welp I just pulled the trigger and spent $1.1k on a new rig and desk. I love getting new stuff but I hate seeing money leave my account. I wish I was 16 again and had no problem spending money. It hurts.

I'm definitely not 16 and I've never had an easier time spending money.

If you have money its probably no issue. Most my money is tied up in investments aside from my emergency fund. I never keep much in my checking account. After this I have about $800 left in it.

Pretty much if the purchase won't make me money I'm always eh about it unless its needed to survive like food, bills etc.. I can't write it off on taxes either. When its a purchase just for "fun" I have a hard time doing it.

What's the point of living if you're not enjoying it?

You can't take money with you when you die.

Who says I am not enjoying life lol. I get more joy seeing my money passively go up VS me buying cool toys and having my accounts dip. Its kind've addicting to go to bed with X amount and wake up with like 3 - 15% more money on a good day. its not like I never spend money on cool or random stuff its just very rare. Its getting to the point my rig is holding me back so a upgrade I know is needed as much as I hate to spend the money. My plan is to be able to retire early even if its only by a few years or when I get to that age I will have money built up that I can live off of with no worries at all while still being able to do cool things and splurge with that money a bit. If I never get to that point I guess the closest person to me is lucky and will get all my money and assets and they can hopefully have fun with it. Id hope id have kids by that point if that was how it played out.

I still spend money like I planned a vacation to Colorado this summer but that will probably not happen anymore but its not fun to me to spend money when I know I won't get any return from it. Sure it may be fun but im not at the point where I have a family and kids to where I want to go out and make cool memories for the kids. When I get to that point I bet ill have no problem spending more money then I do now. Its all what you get the most enjoyment from.
