I'm probably going to swap my Vega 56 for one, I'm not going to pre order or anything silly like that, but if it the reviewers get it, and give it their approval, then I'll probably get one.  Why?  Because I've been saving up for one for a few months and I've got the money.  Also, I got a killer deal on my Vega 56, so I'll be able to sell it at a minimal loss, and the three games included are all three games I planned on buying anyway.  Technically, I already got gifted Resident Evil 2 Remake, so I could probably even sell that download code as well.  So saving the $180ish on the game bundle, selling one of the down load codes, and selling my current card will net me a pretty inexpensive upgrade overall.

Then, the saving will start again in prep for a CPU upgrade when the 3000 series CPU's come out.

+25% is like going from a GTX 1080 to a GTX 1080ti...it's a nice upgrade but the card is 700$ and your Vega will probably be worth 350$ max once the new cards launch...so IMHO not worth it for that kind of money.

She also said it uses the same amount of power...so gain nothing there either...no new tech, no ray tracing etc...

If you need more performance, it's probably cheaper and wiser to sell your vega card right now for 380$ or something and grab a used 1080ti instead

...and 16GB of it...who needs that much memory anyways...it's indeed a strange choice.

Please hold it in the US. Most people don't want to/can't drive to Canada. Even in Seattle, it is much more reasonable than Vancouver.

For 6 users? nah. perfect case for NAS4Free. Being open source you will always be able to restore these with or without the software.

You'll want two of them in mirror configurations, one is the working NAS the users access.. the other is a backup that receives nightly or hourly snapshots from the primary NAS. Very easy to setup, very reliable.

Raid5 will tank your performance. Mirrors are preferred here.

If it goes down and you lost all your data, guess what.. your still going to get fired so CYA is out the window. B the only thing your using here is ZFS and it's very common. Data corruption is essentially non-existent on ZFS and lots of things can read a ZFS volume. There is no reason to rope yourself to a commercial vendor who may or may not provide support to you or upgrades or any kind of path to the future.
