  1. Im paying about 17 usd (170sek) for 1Gbps up and down, and its unlimited. Unfortunately the switch in my building is only connected with a 1Gbps uplink since there is so few customers on the entire switch leg. But my ISP has a really good backbone net so having >1ms latency is a thing.
  2. And doing it manual will teach you a lot more about the LAMP stack than doing it with Docker too. Since in the end you will run in to a issue or something will break. And when that happens its easier to diagnose since you know what you did to set it up in the first place. Yes it will probably take some time to set it up, but it will likely save you some in the end.
  3. You can try to setup a VPN at home and route the traffic over port 443. Or talk to your local IT depending on the size of your school. He/she might be able to help you out, ether with whitelisting your traffic or with a copy of windows to run as a VM.
  4. How good is your speed at home and is it caped? And how good is the WLAN on your school? one alternative would be to connect to it remotely.
  5. You can install windows 7 and just press "Skip" when it asks for a key.
  6. A VM might be the best option for you, or you can try to multi boot it. Since I don't use a Mac and the closest thing I've used is a hackintosh I can't really helt mote than that.
  7. I'd like to see some sources for the IP block since TPB is using cloudflare a IP block isn't really viable since it will block out a loot more than just TPB. And if you read one of the pr release from Bredbandsbolaget it states that Basically meaning that the ruling will not have any significant impact because the sites can just create new domains. I haven't had time nor access to read the verdict but according to some random website the verdict contains upwards to 100 urls that has to be blocked. And something to remember is that this verdict will not only affect Bredbandsbolaget but all Swedish ISPs.
  8. Quite simple why I want a shiny new SSD, I don't have one and everyone is mocking me for it. Also the faster boot speed would probably be a good thing!
  9. As long as it stable and not moving around it shouldn't be a problem.
  10. Since I've been on iOS for a few years I really like the smart switch feature. Even though it will only be used once It's a big selling point for me!
  11. I only know a very basic amount of java, so I'm looking on this problem with C# as solution, It shouldn't be that super hard since the app only has to work with a limited amount of phones and it doesn't need to have any in app purchases, it doesn't have be the best looking app in the store, and so on.
  12. The first language I learnt was HTML and CSS then I went to PHP. After PHP I learnt C# and now I'm moving to Objective-C. Personally I feel that it's good that I didn't start with C# or obj-c since that would probably "frighten" me, I'm glad that I got my hands dirty with some super basic languages first and then move to something that is more advanced than what I currently was learning.
  13. I'm not a java developer, but I don't think that would be so hard to make. I see if I can make a java/android developer I know to make an app for this! What android phone is it?
