  1. In my server my 4 WD green drives are sitting from 28-32c
  2. There is no difference between a SATA 2 and SATA 3 cable (I think they are just "rated" for different speeds) Though you should not need to purchase any cables as when you get a motherboard they come with about 4 or 6
  3. Not sure why you would need a 500GB SSD for the average consumer You would get away with 250GB easy enough and it saves you the coin. 250GB will give you your OS, games and all your program files etc, you could then get a 1/2TB HDD that has all of your pictures, movies, music etc as an SSD won't help improve that area
  4. Which is why you stick a 360mm in the front! haha Who needs a 5.25" bay right?
  5. pfft, that is why you put a normal 47mm one up the top, and a juicy big fecker in the front
  6. Fractal hatin' huh.. Fractal have amazing cases, the Define series especially the R3, R4 and XL are easily some of the best minimalistic cases around Fractal for life!
  7. run a S.M.A.R.T test on it, Or, download HDTune Pro, I hear you can get it from a place that has a ship in a bay and people on it are pirates.... and check the "Health" tab and it will give you a read out of everything to do with your drive. If anything is highlighted in Yellow, or worse Red then you will have to do an RMA as the drive has become faulty. Or it may be a faulty SATA port on the motherboard, or maybe even a faulty SATA Data cable itself
  8. The temporary solution till a make a wooden block for it to sit on hehe
  9. Right, I got some snaps before I got to send my motherboard away, hope you enjoy the few there are So for my coolant, I will be using tap water. But not town water, since I live in the country I get proper rain water. But to ensure that there is no bacteria I boiled my water first with the jug Water goes in this bowel, and sits in the fridge for half an hour to cool down Time to mix my coolant! 750ml of water, 250ml of Concentrate Orange Pastel Funnel it into my squeezy bottle for filling up my loop Then fill the loop up, do some bleeding and think that I need to add some yellow dye next time around to give it a more richer orange look so it matches with the build more Now lets hope that I get my motherboard back quickly so I can finish this damn project!
  10. This isn't the exact one nor same wattage but here is something that'd do http://www.mini-box.com/picoPSU-160-XT I got mine second hand off of a local forum here in New Zealand and he got it off the local equivalent of eBay so dunno where they got it from either! haha
  11. Hey man I would be more than happy to let you use the photo's If you would like I can send you the full size / full res pictures instead?
  12. Got in touch with the place I bought it from, they can't do a forward replacement till they get the board, which I clearly told them that no matter what they did it was basically fucked lol. It's dead, a 10 second test would prove that
  13. Anyways ladies, here is Part 3 of the YouTube videos. Looking to get some pictures into the log tomorrow
  14. 5 Times huh? So you're the reason Dropbox emailed me telling me that I am using an extreme amount of bandwidth You won't really get by using a dremel to make a desk. If I were to recommend one tool only, I would say get a jigsaw. It is definitely the tool I have used most on this project, and I use it when modding metal cases too. You do not need to have "good components" to make an awesome desk, just make it as awesome as you possibly can, and as long as it makes you feel like you've accomplished something then that is all that matters
  15. Been a sleever for a few years, MDPC-X is still the best. Paracord cannot be compared as they are two completely different fabrics, The only thing you can compare to MDPC-X is Lutro0's Telios sleeving. Though to me, I will always be an MDPC-X man
  16. I just plugged everything back into it after filling loop (which had no leaks I may add) and the little red power button on the motherboard didn't light up, didn't boot when I pressed it. And didn't boot when I bridged the power_on pins Tried another PSU too. Damn... have to strip loop, take block off and send it back for RMA, will probably get it back in two weeks, I JUST WANT TO FINISH THIS BEAST
  17. Here is a quick teaser Should have the rig built by tomorrow! Though will have to dismantle it right after because the damn motherboard is dead Oh joy more delays...
  18. Hoping to get it done tonight Then I have to get my keyboard tray made, which I am getting a place in town to do it for me so that could take a few weeks. But you should get a lot of pictures tomorrow or the day after!
  19. I highly recommend MDPC-X (or LC Teleios sleeving if you are set on it,same stuff really), for me personally I hate the look of using paracord. Looks like multicoloured shoelaces over the wires. You should get around 40m if you are planning on doing; 24-pin 8-pin CPU two 6/8-pin GPU some Sata's Molex's If you plan on doing more than that I would suggest 50m
  20. Is very very untidy and would definitely not recommend. If you're going to do such a premium thing of sleeving a power supply do it right, do it once. Do it the best. I LOVE sleeving a non-modular power supply over a modular. You don't have to have your sleeve lengths 100% accurate, you could have it up to 20mm short in some cases and you wouldn't even know. However if you are 20mm short you aren't very intelligent... lol. -Simple take the housing off, -take all of the pins out (if they are black then do not take them all out cos there's no way to know unless you have a voltage meter) since you can google to where the wires go, as they are colour coordinated. (eg any red wire can go in any hole made for a red wire) -You will find that there will probably be a double Orange, Red and a yellow I think that you will have to snip and reconnect it as other wires are inbetween the double wire meaning it's a pain in the arse to sleeve. Might not make sense, and it's a bit hard to explain but when you get to sleeving a non-modular PSU you'll know what I mean -Sleeve the wire: NOTE if you just stretch the sleeve, and heatshrink the wire inside the PSU as is it has nothing to "hold" itself and the sleeve will just slip down the wire. You MUST use some super glue. -Stretch sleeve, find point where sleeve ends. put glue under the sleeve, and where the shrink would be too. heat the heatshrink, hold the sleeve for 15seconds in place while blowing on the heatshrink to cool it down and set the glue. -Since the PSU is only made to have the cables with one big sleeve around it'll be very very hard to put the cover back on the PSU. I usually get my dremel out and cut a big square for the cables to go through. Makes things ten times easier. If that sounds hard; know that a fully modular is harder to make perfect than a semi-modular
  21. Yeah, there are so many pages, I need to get up to putting a table of contents at the start! I hope that I can make the keyboard tray work, like you I like them as close to the screen as possible too. It'll be something new to me, though when I do my next desk I probably will not have a keyboard tray. will make the top base slimmer so can have the keyboard/mouse on top. Though one think I like about having the keyboard tray with this desk is that there will never be anything on top of it meaning you will always be able to see through the glass and always have everything in view. I could make more clips, but at the end of the day, with such a messy bunch of cables at the PSU end all it would do is make things messier as all the cables will be all turned up and over each other more than they all ready here. Hopefully I can remove the black clip in a few months and the cables will stay how they were!
  22. If you have a thick radiator like an Alphacool NeXXos Monsta (90mm thick) you will definitely benefit from push/pull. Push/Pull does not improve performance for slimmer rads. you will get the same amount of dust build up with push or pull or push/pull
  23. Prime ; Paint ; Clear coat. (with sands between all) Long lasting, and protected. heaps of tutorials out on the internet if you have a look around
  24. I talked to Wind a while back, I am not sure what will get shown in the BOTW on the WAN show, guess we will just have to wait and see
