of the norm, was just excited to see my grinding and fitment didn't affect cooling performance. And yes I was shocked at the load temp differences
  6. Nope MSI released a version 308-014 version 2.2 pcb.. ek did not release a block for this card
  7. This is with the addition of waterblocks?
  8. Got a 1000p evga supernova for 169.99 CAD and it's 80+ platinum
  9. Love the literal tube loop.. clean tube routing is nice, but it's cool to see more abstract looking routing out there
  10. Ambient is much warmer today. about 26 celcius! Still a 40 degree drop in load temps lol.. BOO YA!!!
  11. If you have a custom loop with nice thick rads and a good water block the 290x is beast. Absolute overclock monster. If your running on air. It's hot, loud and finicky
