That's your opinion that they are good or not, it's not fact. Each person has their own genre that they like to play. EA is offering and additional way to play their games. They can still buy them outright or they can just simply subscribe to try out games that they probably wouldn't have paid full price to try out or play. Playing games early does not make them beta testers. The fact that you're saying that shows you have no idea what goes into the QA of a project. Do you hate Netflix as well?

SMH every console topic gets flooded with the same "DAE PC best bruh" crowd. We get it. Stop shoving your penises everywhere about it, its not very classy.

OT: The HDD I'm sure is a nice upgrade but the real draw is the controller. That thing is ludicrously good and solid, getting one to replace my 360 one for console/PC use. Sometimes paying that much really is worth it, the thing is built like a damn tank and is just so nice to use. Not for everyone, but I certainly appreciate something a bit above the typical plastic junk that peripherals can be.

Thats the thing though with 4k ... its freaking 4k do you really need AA to make games look better anymore?? maybe just in screenshots at most. playing games i can't notice difference at all between 2x and 8x at 4k. At some point it stops being about how the game looks so much better and more about peoples ego's saying that they have something that can run 4k max settings.

If you're wanting to watercool with a custom PCB the MSI Gaming, Gigabyte G1 or Asus Strix are currently the best bet. EK are developing blocks for these cards whereas the Classified is TBD.

I went with the MSI and think it's great but I don't think you'll go wrong with any of these options, especially if you put a waterblock on.

    Very in depth guide!

While the focus seems to be on affordable 3D printers (i.e. filament) SLS and SLA methods would be worth a mention. They greatly expand the possibilities in regard to complexity, accuracy and surface finish, and are quite affordable through companies such as Shapeways.

This is somewhat inaccurate. While filament prints are poor in tensile applications they can function quite well under compressive loads. SLS printing can produce parts with high structural strength when designed well and can even compare to injection moulded parts. On a more extreme end of the scale parts can be printed in metal at an exorbitant cost. Koenigsegg manufactures their custom turbos by printing them from titanium.

No, it's not like in Windows 7 and 8.

Right now in Windows 7 and 8 you can select which updates you want to be installed. You can even uninstall an update you've previously installed. In Windows 10 it will update everything for you automatically, and you can't turn it off. In Windows 10 Pro you get the option to disable all updates, or install all updates.

Windows 7 & 8 -> Users have control over updates, and it's a very fine tune control. It's like your water tap at home.
Windows 10 Pro -> Users have pretty much no control. It's like taking a drink from a fire hydrant. You either get everything to the point of suffocation, or nothing at all.

There was a news topic on this a little while ago, it varies between the windows 10 versions. Windows 10 Pro allows you to choose when to install updates (same as 7 & 8) however windows 10 home will automatically download and install updates when available.

#2: ok (just printed to small) https://www.myminifactory.com/object/8585
#3: waaaaay to small - someone must´ve printed it in inches (it was 180mm tall and the arm reached nearly that far out too!) https://www.myminifactory.com/object/8410

Somehow none of my rendered pictures are shown...

I shouldn't be the only one questioning it. Everyone should be - if you have no proper source, I have no reason to believe it. It doesn't matter if it's true, there is no proper source.

Both my entries are showing 'under review' but no reply yet.

I think it's just going to take a while, as in weeks not days. I took a look at the other competitions and even the one from May still says 'no tag line exists' when trying to view entries. The one from April is the most recent competition where everything looks as it should.

I get the feeling that this competition in particular will take a long time - there's a real flood of entries to deal with and 3D printing is very slow.

Looks like the competition is closed - here's my final design.

RAIL is a modular headphone stand that aims for ultimate simplicity. It is easily expandable to fit the needs of many users yet only consists of two base parts. 'Rails' are mounted to the wall and remain a subtle feature when unused. Stands are hooked on to the rails as needed and are made from a single piece of bent aluminium. This design enables users to easily free up space without removing screws and to add extra stands at demand. Both parts are made from 3mm aluminium and require no mechanical fasteners or welding. This keeps manufacture simple and low cost. The potential for part failure is also greatly reduced.

Currently away on a trip so the renders are pretty basic, I'll do some better ones when I get back.

FYI the following are my assumptions, but they are my answers to some of the questions being asked and what I will be designing for.

Manufacturing method: The EBA01 looks like it was machined aluminium, As such that's what i intend my design to use. However I dont see why silverstone couldn't use forming/casting/folding. Given that the quantity of units produced will not be massive I assume they would not be keen on custom plastic components due to tooling costs. 1 or 2 head phones: Either and or both. I might make a version for each.... not sure yet. Modular: if you want, personally i think modular designs are harder to make look aesthetically good.  high traffic area: you never know where someone will install it, design for as many scenarios as possible. Mounting Method: As long as it works and is communicated in the design I cant see any reason why we cant use 3M/Screws/Magnets/Evil Magic Royalty deal: Its on the competition page, you get no royalties. and your 3D file is on the webs for all to use/abuse. 3D Printing Material/method: based on myminifactory and the number of designs, I assume it will be FDM process and PLA or ABS material. Just my 2c, if you disagree with something.... good for you.

    Edit: added 3d printing point.

I would think the opposite is the truth. Religion requires a lot of faith in the unknown, and standing firm in the face of uncertainty and doubt. It seems that the further science goes, the more faith is required to press on and follow through, even in the face of uncertainty or doubt.

    What?
So, you took the fact that I mentioned the HIS cooler BECAUSE YOU showed a chart with it in comparing to wrongly assumed data, to then try and use that as a basis for proving me wrong, using the wrong chats and comparing different coolers?

The amount of straws you are grasping at is hilarious.

Heres an idea. Instead of arguing with me using the worst possible data and arguments known to man, why don't you look up reviews of the cooler yourself?
Or would that take effort and might prove your idea wrong and that would hurt your ego? Better to stay dumb if it doesn't collide with your own made up ideas right?
