  1. Saw a video by Robbaz today and he made a joke about setting up a 360 degree OLED display and that LTT had probably already done that. If you guys haven't, you definitely should. Here's the video for reference. bv14-aRs5YQ (Comment is at 8:47)
  2. As many people have said, both the R9 290X and a GTX 970 are excellent options for a 1440p setup. As for the 390X, it looks like that card will be more on par with GTX 980 and will probably not be able to fully flex its muscles unless you're running some pretty demanding 1440p content. Good luck in your future endeavors sir!
  3. Personally, I would go with the first build, but there is no doubt that the second will do just as well of a job. One thing to watch out for is that a z87 board will need a bios update to run that cpu. You're better off saving a little bit longer and getting a 4690K and a z97 motherboard. It should also be noted that I'm a bit of an AMD fan.

  5. Alright, I'll try to do that. Thanks so much for the help.
  6. I can't actually get into the bios. The system won't post at all.
  7. I bought the Motherboard at Newegg, is there another way to flash the BIOS? If so, how do I go about doing that? (Sorry, I forgot to quote you guys.)

  9. Hello, my new MSi a88x gd45 keeps giving me postcode 5d no matter how or what I change. This is my first build and I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this problem. Haven't been able to get into bios Thank you, Alex My specs are: Motherboard: MSi A88X GD45 CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K Graphics: Asus R9 285 Strix RAM: Adata 2x4gb 1600mhz CL9 XPG V1 PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 750W
  10. Perhaps you have malware or adware on your system. Other than that, I'm not really sure what could be slowing you down.
  11. Noctua, be quiet!, and Bitfenix spectre pro fans have all been pretty quiet in my experience. I would go for Noctua though.
  12. Rather than buy seperate thermal paste, you'd be better off investing the $10 into the cooler itself or whatever it is that you're cooling.
  13. Overall, it is up to you. Do you feel the extra cores will benefit you or will you mostly be gaming?
  14. Hello all, I'm in the process of selecting a motherboard for my first system. I was just wondering if there is much of a difference between LAN controllers. I know Intel tends to be more relaible, but is that the only difference? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
