  1. Yeah if I ended up going the sound bar route I was thinking something like the Yamaha YAS-209 https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-YAS-209-Wireless-Subwoofer-Bluetooth/dp/B07T5GGR8L since I think that is the most it makes sense to spend on a 2.1 sound bar; I've had a $700 one that just sounded ok, certainly not worth $700. The reason I mentioned the stereo setup as an alternative was that I was hoping stereo receivers might not be as much of a pain as AVRs like you mentioned (if anyone can speak to this please let me know). I also don't really have an advantage with an AV setup since I will likely be pushing the couch against the wall and cant really run rear speakers. The downside of a stereo receiver such as this one https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-Audio-R-S202BL-Stereo-Receiver/dp/B01EMQI2CU is that it is only analog, so I would need to add cheap DAC and I am unsure if that setup would play nicely with a tv, or have similar issues to an AV receiver. I have also seen little stereo amplifiers such as this one https://www.amazon.com/S-M-S-L-AD18-Amplifier-Bluetooth-Subwoofer/dp/B071JN7GXN that include DACs, and I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work in this case, but I have never seen or heard of anyone using one of these in their TV setup so I am a little unsure. What are your thoughts?
  2. Hey guys, I'm looking at getting a new TV setup and I'm curious what you guys run for audio. I hate to say it but my first reaction is to just get a soundbar because I haven't had great experiences with AV receivers for tv's in the past. I find they don't always work seamlessly with TV's and inputs from cable boxes, they often don't turn on with the TV correctly, or get all messed up when changing between audio sources. At the same time, I would appreciate the sound upgrade from using a decent stereo setup over a soundbar, and I'm interested what you all have to say and what your recommendations are.
  3. Yeah its possible you accidently loosened something while you were cleaning.
  4. Thanks for the input, I haven't had much luck finding people who have tried both and sadly there isn't a store near me that carries them so I can't try them myself. Could I ask what you preferred about the aeron? just generally more comfortable?
  5. I was looking at that as well since many say it is extremely comfortable, but I've also heard the build quality is not as good as Herman Miller which is why I was leaning towards them.
  6. I'm looking at getting a new desk chair, budget is not a concern as it is something I will get a lot of use out of. I have been trying to decided between the Herman Miller Aeron and the Embody - has anyone sat in both?
  7. The meshify C is definitely a better choice for cooling, as far as cases go its pretty decent and will cool just fine. However, the other case I would say is generally below average for cooling. I would definitely recommend the meshify out of the two.
  8. Sounds exactly like what you are describing, it is a fan that has too much play and is clipping the grate.
  9. It won't adversely affect your monitor but I don't see an advantage to under-clocking your monitor's refresh rate. You might as well leave it at 165hz and if you don't get that many frames there is no issue with that.
  10. Out of curiosity what makes you say that? From past generations? Benchmarks for the 3000 series cards show that the tuf coolers are on par with competitors.
  11. Do you just want to do it for fun? Its definitely not worth trying to mod
  12. That's true, but most games have a setting where you could set the max framerate to your monitors refresh rate. This would be more ideal because you don't want your framerate jumping all over the place, it makes the game feel not smooth and its not a good experience. In short, a 1650 super certainly isn't overkill for todays games if that's what you are asking.
  13. Haha not to be rude, but I'm guessing your're new to computers? There's no advantage to staying under your monitors refresh rate. In fact in a perfect world you would never want your framerate to drop under your monitor's refresh rate.
  14. Looks pretty good, there's a chance it might not work but I doubt it would destroy your cpu.
  15. Sounds like you had a short. Some manufactures use a different pinout for cables, definitely don't use the power supply with the corsair cables.
  16. Come on now, obviously nobody knows. I was asking opinion of expectations, just like everyone expected the 3070 to sell out immediately. While I do not need one immediately, I would rather not be in a situation waiting until mid 2021 to get one just like the 3080.
  17. Hey guys, the ryzen 5000 series is being released next week and I was just wondering what the general consensus for the stock at launch is going to be. Are they generally expected to be sold out at launch like gpus lately, or is it safe to wait for reviews to buy one? I want to build a new computer and I am hoping to get one of the new rdna2 cards but I don't want to get stuck with a cpu and no gpu or vise versa.
  18. Have you heard many of the other HD500 series headphones? Do you think it will sound much better than my HD558? Also out of curiosity how did you even buy the HD560S? Preorder?
  19. Are you suggesting that I should go with the HD560S instead? Do we even expect that they will become widely available for purchase within the next month?
  20. Hey guys, about 6 years ago on here I was recommended the HD 558 and I've gotten a ton of use out of them. I'm very thankful I was convinced to go with open back headphones, but it is about time to replace them, as I've never even replaced the pads. I am between the Beyer 300r TYGRs and the HD 560S, although I am leaning toward the Beyers for the soundstage that I've come to appreciate with open backs. My only concern with the Beyers is that I've heard they can be fatiguing to use, and I am going to be using these headphones a lot - is there anybody who owns them that can comment on this? Also how comfortable are they with the round earcups? I am going to be using these headphones for everything: music, gaming (already have a modmic), and a lot of youtube.
  21. Hi guys, my computer is about 7 years old at this point and up until this point I haven't overclocked it at all simply because I haven't had to, I've maxed out all the games I have played until now. Today I turned my clock speed up on my 780 Ti to 1160 MHz and after running unigine heaven on ultra settings, 8x anti aliasing, 1080p and moderate tessellation I came out with a score of 2100. I continued to run heaven for about 10 mins and I noticed my gpu temperatures were good at 75 C although the VRM temperature was 92 C. Does the VRM temperature seem high? What should be considered in safe range? I also noticed some stuttering on heaven, is this normal for the program or does it have something to do with my card? Thanks in advance for your input, my full PC specs are in my profile if anyone is curious.
  22. In my opinion it is, I actually prefer a smaller screen like that when i'm gaming because you don't have to look around very far to see the whole screen if that makes any sense.
  23. last time I was at the Microsoft store they had one, i'm not sure if they have one in Orlando.
  24. Because the PSU is only semi modular you would only be able to use a few of those sleeved cables depending on what the power requirement/how many components you have in your system. In my opinion it isn't worth it to get another PSU and the cables that are attached to it already have a black sleeve over them anyway.
  25. From the ones you listed I would say go with the corsair but as sam said Samsung is much higher quality.
