Wanted to go full retard retro and buy the SC (just for the books) and WC3 Battle chests (shit struck three times) as well but I can wait. Been playing since yesterday and almost on act III :3

Now I'm no expert and is still running some tests but this thing is trying to spit out more internet than we currently have lol. Did a few tests vs cable and got 80/36 (wireless) and 78/36 (cable) within margin of error. Sucks that our 100/40 NBN has on and off peaks though, but there will always be someone slower than me so cant really complain! Over all I'm a happy camper. I even get a signal two floors down lol. 
 
Gonna test it out again when its off peak.......then again I might be playing during that time so fcuk it!

The most addictive thing is raiding, clearing content and grabbing to gear. Its usually by doing this that you make your online friends and its those people that keep making you comeback. I started in May 2007 (Early TBC) and for around 10 months I wasn't really sure wtf I was doing. Then I got into a serious raiding guild and it kicked off from there. The game has changed a lot since then, and not for the best, its too simple and social friendly now. They also killed a lot of good guilds by introducing 10/25 man raiding and then basically u-turning back to 20 man cause of balancing issues. I played the whole of TBC and WOTLK (GM of a HC guild during ICC), I skipped the middle of Cata cause it was nothing short of wank lol, played the whole of Mists (may of had a few months break due to work) and killed Garrosh Hc before the shite mythic patch/nerf. Played the first tier of Warlords and thought wow this game has really gone downhill and I aint been back for 15 - 16 months. I will probably grab Legion to have a look at the Demon Hunter and pick up with some old friends.
 
As a new player, the game will feel great don't get me wrong as you wont know about the other stuff. Just be aware to get anywhere near the top level, be it PVP or PVE you are going to need to sink some time into it and with other people.
 
I say give it a go, it doesn't get good until around level 60 imo and from there it gets better, obviously the game is all about level 100/end game and tbh as someone who has tried pretty much every MMO with in reason/recent timescale (+2005) it's the best out there

Raiding and PVP is what I'm mostly looking for. Cooperation with a lot of player doing a ton of tasks to defeat an epic boss or going head to head with others.

i liked the art style of the game and professions. I could just walk around the landscape for hours just mining ore and leveling mining profession. i liked the daily quests. i liked to sell my stuff (like ore and stuff) on the auction house. I liked the raids. the teamwork to get to the end of an instance. I had some friends who play it on and off also. so when i start playing, my friend might sub for another month too.

You can actually zoom in to that size. It's just that it still uses assets from 1998 I believe max res on the original release was 640x480 so the default zoom on 1080p looks well, tiny:
 

 

 
Feel free to open up and zoom in. And yes not the most detailed of games looks definitively worst than even Diablo 1 but you'd be surprised how fun it is if you can get past the dated look.

Aaaand when it got released in 1998 (after the Alpha running on the WC2 engine at E3 '96 got a lot of criticism, primarily over the graphics and art style), it got derided as "Warcraft in space!" by know-nothings at the time.

me too. I loved D2 so badly i pirated it, then bought two copies + expansions (cuz i lost the first set of discs.... then bought new and found the old ones shortly after)

Yeah. The horror feel got lost, and the art direction turned towards WoW/Heartstoneish imo.

Well the only thing's I watch on TV are Nat Geo, The Discovery channel/ Discovery Turbo, History Channel and the News plus I watch movies on my PC so IDK if I really need to watch TV that much.
