  1. Hello! This is my first post, so be gentle. Here is my dilemma: I currently have an FX-8350 CPU running on a Sabertooth 990FX R1.0 board. I have overclocked in the past, though my current case (stupid reason, I know) doesn't have much air-flow so I've left this processor at stock during the summer as it gets incredibly hot. During the winter I usually hit it with a modest 4.5-6 overclock just to get some extra juice out of it weather permitting. I've been wanting to make the leap to Intel having been an avid AMD fan for a long time. Intel are just leagues ahead at the moment judging by everything I've read, and with the AM3+ form factor becoming obsolete soon now seems like a good time to make the switch. My main question is what performance boost I can expect to see (if any) should I build a new machine around an i7 4790k? I'd be looking to have an H100i radiator cooling the i7, and a new case so air-flow shouldn't be a problem. With that in mind, I'd like to have a steady 24/7 overclock for gaming/streaming/rendering. From what I've researched that should be a breeze for the i7 on a decent mid-range motherboard (have been looking at the Asus Maximus Hero VII). Alternatively, I'd buy a new AM3+ motherboard (I've had issues with my current board), new case and the H100i radiator cooling solution and work towards a non-seasonal affected overclock. Then some time in the future make the jump to Intel, perhaps when the Broadwell is released. Would appreciate any constructive feedback regarding my dilemma!
