  1. Hello, sorry if this isn't the cleanest post (on iPhone) I'm building a yellow-themed pc for a friend, complete with a 290x Lightning and asrock z87 formula I've been looking at similar builds, one actually on LTT forums, and saw AF140 with yellow rings. My build is nearly exact to this one: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/95937-the-lightning-350d-build-update-4314/ Do you have to plasti-dip the rings or do they sell yellow rings? Thanks
  2. I'll definitely look into that, just for aesthetics bc the cable is plenty stiff yup thats all it was. thanks!
  3. @W-L @TheExtra404 @davo1111 @JerkyMcDilerino @JeffreyEagan So I found a youtube vid with the same issue that I ran into, grabbed my soldering gun and electrical tape (shrink tubing was a failed attempt). Power brick is disassembled, and kinked wires are snipped/stripped. Soldering the connections, taping them off to prevent contact and a short. I glued the case back together, and it works! It is completely safe, although the final look of it seems sloppy. I am overall happy with this, and if it ever becomes an issue, I won't bother doing this project again. Thanks to everyone who helped YouTube vid:
  4. I see some for $35-45... Are these just fakes or just bought from Apple in bulk? Ex. http://www.impactcomputers.com/ma938ll-a.html?gclid=CjwKEAjwxYGuBRCtoqjkrIPDqDwSJAAnd-rCR6ZoalK5bd6Yd-uSG3CEUfCFzhjcp0Pm2V9jxLJ2ExoCGSrw_wcB
  5. So last night I was unraveling my Macbook charger from its usual coiled state, and noticed a kink where the charging cable meets the power brick. I examined it, and like a dumb-ass, bent it the opposite direction. So now I have a semi-stripped cable coming out of the brick, and I don't know if it is dangerous to be exposed. I know a fair bit about PCs, but next to nothing about electricity and current. Is the charge coming out of the brick enough to zap someone if they step on it? or maybe create a spark? Im planning on buying a new one, but I'd like to know whether or not to use it until then. (I can still charge my laptop, but only if I position it as shown in picture 2) Thanks!
  6. I don't personally have one, but I love the look of the "Stealth" series from MSI and Linus has 1 or 2 videos on them http://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=CHuSBoGS9VdWXEtjshAS8pqPID-GdltAGgfOLzJQCmYrotf8DCAQQASgFYMmGgIC0pNgPoAHjjOL8A8gBB6oEJk_QaUAuUXXjpGwPm_GW-BrT9SMMuAxd7j060JEubUYl-uv1x50EwAUFoAYmgAeG8kyIBwGQBwKoB6LCG6gHpr4b2AcB4BKEh4OIje2A09cB&sig=AOD64_36tt4bSLM0kpcm4UqvFJVYMYK56w&ctype=5&clui=1&rct=j&q=&ved=0CCEQww9qFQoTCOPhuMWSiccCFcwbPgodohoAWQ&adurl=http://clickserve.dartsearch.net/link/click%3Flid%3D92700007720659950%26ds_s_kwgid%3D58700000457845262%26ds_e_adid%3D74152622833%26ds_e_product_group_id%3D137283372313%26ds_e_product_id%3DN82E16834152813R%26ds_e_product_merchant_id%3D8438988%26ds_e_product_country%3DUS%26ds_e_product_language%3Den%26ds_e_product_channel%3Donline%26ds_e_product_store_id%3D%26ds_e_ad_type%3Dpla%26ds_s_inventory_feed_id%3D97700000000000031%26ds_url_v%3D2%26ds_dest_url%3Dhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx%3FItem%3DN82E16834152813R%26nm_mc%3DKNC-GoogleAdwords-PC%26cm_mmc%3DKNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Gaming%2BLaptops-_-N82E16834152813R 1,200 € http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=1149344&gclid=CjwKEAjw3PGtBRCWgajpu_uY9hYSJAAICRaloTPoMb3b6bGvwmaLZ4z8_kIxpPnB6IxWDXIlFiLBvRoCALLw_wcB&Q=&m=Y&is=REG&A=details 1,550 €
  7. Neither of those games really appeal to me, but somehting interesting that I've seen for the first time: Mostly because of LIRIK, but still seems like its a hit game and gaining popularity. (and wtf is up with CS catching up to LoL)
  8. Ill look into it- thanks
  9. A little more than accents, but the Bitfenix Neos looks sexy af http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA25V2EU4363&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleMKP-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleMKP-PC-_-pla-_-Computer+Cases-_-9SIA25V2EU4363&gclid=CjwKEAjw3PGtBRCWgajpu_uY9hYSJAAICRalEAGUz3RgZUBMAwu6Gwv08HV0GqV478wEHlSl3sv_8RoCiBrw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
  10. Hey I've been refreshing the lounge all day for the past week, looking for a FN flip doppler, but could never find someone willing to trade me for it.... Are there any other websites that specialize in this type of trading, and have similar amounts of people looking to trade?
  11. oh I was talking about big brand programs browsers, platforms, utilities, ect. drivers will probably take a while to iron out
  12. you couldve just sent a message to the mods lol
  13. All the major brands have optimized their software for Win10 for a while now, and MSI is one of those so yeah
  14. I doubt that 6700k is legit, plus it was most likely an early prototype leaked or a faulty chip?
  15. Well, unless you already have it, its a waste of 100+ $$ EDIT- Actually with that 390x and SOC mobo, you leave room for potentially 3 more GPUs, so yeah i guess that 1k Watt PSU is alright
  16. go with a 600-700w PSU also a 970 wont do 1440p at 60fps unless your at low/very low settings
  17. No, but I don't think you have to go push-pull. If you really want to though, I suggest the Enthoo Luxe, but look into the exact measurements of your fans/rad and space available in the luxe
  18. http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=559&item_id=080608 Best bet i'd say
  19. Not sure, but maybe try switching USB ports? unlikely but if you have the time you might want to try it. Question - can you have a corrupted file on USB?
  20. Enthoo Pro if your willing to have a full tower PSU shroud, drive bays, air flow, plenty of air flow and included fans
