  1. Here’s a short video of what happens. I’m smashing delete the entire time. A4ECE75D-A20D-4CAF-BFDA-BD0019D3613F.MOV
  2. Yes, exactly like that. I've pressed delete infinitely and still nothing.
  3. I bought the SSD that is the boot drive about 2 years ago. But if I don't even have it attached I still can't get into the UEFI
  4. A friend of mine upgraded his gaming pc recently and gave me his old parts to get my wife a PC going. They worked when removed from his pc. I installed everything in a case and got everything hooked up. I turn it on, but it shows the UEFI splash screen, then goes to the next screen telling me I have no drives connected (I've tried it both with them connected and disconnected) and then the screen goes black. Monitor is still receiving some sort of signal as the monitor light stays blue. I try to enter the UEFI to make sure that settings are correct but when I press delete on the splash screen to enter, it skips right to the next screen showing the drives and then the black screen. I've tried both a PS2 and USB keyboard and the same result on both. Motherboard is a ASUS M5A99X EVO. CPU is AMD FX4100 GTX 780 reference Windows 7 8gb Gskill Sniper ram. I've tried resetting the bios both via the jumper and shorting the battery compartment.
  5. Is there any advantage to spending the extra money on the 1300x over the 2200g? Will it hurt to have an APU and a dedicated GPU?
  6. I'm looking to build a decent gaming rig for my sister for <$600US. SHe's mainly interested in Overwatch and Minecraft as well as some Photoshop type editing. Here's the build I came up with. How's it look? 7. I'm looking to build a light gaming/photo editing rig for my sister. I'm trying to do it as cheaply as possible since she doesn't have a ton of fundage. I was looking at Ryzens and had thought the 2200g looked like a good cpu for the price. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/RkJtt6/amd-ryzen-3-2200g-35ghz-quad-core-processor-yd2200c5fbbox I then started looking at motherboards, but it seems any of the a/b series chipsets say they will likely require a bios update to work with the CPU I've chosen. Does anyone have any sort of experience with this CPU and that chipset? Or should I just go for the x370 chipset and be safe?
  8. I have 2 I came up with that should run it I assume? Is it better to go with the Quad APU or the dual core with a standalone 2gb graphics card? 9. How's something like this going to perform in Minecraft? PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: AMD - Ryzen 3 1200 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor ($115.26 @ Amazon) Motherboard: ASRock - A320M-DGS Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($53.48 @ Newegg) Memory: G.Skill - Aegis 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($84.89 @ OutletPC) Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($46.55 @ OutletPC) Case: DIYPC - DIY-F2-O MicroATX Mini Tower Case ($32.07 @ Newegg) Power Supply: SeaSonic - S12II 520W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($33.13 @ Newegg) Total: $365.38 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2018-02-06 14:05 EST-0500
  10. Well, she still wants decent performance for the price. Just not looking to spend a fortune.
  11. My sister wants a PC that will allow her to do some photoshop editing as well as play minecraft. She doesn't play any other games, and uses photoshop (gimp) for crafty stuff. I guess my question is how important would a graphics card be for something like this? The budget is "As cheap as possible". Building things like this are a bit out of my wheel house, I'm used to putting together full gaming machines. Any advice would be appreciated.
  12. I don't plan on running a dual setup for gaming, I just want a 2nd monitor for keeping webpages/other things open on while I'm gaming, possibly streaming utilities and occasionally for productivity reasons. My main monitor is an ASUS VG248QE monitor. I'd like to get one that is as close as possible to it, without spending the money for the "gaming" features it has (144Hz and 1ms response time). Anyone have any experience with ASUS monitors that are 24" that they could recommend?
  13. I'm not sure if it's best to ask this here or in the Software forums, I apologize if it's wrong. A friend of mine recently purchased a new SSD for his PC, he wants to put the SSD currently in his rig into his son's new PC. What software does a good job of cloning everything including the OS? He'd like to be able to clone it and not have to reinstall windows and everything else.
  14. I'm looking at adding a 2nd SSD to my system just for my most played games. I'd like to get a 500GBish drive. I've looked at Tom's Hardware and they seemed to recommend https://www.amazon.com/ADATA-Premier-SP550-Superior-ASP550SS3-480GM-C/dp/B013J7P7SK/ref=pd_rhf_gw_p_img_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=R7FNA89HJDJN8QMMG326 That AData drive. Are there any other options that are as good or better for right around the $120 range?
  15. I think this is what I'm going to go with and have him wait for the board partner RX480s. My only issue is the Motherboard. I can't seem to find a decent full atx board that is reasonably priced, and isn't red or blue lol. PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($213.98 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170XP-SLI ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($105.93 @ Amazon) Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($63.11 @ Newegg) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($53.48 @ Amazon) Case: NZXT S340 - Designed by Razer ATX Mid Tower Case ($101.63 @ Amazon) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($76.22 @ Newegg) Total: $614.35 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-07-06 18:13 EDT-0400
  16. lol I just realized the only difference is the motherboard.
  17. I've come up with 2 builds minus the gpu. Are either of these decent, and where could I cut to make a little room for the gpu? 18. Also, any word on when the new partner cards will be releasing?
  19. Eww Arsenal! Honestly though I'm just glad to see another football fan!
  20. I believe so. His mouse and keyboard are both Razer, so maybe for that theme?
  21. I've been banging my head against a wall trying to come up with a build with a budget of $900 for my a friend's son, for his graduation. I posted here a couple of weeks ago, and was advised to wait for the RX 480s. So I did, but now it seems there are some power draw issues with it, and I'm not sure if it's still the best for the price. Anyway, if I could get any sort of help I'd appreciate it. He's going to be playing at 1080p on a TV (I'm guessing 60hz?) He has a keyboard and mouse, as well as an SSD already bought and paid for, I was able to convince him not to buy a CD drive. For the OS we'll be using Kinguin/G2A or Reddit. His only other request is to use the Razer S340 or 440.
  22. He already has a SSD, tha'ts why the part isn't listed.
  23. I'm working on a build that's a black and green theme for a friend of mine's son. I know the green isn't ideal, but that's what he wants. I was able to find a mobo with green accents on it, made my gigabyte. The only issue I have is it's a business chipset, and the pc will be used for gaming. He will not be overclocking. How would this build be with one of the new RX 480s in the video card slot. 24. I will revisit this build when the 480s drop. I'll let him know for sure he needs to wait until at least then.
