My take on Intel refuse to patch the bug.

Thank you! I was just talking about the meltdown exploit, but I'll look into the other. -

If this exploit requires redesigns of the kernel for all major operating systems, would that same redesign also hinder performance on systems that wouldn't be affected by the exploit in the first place. For example when Microsoft pushes out their update it will that kernel memory seperation affect AMD systems as well? Or will the fix detect what platform/vendor it is on? -
I am looking for a monitor to connect my ultrabook to. Things I am looking for: - definitely ips since I don't need it to be fast - vesa mount is a must - reasonable out of the box color accuracy - atleast 24 inch Whether it's QHD or FHD I don't really mind, but text shouldn't be blurry from a normal viewing distance. Amazon.com is ideal

I have a XPS 13 (Kaby Lake), I plan to use this laptop as my daily driver for the next 3-4 years. Hence, I have been wondering possible upgradability through thunderbolt 3. I have looked at different thunderbolt 3 gpu/pci-e enclosures, and they all seem to be priced astronomically. Why is this so? Also will these enclosures come down in price enough to make sense to buy in the next couple years?

just kidding around, thanks for the tip man.

Yeah notes for uni are kinda what sparked this little episode for me

Using that logic I would probably be a fine pulp by now.

Hmm thanks for the tip. I'm probably going to try practicing on a regular basis over next few weeks. We'll see how that goes

Over the past week I've been trying to learn how to touch type. I've deliberately put my mic arm between my face and my keyboard and am forcing myself to use all ten fingers. With a combo of 2-4 fingers i am able to type at 50-60 wpm, but I need to glance at the keyboard regularly. After 15+ hours invested into touch typing I can barely manage 20 wpm and I make so many errors it's ridiculous. Trying to fight this muscle memory is painful. I'm going into uni next year, should I keep at this or just throw in the towel?

It is quite likely (given post-code 62) the motherboard you have has an older bios which does not support that cpu. In that case you will need to flash a newer bios using a cpu that works with the existing bios.

I need wifi/bluetooth adapter (m.2) that supports osx sierra. Here's the catch, I need it to arrive in Vancouver within a week or so or I'm kinda screwed. The wifi adapter everyone seems to use, the dw1560, only ships on ebay from China and would take forever to get here. What are my best options?

Scenario. I have a Kaby Lake XPS 13 that is dual booted with both Windows 10 home and Linux Mint. Partition Setup. There are three main partitions (plus the boot-loader and what not) on the 256gb nvme drive: For Linux formatted as Mac NTFS For Windows formatted as NTFS For shared documents formatted FAT32 At My Disposal. I have a generic 1tb external hdd that is not in use. The Question. What would be the most elegant way to backup my machine? Ideally in case of failure, I should just be able to clone the partitions back over and be up and running again. Also if I could keep multiple backups (maybe one weekly and one monthly) just in case, that would nice since the hdd is significantly bigger than the nvme drive anyways. Thanks in advance

I believe I have 16 gauge wire in my garage somewhere would that still work?
-
It alligator clips for the main inputs: Arrow keys, space bar, and left click It has pitch jumpers for: W, A, S, D, F, G and various mouse functions

I'm new to this, so please forgive me if its obvious. I want to connect my MaKey Makey's inputs to things that are a few meters away without just chaining the included wires. What would be the cheapest way to buy/make longer wires that can work with both the breadboard plugs and alligator clip inputs?

By "asked to multitask" give me an example... do you just mean a shit ton of browser tabs plus a few apps, or are you talking a heavier load?
