Thanks for the help. But, I've decided to just buy super large storage hdd instead like all 4-6TB ones etc. The same cable in the UK is still 22.99, but in £ and not $, meaning i'll have to pay about $32 worth of cables each time I want to add a new hdd.

That has a external power cord, which is really undesirable for me. I was really hoping to fit every inside my itx case. BTW, would my diy method work?

I have a mini itx case+mobo, and am in need of more sata ports. I'm well aware of sata expansion slots, but the only slot is taken up by my graphics card. I was looking at sata to usb 3 cables, but they normally only work for 2.5 inch drives and not my 3.5 inch drives, as they require more power. The cables are occupying both the sata data and sata power of the hdd, meaning I can't just plug in my own sata power cable from my psu. But, would it be possible to like cut off a portion of the cable, just enough so that I can fit my own sata power cable in? So what are my options? Thanks. (for example cutting of the power port of this cable)
