  1. Yeah, I have this thermaltake core cube and it has these "punched out standoffs" pre installed.I'm using a raidmax hybrid 530w (I know) but it got good reviews everywhere.
  2. UGH!! I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A GIGABYTE With that out of the way: Hi, a couple months ago I built a workstation grade pc with the AsRock x99m Killer mobo and the Adata Z1 4x4gb kit. I had a little bit of trouble in the beginning, but I eventually got it sorted out. 1 month later, the pc won't boot (error code b7). I can get it to boot with 1 stick of ram (4 gigs, but I can't even use Photoshop with 4 gigs. Both ram slots next to the i/o straight up dont work (youll see why). The ones farther away from the i/o do, but i can only use 1 stick at a time. I try to fix it (guess and text at this point) and brzzrt! A plume of smoke comes out of the mobo and an entire trace has been melted: I get an RMA and install everything. Again won't boot because of the same reasons above. I try to turn it on with 1 stick of ram in the slots near the io and for the second time, the motherboard goes up in smoke: The same exact trace. I'm getting really frustrated and starting to suspect other components (psu, ram, CPU) What to you think? This is my work computer and freakin AsRock has cost me hundreds in lost revenue. Plz help friendz. 1 response = 1 prayer 1 liek = 1 smile I cry [emoji25]
  3. Per core temp is more accurate, as @Zayzo said. The core temp(s) that Aida and HWM spit out seem to be similar. I'd trust that.
  4. #1 Does the CPU fan spin? If not, it's your psu, mobo #2 Do the hard drives spin? If not, it's your psu, mobo #3 By start, do you mean boot into an os? Maybe your HDD is bad. #4 Do you have a spare gpu that you can try to use to see if you get a video output? The onboard gpu might be bad. Hope this helps.
  5. @Solarisfire I have an oc'd 5820k (negligible temp difference compared to 5930k) w/ a Noctua NH-U14s and I get 70c under load. I think you either have a bad chip or a faulty sensor. My last suggestion is to ask EK for a replacement block. Maybe your block is faulty. EK provides Arctic MX-4 w/ their blocks, so the paste is not to blame. You can just use the trial. Just download from the site. You have 30 days.
  6. Um, maybe 1.5-2 months. I don't have the serial upc sticker though. Sent that in for a rebate.
  7. Umm. So I have - I mean had an Asrock X99M Killer and it had constant problems, especially ram and oc problems. It was terrible. Today it wouldn't wake up and gave me error 6f/bf. I tried changing the ram sticks and switching them out and many reboots later (I wouldn't even call them reboots, they actually BOOTED) I smelled something like smoke. I turned my psu off and pulled all the plugs out. My mom walked in said "holy shit it smells like burning electronics in here. What are you up to now?" I pulled the ram out and started to disassemble it. I sniffed around and concluded that the smell was coming from the i/o area. Long story short, I found this on the bottom of the board. The PSB trace was completely melted and burned off, and it reeked near there. It's right under the heatsink that said Fatal1ty (yeah Fatality for the Mobo; amirite) Anyways, what do I do? Rma? It's the weekend so I can't call AsRock, which I've concluded has the worst call scedule. Also will manufacturers honor warranties/RMA requests if this Bullshit Mobo caused the other components to break? Dammit I hate this Mobo Nothing but trouble Thanks, I'm so stressed right now, my backup pc is a half broken 2010 MBP. I really don't want to have to use that for a long time. Lastly, I got a rebate for the Mobo, can I still rma without the cardboard Serial number/UPC? Thanks again.
  8. Planned. As I said, this is a rendering workstation, not a gaming rig. The 750ti has the right price: preformance ratio when it comes to rendering.
  9. Rendering workstation. Anything above a 750ti doesn't scale well price: preformance in rendering tasks. I don't game on this pc btw.
  10. Yeah, I know. I'll probably download GPU-Z soon, just for temps/speeds. It's easier for me just to use my application to re-boot, instead of downloading the BIOS.
  11. I know, the performance differences (and price) between the 750 and 750ti are slim, I was just talking about my good experience with my card, since mine is close to yours in the lineup. My father has a 7970 ref. blower (he uses OpenCL, maybe its OpenGL, IDK) rendering applications, and it throttles so hard. That pretty much my AMD experience right there, so I may be a little misinformed. I used to use a 3650 for debug purposes, but that doesn't really count. Your card has an ASUS heat sink, which is good. The 360 he is looking at, has a tiny heatsink, that's not bad, it just that it may run a little hot, depending on his case/other components.
  12. I have an application which re-boots the driver. It's called restart(64,86).exe You can download it here (I literally use it all the time, it has no virus. I got it from work, so I don't know where to actually download it from online. I just used google drive to upload the files from my pc) Thanks a lot for the explanation/solution though! This will help a lot of people.
  13. I'm a 750ti user and I love it. The amd cards run too hot and draw too much power IMO. Yeah you might get some more preformance, but the 750ti is so friggin cheap it's not funny. My card does fine in 1080p games at ultra. (I have a good sample though)
  14. OK, this is going to sound crazy but, I just re-installed my gpu and as you said, closed all of the processes (I also made sure that it was under video devices in devices manager, not other (it wouldn't work if it was in other) and installed. It seems to work now fine. Thanks a lot for your help.
  15. Hi peeps of folding! Here are my 2 issues: 1. Ok, so on my F@H page, it says I have earned 32 (right now) WU (I didn't), but when you click on certificate it says I only completed 27 (right). If you scroll down it also says I completed 76 WU for another team, but when you click on certificate, it says 2 (again, this is the right number). 2. My F@H control thing says I make around 57k PPD on my GPU and 40k PPD on my CPU. Folding from 7-11 doesn't even get close to this (Maybe like 15k for every 16hrs). Also, the gpu says 57k PPD, but it takes around 6-8 hours per WU, while my CPU only takes 1-2 hours. The CPU is better, but getting getting less PPD? WHAA? Anyways, I'm not getting close to the ~100k PPD that I am promised. Any my gpu is not living up to what it promised. Specs BTW: 750ti (some pretty high oc) 5820k (4.4GHZ) actually 4.0 right now 16gb 2800mhz Thanks alot for your help! -nicon P.S. Sorry about bugging this topic with all of my problems. Like seriously, I shouldn't be doing this.
  16. Holy crap this fixed it.
  17. Did you turn your pc off before you took it out? I'll try it in a sec.
  18. I have the Gigabyte Windforce card. Should I re-boot once without the card, and then put it in.? I have a X99 system, so I wouldn't be able to see anything.
  19. This is under Kombustor. It only hits 405. The boost cap is 405 as well.
  20. Yeah, pretty big time. I used to have it oc'd to like 1430mhz (I have a good chip) and it rocked. Now it slowly schleps it's way through renders and folding takes FOREVER. Also on the few games I have installed, it doesn't get above 20fps (I usually get 50-80) (1080p settings)
  21. Hi, as the title says, my 750ti is stuck at 405mhz. It's like capped. I'm running Win 10 Pro x64 and have a 5820k. I have the 353.63 drivers, which I just re-installed. Every time I restart the driver, or open an nVidia app, Afterburner freaks out and shows that my gpu is running at like 2888 mhz, before it reverts back to 405. P.S. This is my work/rendering pc, and having a severely underclocked GPU slows s*** down. I'm so done with nVidia + Win 10, it kills me from the inside.
  22. Ok thanks, I had no idea. It's installing now (so much screen flashing tho) @rhyseyness EDIT: This happened
  23. I've never actually uninstalled drivers before (lol), do I go to device manager and uninstall there. I did that and it still recognized my GPU and said the drivers were up to date. Do I uninstall Nvidia Control Panel and Gefore Experience too? I restarted the drivers and it showed this for a second , but it reverted back to 405
