corsair equivalent of the logitech g pro wireless mouse?
Zohan2000 replied to Zohan2000's topic in Peripherals
I'll give that a try thanks I'll have a look at them and see if it's better then icue and ghub -
currently using the logitech g pro wireless mouse, its cool but looking to reduce the amount of programs im using and since im only using the logitech software for the mouse and the corsair software for the keyboard(k70 mk2) and soon to be RAM so what would you say is the closest equivalent to the logitech g pro wireless mouse? dont really care for a DPI button on the top of the mouse and prefer to only have 2 buttons on the left side for forward and back in windows and some games, thanks in advance

thats what the tplink range extenders offer as well as some of their other products but it seems like ill have to change my entire networking if i want the mesh device to be connected with an ethernet cord instead of using wifi to extend
-
and that would have the same name and automatic switching between the 2 devices? the onemesh thing thats on tplink's devices makes it look easy but doesnt use an ethernet cable for its connection
-
im still at a lost at what to get lol, my brain is just bleh on this subject
-
basically want the main router/modem to ethernet cord to my room with an unmanaged switch and have another ethernet cord go under the house and plug into the device that gives out wifi and all use the same internet and switch between the connections, if i buy the tp link ac750 and connect it with an ethernet cord, would that work? or do i have to get something completely different?
-
is a mesh network different? mainly want the device to connect with an ethernet cable to get its wifi
-
looking at extending wifi to under the house since wifi is really spotty there but no idea where to start looking, the modem/router im using is the tp link archer vr2100v and its got a thing called onemesh so im guessing its easier to get something from them, was hoping to get something that connects with an ethernet cord to an unmanaged switch (tp link tl-sg1005d) to keep things clean and gives the extender a more stable connection, any tips or advice here is welcomed, thanks

so far think ive found a much better modem/router to use, a TP-link archer vr2100v which will be replacing the annoying telstra modem/router and the grandstream box, still looking around for an unmanaged switch but no idea what to be looking for in terms of features -

looking to upgrade home network from ISP modem/router(AUS)
Zohan2000 replied to Zohan2000's topic in Networking
looking around i think ive found a decent modem/router replacement, was gonna get a modem or find a small ISP one and get a router for the wifi and ethernet ports but i dont have much room where the phone line is and dont want to have 3 different devices for internet and voip (using a grandstream for the house phone) any suggestions or advice? TP-link archer vr2100v https://www.tp-link.com/au/home-networking/dsl-modem-router/archer-vr2100v/ -
hi all, looking to upgrade from the telstra modem/router im using to something that allows me to change settings like port forwarding, DNS and other things for a future server but got no idea where to start looking, also looking to get an unmanaged switch to use for the computer and future server plus any consoles i use, any tips and advice here would be awesome, something smallish would be good and not too "gamer-ry" as it does have to pass the mom check lol my current setup is from the wall into the telstra modem/router (has Wi-Fi) long ethernet cable to the other side of the house for my computer, it works fine but seems limited and not really expandable

advice on first server/nas build in jonsbo N1
Zohan2000 replied to Zohan2000's topic in Servers, NAS, and Home Lab
Before buying anything I'm gonna set up a small test build of random parts and drives to try out unraid and see if I can get the hang of it easily enough and also change the network setup so I can get more access into settings and get a small unmanaged switch for the server and the pc, thanks for all the help and advice! -

went with the i5 cause i thought the extra speed and better igpu would be better overall and the drives, earlier in the thread it was said that the parity drive should be the largest drive in the array -

thanks, gonna makeup a quick list and have a look around for pricing, also noticed thats theres an updated version of the n1, the n2 from jonsbo more like a cube shape but doesnt seem to have much cooling for the harddrives EDIT: found that sas hba on ebay AU and if i use a ddr4 intel board i can save some money on ram, made this list, does it look good for a start? https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/vRhnZw EDIT 2: the fans are to replace the included fan but only to be bought if the included fan is annoyingly loud, few reviews of the cases ive watched have said that -

what would be better for unraid, intel or amd? also ram speed and capacity whats the ideal setup for it? gonna sell the 3900x and the 16gb of gigabyte ddr4 ram to spend on a low end cpu with intergrated graphics and use ddr5 ram, also should i use a m.2 card for more sata ports or get a pcie card for more sata ports? if using a pcie card for more sata ports, should it be a raid card? -

the isp router is pretty locked down, cant port forward or setup dns settings, tried setting up pihole and couldnt get it working since i cant really change any settings, back to getting the first few HDDs for the server, i went with 4tb drives cause they were cheaper and at least 7200rpm, prices are annoying in australia -

honestly no idea, thought gigabit was like a standard, at the moment my network setup is pretty basic with just the isp router at one end of the house and a long ethernet cable to the other side for my pc, was thinking of getting a better router that at least allows me more control in the settings and use the long ethernet cable to have a small switch in my room for my pc and the server to connect up to, probably will need an unmanaged switch? so there wouldnt be any conflicts between the router and switch and the connected devices -

probably should upgrade my network first so i can get at least a gigabit on devices around the house, probably be cheaper to do that first then get myself a server setup later, should i try to get a motherboard with 2 m.2 slots for future upgrading?
