  1. if you chose any disease option it will be used for coronaviruses i followed their instructions https://pcmasterrace.org/foldingteam https://foldingathome.org/2020/03/10/covid19-update/ https://github.com/FoldingAtHome/coronavirus
  2. make sense but I still want to know where the others measure it
  3. Hi what is the best FPS counter or lets say bare metal , without overheads or as early as possible in the pipeline. Short version: I want to know where does msi afterburner/rivatuner measure the fps at what time in the pipeline. when does the Fraps measure it. when does in-game engine measure it when does the display OSD measure it (like that asus image) Nvidia frame View T_Present is at api ? Long version: I got this picture from the net so i can understand how the order of things work : so it is like 1. Game Engine 2. Api (DX12, open GL, vulkan) all the same position right? 3. Gpu Drivers 4. Render completed sent to Display 5. **Displayed frame** (display finished processing etc.. and all the input lag bla bla so the frame is displayed ) something like that right? . . A- So I heard that Fraps measure fps or show the fps on driver level ( dont know where i got that info from, something like after drivers finish) But I dont think it is true , is it? Anyway i heard it doesn't work with dx12 stuff. so not a great choice for me. B- then the most common I see these days is **Msi afterburner + Riva tuner** combo. so where does that sit in the pipeline ? is it after rendering complete before display ? C- Nvidia frame viewer This picture confuses me it measures it 3 times So first one ( T_Present) it is on api level ? 2nd time (T_Render) it is after Rendering complete so maybe same as [msi + riva] ? D- the in-game Fps counters work as built in the game game engine so maybe they are the earliest ? but maybe not always because some will have it work differently , will depends on the game engine right? 3rd time it is (T_Display) Same as displays built in overlay FPS counters? sry for the bad English.
  4. I know it is too late , but i would never use that website as reference or recommend it to anyone , i consider it one of the bad websites that spread many bad information. not saying that 760 or 1050 better, am just talking about advising based on that site
  5. I stumbled upon this while searching for a way to make the floatplane android app work on aneroid TV ( Nvidia shield) tried few tricks I used in the past to side load things but didn't work :3 I even forgot a strong one that I used to run pokemmo ,if I remember it I will try it and then it might work.
  6. I was researching this and stumbled upon this post: I am writing this to documented to help future buyers to avoid the model PG279QZ ( " Z " ) I had mine for long time now the original PG279Q and i was shocked when my friends bought his new Z monitor that i instantly noticed a difference but I assumed its the profile or the factory calibration so I tried to tweak mine and his and played around with settings and just assumed its a placebo coz i don't have them side by side to compare, but now after reading rtings comparison its confirming my findings there is clearly a difference in brightness between them and the old pg279q better. if you are not very picky person or never used the pg279q daily then compared them , you won't notice the difference and the 100$ saving is worth it
  7. I was wondering if LMG team would look into making the ultimate home theater setup or look into this projector screen which as far as I know nobody did compared it or review it probably. Black diamond screen it have multiple versions. https://www.screeninnovations.com/materials/black-diamond/ some idea's : 1-maybe combine the Dell S718QL projector that was there in some videos 2- compare it to other black screen projectors etc.. to see if it really improve the image quality. 3- add the dolby speakers :3 and that amazing dell projector voila you got the ultimate home theater. XD I know its very expensive. maybe contact them and get a review sample.

  9. thats because you have the original Cable i have done tons of research and I can prove it to you with pictures . i even stripped the cables and vive did make 4 different cables only 2 of them decent the other 2 made very cheap on purpose to milk more money as consumable product. they even changed the Red mere chip inside and 1 of them don't have chip at all. the cable comes with the headset out of the box is the most durable one , i work with vr and have more than 20 htc vives if I tell you that i have to replace around 20 cables a month ? u will believe it ? but the cable that comes in the box lasts 6 months !? stepping on the cable isnt the major damaging point , its more like twisting it and the strap have crappy soldering job the ear cups have very very very thin wire barley soldered to the pcb so very easily it will come off also funny thing their foams are not replaceable unlike face mask which ones you wear a lot or sweet its game over have to buy new strap not just a foam. i am talking from 4 years + in VR : vive is the best we have but its not a good device at all , not commercially nor personal home use ( and commercial version is same as the consumer one with few things different that doesn't effect its durability )
  10. and I was forced to update . it asked me to pick a time or restart now , it did update on its own am scared for my device . at least luckily I have backups but still its a hassle to re do everything
  11. so we can hope that new budget oriented graphic cards based on pascal will be released on 20 series something like 2050Ti will be same chip of 1070 ? coz they have lots of extra chips laying around and not selling or vendors like Asus/gigabyte not buying to make more 10 series cards, so only way to push them is by rebranding it as new budget cards ?
  12. I hope its light and comfortable. so far I tried all VR headsets and the rift seems to be the best comfort / quality . vive too big and heavy even but amazing tracking Samsung mr is too bad tracking but comfortable the rift somehow its in the middle . playstation vr don't even consider as an option even tho its easy to setup compared to other options with less bugs but still the tracking and resolution are low , its more like a gimmick. so the vive is what I use mainly but its very expensive : 1- htc vive 2- audio strap 3- wireless adapter it will cost a lot . not wireless isn't an option the cable so fragile and break very often. without audio strap its very uncomfortable also need add cost for good headphones. I think VR in general still far from mainstream for another 3-5 years. maybe after 5 years it will be common like consoles so everyone have 1 at home.
  13. Its really fragile but I don't see it big deal compared to mobile. For phones you put them in your pocket and drop them more easily. For a Tablet I think its less likely to encounter a scenario where it will make It bend just my opinion
  14. we are talking about gtx 980 non ti to gtx 1080 I see it worth the upgrade , specially if you plan to play new games that really need more vram, remember we are talking about 980 which is only 4GB vram you will see a lot of games with ultra settings on 1080p use 4.5+GB ram so the 980 is slow and the vram will limit his settings. 1080 is good upgrade for 1080p and for 1440p it is a must upgrade in my opinion because 980 can't run give you good visuals for many games on 1440p
  15. ok it seems you guys made me rethink not to change anything . I will just buy a camera for my stream and tell my friend to go buy brand new.
