Linus if you're reading this. Just know you've helped so many people. Even though the make wish story was sad, just realize you've impacted so many others when they have been in thier low point in thier life, so never think what you're doing is not important, it is to someone out there who regularly comes back to your channel and just forgot about the problems in thier. That had to be worth it.

It's alright to take a break, but I watch wan show regularly for your commentary, not necessarily for tech news, so if you do take a break, it's your opinion I miss the most, since they've always matched my own, but don't quit, there's not a lot of you in todays age of YouTubers not being truthful to thier audience.

Just remember you'll always be the fact of PC, the one person everyone around links or talks about when talking about tech, you're basically keanu Reeves of PC TECH.

This hits me more because just Sunday I had mentioned about how glad I am LTT had remained constant since the beginning.

Sceptre TV's are decent low/mid tv's.. they are not smart tv's so youd need a roku or such to do apps. thats another reason for cheap price. if you do get them check the screens and make sure theres no dead or stuck pixels. if so exchange it. thats about it

Thought I would try my hand at a tutorial, or install guide if you will.

Background, This TUT should get you up and running with vjoySerialFeeder for arduino and windows.

    Step 1.)  Arduino setup
Step 2.) Download and install 'vjoy'
Step 3.) Download the vJoySerialFeeder release and unzip
Step 4.) Download the arduino files and place them all in the same directory, named "Joystick".
Step 5.) modifying the .ino file for your hardware.
Step 5B?) Running a test sketch instead.
Step 6.) Starting and configuring the SerialFeeder application.
Step 7.) Adding buttons and configuring thresholds
    Step 8.) Profit
I hope this has been informative.

JMTHEFOX reacted to SPARTAN VI in What? Phanteks ITX Rig is EVOLV'ing!
So I finally have all my parts in one spot, the kids are napping, and the UEFI has been updated to support Ryzen 3000. Great. Start the build with the tried and true method of using the motherboard box as a test bench. Everything is humming along until I got to the damned Wraith Prism latching lever mechanism. The motherfucker does NOT want to budge.

I know I'm not a complete idiot. I've built dozens upon dozens of gaming rigs, both Intel and AMD, over the past 20 years. I reseat it, change orientation, reseat it again, nothing I do will make the lever budge beyond 30 degrees or so. So finally, I relent and decide to watch a goddamn YouTube video, which only confirmed my suspicions that only my Wraith Prism is a stubborn prick. Frustrated and a little clammy, I incrementally apply pressure on the lever until I'm basically at full force. You'll never guess what happened next:

Or maybe you did guess? Yep, I've now a copper/aluminum/plastic paperweight called a Wraith Prism.

Fired AMD a warranty ticket and within a couple of days they approve to ship a replacement. It's still not here. Fast forward to today... kids are napping and I've got time. Rummaged through my old parts and find a dilapidated Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition HTPC build I put together a little over 10 years ago. Cha-ching! This thing has an AM3 heatsink that looks like it was unearthed in an archaeological dig, but it fits the Athlon 200GE bootkit loaner, so I threw it on the 3700X as well.

    Behold all this sexy, gents:

Yeah, that's two copper heatpipes boys. It kept my Ryzen 3700X idling at 42C in Win10. And here's a quick comparison of the various heatsinks I had on hand.

Top: "Free" Wraith Prism (fukt lever)
Middle: Mystery cooler from Phenom II X3 720 BE build
Bottom: All aluminum loser from Athlon 200GE bootkit loaner

Comfortable that the CPU is sufficiently cooled, unboxing of the Phanteks EVOLV Tempered Glass ITX can finally begin. Wait... what's this? They didn't include an intake 200mm fan as they did in prior non-TG SKUs? That's an awful surprise, but my "interchangeable parts" plan has already started to bear fruit! I just so happened to have a spare Phanteks 200mm intake fan from an RMA 3 years ago!

Wait... what's this? Their accessory box is just a cardboard box with a baggy of loose screws? THEY DIDNT EVEN INCLUDE SCREWS TO MOUNT THE 200MM FAN?!?!

Old SKU included a branded container for accessories, new TG SKU includes cheap cardboard box with baggies. Thanks Phanteks...

Anyway, I hop over to my i7-6700 rig and take a couple of donor screws from the front 200mm intake and use it to mount the spare 200mm fan on the new tempered glass case. Can always order more screws later so each have 4, but this will work fine for now.

Ah... finally assembled. Took a break... and a picture. Migrating my drives is next, and not looking forward to it.

I would still recommend this game as one of the best linear single player experiences ever made. Figuring the puzzles out is meant to be a challenge. Dont be so hard on yourself and do yourself a huge favor and play this game. Walktroughs will be there if you get completely stuck but its not hard enough for that, just takes a bit of time. Get the first. It can be beat in about 2-3 hours first time and should give you an idea of what to expect if you dont want to make the investment into the full game.

It's still not very possible to game directly on linux, you'd want to do something like a GPU passthrough to a windows virtual machine, or stream the game from your main PC also get a 380 over a 950, it's certainly worth the extra 30 dollars or so

JMTHEFOX reacted to MahtXL in HUGE Windows 10 Question Answered!
So i was worried about getting windows 10 in one week because i knew i would be changing my motherboard out soon after, and of course we know windows 10 will bind to your "system" aka the hardware. Changing the motherboard would break this activation, would i then have to buy windows 10 just because i upgraded my motherboard? WELL we have an answer.

If you upgrade to windows 10 then change your motherboard or other critical part that will then constitute a "new pc" you can simply reinstall your old legit copy of windows. install sp1 (if its windows 7) and do the GWX upgrade process again for your new motherboard. This can apparently be done as many times as needed until the free year is up. This is of course a last resort if windows 10 just refuses to re activate on your new motherboard, or calling in doesnt work. This is a last resort thing, that will apparently work.

Good news for those of us upgrading our systems post windows 10.

Slightly overbudget but stronger by a MASSIVE amount.. I highly suggest upping the budget for this, maybe even a bit more to get an I5.
