  1. I watch literally every youtube video at 2x speed. To be honest watching at normal speeds now see very slow to me. I'd love to see a playback speed implemented down the road when the major features are finished and you have time to add additional features. For now I am just going to download and do it myself. To the people saying that there is no reason. If you, like myself tend to watch most if not all the LTT and many other you tube channels (instead of having cable tv) you would be amazed at how much time you save when its all added up. 4 hours of you tube turns into 2 so I can watch my favorite creators but still be productive in the day.
  2. Current Rig CPU: i5 3570k @4.2 GhzGPU: Gigabyte G1 980 TiRam: 8gb of GSkill DDR3 1866 Score: 10.9
  3. Smart Switch seemed like a really nice feature, though I'm still rocking a Galaxy 3 so 6 edge might as well be a rocket ship compared to my current phone.
  4. People can hate on Bose all they would like but they make decent audio gear. I got these speakers back in 2007 for half off at a Bose outlet store (they were returned after christmas hence the great discount) and they are great. Do my DT990 Pros + Schiit Vali Modi combo sound better? Absolutely, but its not really fair compare the two. I use my DTs if I want to hear REALLY listen to something and get great audio performance or feel like using headphones, but for everything else I use my speakers and they are useful, and versatile. Hell when I go to bed I have a 10 year old set of Bose on ear headphones that stay on my bedpost wired up so I can fall asleep with them (as to not put useless hours plus wire fatigue on my DTs). They too are not what I would consider amazing quality sound but are comfortable to fall asleep wearing and thats what I want them for. It's really purpose that makes audio gear the most important, as I love my Bose speakers for browsing and youtube, twitch, music (for me and friends), and when I just don't feel like wearing headphones. Just the same as when I want to hear everything I use my higher quality gear. That being said, to me the Bose gear looks far better in appearance than most other speakers on the market. It may seem like a stupid quip to some but looks matter to me and I'd rather the look of my bose speakers to most any other square speakers with circular patterns. As for the sound quality they are overpriced for what you get (retail) but on sale they are not iPod headphones in comparison to other speakers just not amazing. I'd recommend them to anyone really. Thats just my .02 though.
  5. So I'm helping a friend (well two) build a PC this holiday season and I'm planning on getting the majority of the parts during the cyber Monday sales as thats what I did previously to build my rig and it was the cheapest I could of gotten it. That being said she really just wants to be able to play PC games, more importantly Skyrim and I'd love to get the best possible machine made for her. The budgets is as you may have read $600 without a monitor and I can find a copy of Windows somewhere so just the raw parts. We are in the NY/NJ area so it's likely I'll be outside of Mircocenter Black friday morning to get the cheapest CPU possible. As of right now I'm thinking about an FX-6300 for the CPU for the price I figure that will allow me to get a 7870 XT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131484) as that's pretty great card for the price. Standard 8Gigs or DDR3 whatever is cheapest ( To think I bought 8gb of 1866 G skill sniper ram for $30 last year from newegg...stupid supply and demand) Barracuda 1 TB Drive Basically I just don't know if it's worth it to even look into getting a decent motherboard and overclock the CPU whether it end up being a i3 i5 or an fx, or just get a cheap board let it run stock speeds and that will be enough for her. I'd love a little help on the CPU / motherboard side of things. (I'm also trolling many forums for a good 3570k/motherboard combo on the cheap if at all possible to get the most bag for her buck) Thanks in advance
  6. I realize I cannot overclock the IPS monitors to 120 fps and that doesn't bother me as i got them for the resolution and color reproduction . I just wanted to make sure that the possible new one will be able run at 120hz while the others are only capable at 60hz as I don't know if Windows 8 or Catalyst will allow me to have variable refresh rates on different monitors. I would rather try the 120 hz monitor then get another IPS as 2 is already extremely large as a set up and I feel I might really enjoy gaming at 120fps and if not I can always sell the monitor and stick with my dual set up. The deal just seems very well priced for what it is and I figured why not give it a shot as I don't feel the need for another 1440p monitor.
  7. Hello, I am trying to decide if it would be possible to add another monitor to my dual 27 inch 1440p IPS monitors. They both run at 60Hz off of my Gigabyte HD 7970 overclocked with 3Gb of video ram, and I found (what I perceive to be) a good deal on a 120hz Ben Q monitor featured here. (http://www.woot.com/offers/benq-24-120hz-3d-ready-led-monitor-1) I was wondering if it would be possible to run the 120hz monitor as well at the 60hz monitors together in say a set up with the 120 as my main winged by the IPS panels; this way I could game on the 120hz in FPS style gaming and use the IPS for browsing, videos, ect. I would greatly appreciate anyone who could help me figure this out before the sale on the monitor expires. Thanks My specs are: i5-3570K, 8Gb of DDR3 1866, 512 M4 Crucial and a UD3h Gigabyte Motherboard. I understand that I may need more video ram to run all monitors at full 120 and I may upgrade to a Titan or whatever will be coming in the next iteration of graphics cards, I'm more interested if it is possible to run them all together as they are at different refresh rates.
  8. Sounds great Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=482349235172487&id=415256278548450 Twitter: https://twitter.com/RenegadeParadox/status/340531822360412160
  9. To be clear, Gigabyte locked the voltage control on the OC 7970 cards Rev. 2.0 and higher. I have read some people with Rev. 2.1 Cards being able to OC/ Flash bios and change voltage without issue but that's something you would have to prepare yourself for or worse. Personally I got a Rev. 1 card with the voltage unlocked from NCIX in December which was well after the older revisions were put on the market but that was shear luck. I am unsure if there is any dealer that could check but if you wanted a Gigabyte 7970OC its worth looking into. I love mine, and there is always the used markets where its as simple as looking at the picture to see what revision it is.
  10. Sounds cool https://twitter.com/RenegadeParadox/status/340531822360412160
  11. Thanks, I would like to expand some day down the road but I would really rather get a 280mm Rad. If Swift tech made a H280 I would be all over it. I suppose its get the x60 or wait till something else comes out for 140mm, or save up more for a full custom set up.
  12. Hello forum, I am helping my roommate build a gaming PC and will likely sell/give him my 212 Evo in favor of buying a new cooler for my rig now that I have saved some money. I am mostly interested in the all-in-one closed loop systems, but would consider a custom set up if the price/ performance is significantly higher. I probably will not expand my water cooling to my GPU as it does very well with the Gigabyte Tri-force Air Cooling on it and would rather not spend over $150 ish on this new upgrade. My specs are: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Define R4 (Windowed) i5 3750k (I plan on overclocking moderatly...one of these days) Gigabyte Z77-UD3H Gigabyte HD 7970 OC edition 8GB G.Skill Sniper 1866 Seasonic 650W 840 120GB SSD Barracuda 1TB Personally I can not decide if I should wait for a densely packed 280mm radiator or if the current ones out now are good enough. I would preferably like something I can utilize in top of the R4 as it has two 140mm fan mounts. Also Noise isn't a crazy concern but I would prefer it to be quite as that's why I got the R4 to begin with. Any Tips or advice would really be appreciated.
