blackadder got a reaction from Ben17 in The nightmare that was the RMA process of my DirectCU II HD7870
I really hate seeing this happen. Amazon gave me good cs on a RMA they gave us the wrong box lol. I hope I don't have to RMA anything of the stuff i pc bought, I buy all online. My pc store around doesn't even have key testers .

blackadder got a reaction from MrBaker89 in Gaming Headset less that £30.00
from what i read these don't look bad at all. never used them and i don't see a mic, don't know if that's a deal breaker. just remember everything is made at a cost and things that are real value are few and far between.
edit: it has a mic, im dumb and should read better.

don't be on your phone, being on a phone is just about as bad as drunk driving. watch for others that are on their phones.

blackadder reacted to Pixelicious in What noise should a PSU make when idle?
Thank you so much for the detailed answer a lot of help, I might do that then as I do worry about a lot of thing unfortunatly

blackadder got a reaction from Pixelicious in What noise should a PSU make when idle?
what you are hearing is the capacitors. that buzzing is normally not a big issue unless it bothers the crap out of you. on psu's they normally will have the frequency to be above what you can hear. honestly i don't think its going to blow or anything but, i would replace if you can just for peace of mind as i can't test it for you. on high power equipment you will get a very loud buzz similar to this and they power your houses just fine. when a cap is going out they normally will have a very high pitch noise like a dog whistle, my tv does it. if they do blow they can sound like a shotgun and they will make you pee a little if you're not expecting it.
edit: you said it doesn't change under load, i would replace it, more of peace of mind still than anything else.

blackadder got a reaction from Selven in Getting more ram
from what i read it should work just fine. only thing to mind would be clearance with cpu cooler and what not.
-
blackadder got a reaction from Selven in Getting more ram
nope either should be find. you can change timing on all ram manually, not really recommended and it might not do much or cause instability. there will be a XMP profile in your bios that will set the speed and timing correctly with no real input other than that click from you. easy peezy

blackadder got a reaction from Selven in Getting more ram
looks like if you put the higher profile ones in the black slots it should work out fine. most cpu coolers don't leave alot of room for ram and if you have a problem you might have to take off the coolers but, thats a slim chance. it's the fan that get in the way, you can change it to the other side and have be pull style.

blackadder reacted to Dabombinable in Any budget atx or micro atx motherboards for my cpu?
The main thing for me, is that my old soundcard is based around the Yamaha XG chip, and its sound quality to this day hasn't been surpassed by any motherboards onboard audio (plus it has the standard L+R A/V connectors). And I just tried PC parts picker, and within a few minutes just solved the problem that's annoyed me for over a year . And its Z97+ATX as well.

blackadder reacted to Stardar1 in Is my PSU enough ?
As for wattage, yes, it is more than enough. as for quality... eh.
If you are willing to spend the money, I can recommend good alternatives (~$90, but it depends on your country)
As for what you have now, I'd look into the OEM that Coolmax used for this PSU, it might not need replacing at all.
