  1. Hold your horses there partner. Not that I don'the think fallout 4 deserved a new engine *cough*and better gameplay features*cough*dialogue that matters*cough*more choices and influence*cough* but I can't point fault at skyrim (engine was good for that time) and the games are way different. can you imagine that level of destruction and terrain modularity on a game the size of fallout or skyrim? different engines do different things. Not sure if frostbyte even supports open world gameplay.
  2. If I didn't make myself clear, this is exactly my opinion. sure I try and look at market size and other factors to Base my opinion on but in the end, it is my opinion and I may be wrong in regards to What the future will bring but I doubt that. To your second point, yes they are made of computer parts and now even share the same architecture. However, they can't just change the configuration due to several problems such as backwards compatibility and cost. While in a computer under the TV, pop it open and change the CPU, gpu or whatever you want. As for consoles being produced in Greater numbers than anything else, that is probably not the case. Although hard numbers are hard to find, Intel sold more than 100 million processors in q3 of 2014 alone. Compared to the 40 million ps4 sold so far... sure processors will vary from cellar ons to i7s but that is also just 3 months of one year. Not to mention that console sales are in decline if you compare the numbers of PS2 (155), 3 (86) and 4 (44). Why do you think that is? People stop gaming (sure some of the do) or something else? I tried to find Steam growth data from at least 2013 to now to compare it to the decline in console sales but I was unable to. only info I gathered as that in 2013 steam surpassed Xbox live in terms of number of accounts and it surpassed PSN in early 2015 (125 million accounts 8.5 concurrent). And latest steam numbers for late 2016 indicate a further growth of about 70 million new accounts and an increase of concurrent users of 5 million (190 million accounts, 13 million concurrent). And when comparing PSN data I am not excluding Japan where the PS4 holds most of the market share because reasons... so, these are the reasons that lead me to say that the PC will overtake consoles soon enough. much bigger market, much bigger growth, much more flexibility. So yeah, my opinion is just that but I doubt I will be proven wrong.
  3. Yeah. I don't know why I said laptops... since I am looking to buy a new one it was probably not my mind. But, there was a point where people were skeptical about computers and saw no gain to them and in a couple of years they took over and changed everything. Moving on, SteamOS was a first iteration of something that will continue let to exist and evolve because unlike consoles, computer parts are cheap and have been engineered already. I can tell you I made a windows skin that is console like for fun and I could see it in the living room without an itch if I so desired using my Xbox controller. When a company picks that up and irons out the bugs, it will be a small revolution. Not that consoles nowadays don't have crashes or die on their users right? Those machines may not have much traction for now (those particular PCS because the PC market as a whole has been growing into console territory hence the release of the PS4 pro and Sony's exclusive titles remaining that). But let's wait for the next generation of couch friendly machines and see what they have in store for us. It's not a wish BTW, I have nothing against consoles besides the fact that they are anti-consumer. I have no intention of making everyone play games like I do (which is better). As I said, the only problem I have against consoles is that they are anti-consumer. Now I did mention that the PC market is larger than both consoles combined and with the superior interface and options it is a matter of time for more and more people to transition. As I said, the PS4 pro was sony's attempt to stop people migrating to the PC for the superior graphical fidelity. And I find that what they managed to achieve with such hardware to be impressive although it is a matter of time before the same techniques get implemented into PC games. Regarding games released both on consoles and PC, apparently the Witcher 3 as of March of this year, overtook console sales. plus, if we want our to talk about market size, games like elite dangerous and strong citizen show that there is a lot of moneyou on PC gaming. Join tour that the other games I mentioned and you can see that console gaming is a small minority. And to the guy that said I canot, play Witcher 3 at 4K 60 with tweaked settings, You have no idea of what you are talking about. And saying that games are well optimized so they run well at 4k 60 and therefore shouldn't be considered is completely stupid since your argument was that we are far away from being able to play games to 4k 60. As I said, we can do that now with a Titan Xp and if everythinget was well optimised we could play them with a 980 ti. So no, that future is not far away. It is the present for some of us.
  4. Well, you are only harming yourself in the process. Wait to see what zen brings. either of the other choices are bad for you since your bang for your buck will be low.
  5. I can lay doom, BF1, Mechwarrior Online at 4k 60 FPS maxed out on my 980 ti. With some rtweaks that make no difference visually i can play Witcher 3 and GTA 5 at 4K 60 fps.People with a Titan Xp can play pretty much anything in true 4k 60 FPS ultra. I suspect when Vegas comes out we will have more options to play at 4K 60 FPS and I would bet money that for sure the 1080ti will crush 4k 60 FPS. What are you on about? next gen GPUs will have an even easier time running these resolutions. What far away future is that? 2017?
  6. First of all, GTA V on PC sold more than 5 million units and is by far the best GTA version around. Second of all, I find it interesting that since this mid gen update for consoles is clearly aiming to make up for the shift of gamers to the pc market, you try to make it seem like consoles are what people want. Which is simply not true. There is a reason why Sony sticks to its exclusives like a drawning man to a rescue boat. There is a reason that they released the pS4 pro in the middle of the console's life cycle. They need to keep people in their platform and stop losing more players to the pc market. The PC market is huge and it is growing. Games like Dota 2 and League of Legends have more players than there are consoles in the world, the most played FPS in the World by far is CS GO which has more people playing it than Cod and BF1 combined. The PC market last year generated more revenue than the mobile market. PC is where people are and will continue to grow. Next step is couch gaming. Machines like the steam ones are intended to take on casual gaming from consoles and it is a matter of time before they suceed. You may laugh now but remember, not 20 years ago people thought laptops were a waste compared to a typewriter and they would never replace the typewriter in the office. Who uses typewritters nowadays? We are still years away from a PS5 (if it ever comes) and PCs keep getting better and better while consoles remain static. If someone wants to invest on a new game system what are they going to buy? This PS4 pro also breaks console cost. Whereas before you would spend about 500 dollars every 5 or 6 years, now you need to spend 400 every three years to play the latest and the greatest. for that value, I would rather spend that on a gpu every three years. It will provide better quality and last longer. All in all, the PS4 pro provides amazing image quality for the cost but, it is not without faults and it is a stopgap measure to try and slow the bleeding of console players into the PC. And this is all so that they can continue with their anti consumer practices which is the biggest fault of consoles IMHO.
  7. Sound seeking weapons are not that new (torpedoes) the problem will be to isolate specific sounds (like a tank's engine) without following other groups of sounds that combined can sound remarkably similar. Not likely to be implemented IMHO. Not to mention that as soon as we get hybrid or electric tanks, the missile is useless.
  8. I usually am in agreement with you on this matter but I must say that an Apple or a Lenovo are two different beasts and not because of the reasons you gave. For video editing, a MBP seems better but for cad work or ArcGIS, nothing beats the Lenovo. Ito not about the weight, it's about the work. If I have to do some data processing on the spot during a survey on a rainy day, the Lenovo is the right tool for the job. Again, it depends on your use. Now, for those saying the mbp is terrible value, it isn't. Personally I wouldn't get on but not because I hate apple but because I have no use for it.
  9. Its not how it works. If you placed a mirror one light year away, it would take one year to get there if it traveled at light speed so you would see at best what was going on when uou sent it there. Assuming that the light wouldn't degrade and you could see the details. Best way to look to the past is to look straight ahead.

I want that to be removed. It is a bad mechanic for a game such as this imho.
  11. This will be useful for micro probes and r&d for now. Later, we will see.
  12. Oops. Different bug. I had a bug where I couldn't access any console and frame locking to 60 fps solved it
  13. Kerbal Space Program Assetto Corsa Squad Insurgency Mechwarrior Online (f2p) Armored Warfare (f2p) War Thunder (f2p) Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 ... A pretty eclectic list.
  14. Are you playing the pre alpha release? I have access to it and would love to have someone to explore with.
  15. Ultra settings are over rated. And it becomes a situation where the image looks a lot crispier at 4K. For me, it is a tradeoff that I am willing to do. I own a 1440p screen but I am playing most games at 4K with DSR and will probably get a nice 4K IPS display for Christmas. 27 inch one since the pixel density of 4K at 27 inch is so good. You hardly need AA.
  16. Yes. As I said, the police should investigate and give him a stern word because his actions can spread panic. But not prosecute him. That is cray cray.
  17. That depends, scour eBay and second hand websites in Spain. Heck, you might even find some cheap end of stock cards brand new. But seriously, the i3 is a must IMHO.
  18. I agree peoe shouldn't recklessly pull shit like this off. But charges were pressed.
  19. Seriously, since nvidia removed double point precision from its quadro lineup, if you need cuda, get the best card with the most cores you can get. For your budget I would say a Titan XP would serve you well. If you do need the dp, then a Tesla or, if you don't need cuda, a firepro.

Have you considered looking for a 950 on the second hand market? Overall it should provide you with less stuters than a pentium. Also, you do get the integrated HD530 so you can survive off of that for a couple of months. You can play GTA V on it on lowest settings at 1080p with playable framerates.

Well, I can tell you that staying off 64 player servers help. I mainly play 40 player operations and the game seems a lot more manageable like that. I think maps are too small for 64 player. As you get better, you start dying less. But I will give you this, there are way too many snipers with 1 shot weapons in game. The game could defiantly use a cap to 80 or 90 max damage for sniper weapons removing 1 hit kills except for headshots.
  22. If the i3 is only 23€ difference, get it with the cheapest 1050 or even a 460. You can upgrade GPU easily afterwards and as you said, you can aleays get an i5 later on. Heck, get an i5 now and some fast ram and use the iGPU for a while. It will allow you to play games on low/med 1080p and in a couple of months you can get a decent GPU like a second hand 970 or a 470 or a 1060.
  23. That isn't "all". your opinion in this matter is wrong. I am an advocate of the freedom to be an idiot so I stand with that guy 100% we can't be selective on our freedoms or they cease to be freedoms. France is going down a dark path and it is high time they left it. Daesh has won if they continue like that. Sure the neighbour was scared and the police has to intervene to look it up like in any case of domestic violence or suspicion of burglary. But pressing charges is completely idiotic and wrong.
  24. Why is it so rare to see this opinion expressed? I thought about going 1080 too but tbh the performance increase is not worth the price. To the OP, that price seems a bit high, try to find another one even if not EVGA.
