  1. I need help finding a connector to for a hard drive that was in a dell laptop from 2003. I need to get it to sata to connect to my computer. Pictures below
  2. Alright after testing each card... The bottom(new) 970 Strix got a score of 5918 graphics score in fire strike extreme with temps around 65-70 C. The top(old) 970 strix got a graphics score of 5000 reaching up to 80 C. An overall difference of about 18.4%. Before i got the new card the old one got a graphics score of 5781 and reached around 65-70 C also. Neither card got any artifcating or blue lines. Currently at idle there is a 10 C difference between the two. The top(old) one is at about 45 C, and the bottom(new) one is at about 35 C. ***both cards have an overclock of +145. Edit: Tried to do 3D Mark again with SLI on, the blue lines came back at the 2nd graphics run, max temp at 80, second card at 66.
  3. No not yet, i should turn off a PCIe lane and try it.
  4. am working on that right now, but i dont think heat is causing the mess ups in 3D mark, tomb raider, and lack of fps increase in GTA V
  5. Well of course, i was just asking what people think.
  6. I recently got a second 970 for my set-up but as i was messing around with 3D Mark i noticed a lot of blue/green lines popping up and I'm not sure what is causing it. Also in the tomb raider benchmark her hair was teleporting back and forth rather than being smooth, i didnt notice it before. Lastly, I didn't notice much help in GTA V during the night and rain i was still only getting 40-50 FPS, I was getting the same with my single 970. Also, currently my top card is reaching the upper 80's as i dont have a spaced SLI bridge, how much would a space SLI bridge help cooling? 7. he has a gtx 970 and after we re plugged everything in to my computer and it started working again. I have no idea what was wrong with it
  8. I was playing games for a good 4 hours today. Some Dark Souls 2 and then Payday 2. Dark Souls ran fine the entire time and so did Payday up until the end. The game is caped at 60fps and usually stays around that the entire time I play, but the last game I played the fps dropped to ~40. I got annoyed with it and got off. Spent some time on the Internet afterwards and suddenly the monitor turns black for a couple seconds. The display comes back and gives me the windows warning bubble stating: "Nvidia display stopped responding and has recovered." I was confused but the computer still worked so I went online to see what that meant. As I was looking, it did it again... and again.... so i decide it's a good idea to restart my computer. Completely turned it off and tried turning it back on, it doesn't. The "WindForce" LED on my graphics card, GTX 960, wasn't even lit up. There is no display to the monitor, so I tried moving the HDMI cable to the motherboard. Still no results, and the mouse and keyboard aren't on either, which are plugged into the motherboard also. So I call my friend up to help and we've been taking pieces of my computer and testing them on his. We've tested the graphics card, the SSD, the Hardrive and they all worked on his computer. Then we plugged in mine with his graphics card, SSD, and Hardrive and they all worked too. The only logical conclusion is that all my parts don't work together, yet they have for the past month and a half? We are running "Windows Defender" on my SSD and Hardrive to look for malware (may be problem according to on thread). So what can be the problem? 9. I would build my first x99 computer and have so much fun doing it
  10. What are some good 120mm high performance but also quiet fans with blue LEDs?
  11. is there anyway to turn that fan off or get that unplugged without a lot of trouble?
  12. It is the z87x-oc force my apologies. one is over the vrm and pch. I know that the fan in the picture is what's making the noise. i cannot find where to unplug it or turn it off in the bios.http://imgur.com/4AKkDdW
  13. The motherboard does have a built in fan and the 760 is only there so i can keep it out of the way until its sold.
  14. I have the gigabyte GA-Z87Z-OC and the fan next to the cpu on the motherboard is making a scratching noise and i have no idea how to make it stop. its extremely annoying. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make it quieter or turn it off or anything?
